Getting an Owl

[Jenny Henderson]

Jenny walks into the store and listened as the little bell on the door rang to show her arrival. She knew she had worked to get enough money to buy an owl this year and she was very excited about coming to choose one. But once she had entered and started to look around she realized that it was going to be hard just to choose one owl, they were all so gorgeous and looking at her pleadingly. "Oh no this is going to be hard..." she said to herself as she walked through the store gazing at all the owl's smiling and trying to find one that would catch her attention, one that would draw her to it. While fiddling with her hands in front of her she begins to read one of the tags placed in front of a cage, of course she knew most of the facts on this card already but oh well, she just needed to stall for time while she looked around.

[Selina Faris]

Selina had decided to leave the park she had been walking around and headed for Diagon Alley. She was still wearing her red dress and walked into the owl shop. Her old owl had broken both it's wings so she needed a new one. She looked around at all of them, it was a bit overwhemling to see all these birds. She looked at a tawny brown one and tried to pet it through the cage, though it seemed to be a bit scared by the bright color of her hair. She chuckled softly and continued to stroak it gently.

Jenny noticed a girl walk into the store and smiled as she watched her walk over to an owl and begin to pet and stroke it, she loved it when people were nice and caring to animals. "Looking for an owl as well?" she asked politely still smiling as she leaned up to pet a snowy white owl that was on a shelf a little way up, it was beautiful and really caught her eye. She loved all the different owl's and didn't know which one to choose from but this one seemed different, friendly and kind yet at the same time it had a look that showed it would get whatever job you needed done, done.

Selina didn't hear where the voice had come from, and for a moment thought she had imagined it. She looked over at the other girl when it had sunken in and smiled back sweetly. "Yep! There's so many owl's though...it's a tad overwhemling!" She looked up at the owl the girl was petting. "I think it likes you already." She had continued to stroak the tawny one as she talked.

[Kiyo Walker]

Kiyo walked into the store, glancing around. There were a few students inside and she smiled. Remembering what she was here for she roamed around the shelves, stopping in front of a cage near the two girls. Inside was a midnight black owl that looked like it was part eagle, or maybe hawk. She reached up and stroked it, her smile widening slightly when it didn't make any move to harm her. This species was known for being vicious.

"Oh yes, there are so many I can't choose which one I would like." she then smiled up at the owl she was now petting and decided that she would get this one since it seemed to have taken a liking to her. Jenny laughed a little and smiled, "You really think so? Well I think the one you are petting seems to like you as well." she smiled up at it and noticed that someone else had walked in. Smiling kindly at them she guessed that everyone seemed to want to buy an owl today, "Afternoon!" she said happily to the newcomer.Then realizing she hadn't introduced herself she quickly turned back to the other girl, "I'm Jenny by the way, nice to meet you!"

[Selina Faris]

"Oh! I'm Selina. It's a pleasure." She smiled at the girl and looked at the tawny owl. "I think I'll get this one." She said to herself. She noticed someone walk in and waved. "Hello!"

[Kiyo Walker]

Kiyo turned to look at the girls. "Hello. How are you two today?" she asked, smiling at them while still petting the owl.

"Oh fine thankyou, and yourself?" she said politely with a small smile. This being her first day here she was definately starting to meet some people and they all seemed very nice. Knowing this she decided that this was going to be a good start to a new year. Leaning up she reached for the cage of the snowy owl she had chosen and began to bring it down slowly as not to frieghten the owl.

[Kiyo Walker]

"Fine as well," Kiyo said bringing the pure black owl she was petting out of it's cage, "Are you going to buy that one?" She smiled as the owl on her hand flew and landed on her shoulder, sitting calmly and watching the girls. She then continued to pet the dark colored bird.

[Selina Faris]

"Wow, that owl took a quick liking to you." Selina said, watching it perch on Kiyo's shoulder. The owl she had been stroaking nipped at her fingers gently as if to ask to be purchased. Selina laughed softly at the bird. "I definatly think you're going to be my new owl." She pondered over a name for the pretty brown creature. "I'm going to call you Daichi." She whispered softly. The owl looked pleased and she gently took it's cage up to the counter to purchase it.

[Kiyo Walker]

Kiyo smiled, watching as the girl left, before turning to back to the creature on her shoulder. "I think you'll do just fine as an owl for Mikara...." she told it, petting the feathers on the bird's back. In her family, it was a tradition to buy the children that were going to become first years a new owl in celebration. Since she missed Mikara's first year, Kiyo figured that she might as well get her one now. She smiled slightly, her eyes becoming unfocused as she started to remember her first owl.

[Pixie Trixibelle]

Pixie walked slowly into the Owl Emporium. She looked around and saw a girl looking at an owl. Shaking her blonde hair she walked over with a smile. She was new here, but she wasn't worried.

Pixie was quite the popular girl in her old schol, she knew it would follow her here. With a name like Pixie, what else could anyone be but cute, sweet, and adorable?

"Hi, I'm Pixie Trixibelle" she said with a smile to the girl.

[Kiyo Walker]

Blinking slightly, Kiyo turned and looked at the girl. "Hello. That's an interesting first name......" She stated, then laughed slightly, shaking her head, "Ah, but where are my manners. I'm Kiyo Walker, nice to meet you." The black bird in Kiyo's shoulder stared at the other girl, seeming to study her.

[Mikara Levitt]

Mikara walked quietly into Eeylops. Glancing around she quickly found Kiyo and another girl talking in one of the corners, her godmother holding a beautiful black bird. Wondering why Kiyo would have picked out an owl, Mikara hurried over and shot the older woman a questioning look.
