Management Buyout MkI Mod B



History and Details

As some know, the Management Buyout Mark One has long been the main supercapital warship of Zeppelin Manufacturers, Incorporated. However, at some point of ZMI history, it has been superceded by more advanced designs, and the outdated hulls have been sold to the nascent Greater Prussian Stellar Navy, which they served with surprising quality. However, ZMI has been reluctant to supply the Greater Prussian Empire, or it's members, with new hulls of the brand.

Only after a few years did a certain Empire nation – the United States of Allanea -reach a comfortable solution. They first reverse-engineered the orginial Management Buyout Mark One, Mod A, and then began building their own – but heavily modified to avoid lawsuits and armed intervention on behalf of ZMI.

As such, a variety of adaptations was introduced in the design, which will be easily seen in this layout:

The Multimode

After a large amount of deliberation, the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and Allanean Arms, Incorporated staff decided to adapt the Multipurpose Beam Weapon (MWB), often mislabeled 'the multimode', as the main weapon system to use aboard the Management Buyout Mark I Mod B. It is an impressive device, capable, much as the Triumvirate of Yut ERASER weaponry, to fire in practically every range of the EM spectrum, from laser beams to gamma rays, and from visible light to pure infra-red. This weapons, as was said, replaced the coilguns and ion cannon used by Zeppelin Manufacturers.

The Hyperdrive

This method of FTL travel is favored by the Allaneans, and since it is faster then what is commonly used by ZMI ships, it had to be installed on the new version. Again, this prevents copyright theft by merely using a different design then the original.

Gravitics

The Allaneans love to be able to use all their ships in athmosphere. As such, the installment of advanced Allanean Arms Mark 6 Gravitic systems was considered necessary by DARPA. To the same tune, the ship is equipped with a set of ultra-high power loudspeakers, which – while the crew is proteced by advanced shields and noise reductions technology – are quite capable of killing errant birds or stunning individuals on the ground with their sheer noise rating.

The Hull

One of the key failures of the Mark One Mod A had been the existence of the gap in the middle of the hull, essentially making it a twin-hull ship, vulnerable to strikes to this area with high-energy weapons. This is no longer the case with the Mod B, as Allaneans have reinforced the link between the hulls, giving the ship more of an "ISD aesthethic", and improving the durability of the vessel - essentially turning it into a one-hull ship, which is progressively mroe stable.

The Main Cannon

Overkill? Allaneans have never heard of the word – though in some places, like Rejistania, the very word 'Allanea' means overkill. The main spinal cannon is now a hellbore, firing charges of up to six gigatons at one time. Note that before firing the main gun, you much charge up for ten minutes per gigaton fired. Useless? Maybe. Our people still love it.

Price:

Due to a special arrangement between Allanean Arms and the Allanean government, Allanea's close allies (inquire to check whether you are one, though if you're not sure, you probably are not) get to buy it for 5 trillion a ship, though it takes 6 years to construct. Others pay 10 trillion Universal Standard Dollars per ship.
