Kicking and screaming..

Oh honestly, Desi didn't speak to one woman in this entire manor. She had been deprived of female companionship for quite some time. Selene had been, and still is, her only feminine friend, and she refused to let the girl drift away. She understood that she hated the manor, and hated Desi's line of work, but she could.. ignore that.

She knew it was hard for her to come to the manor and view the horribly twisted people who mutilate her patients. It wouldn't surprise her if Selene felt a bit hypocritical. But Desi needed her there, surrounded by whores and horny, bloodthirsty men all day. She needed some sort of outlet.

Selene was sweet though, she allowed herself to be dragged to the snake pit. Desi thrived here really. It didn't even bother her living under the same roof as her sister, although she rarely saw her. Kiara was brought here as a playmate. And Desi? Well, she did have an innate sense of direction.

She was working her way up, or at least she hoped. Desi had seen what the other women attempted to do in order to move up the totum pole. They flirted, rubbed, sucked, fucked any relatively powerful man in the manor.

Did it work?

Oh hell no.

They knew exactly why the girls were doing what they were. Azura slept with the Dark Lord more than likely, for some source of power. Did he give her any? No. Did he pull the wool over her eyes and make it seem like he did? Of course, that's what keeps her in his bed. Alecto slept with.. everybody, because she figured one of these days a man is going to roll off of her, exhausted, and satisfied saying, "Oh by the way, would you like to come with me on a mission? That'd be great, ya know? Killing people together, raiding houses, serving the Dark Lord.. "

No.

Her efforts pleasured them, but did nothing for her cause. It was pathetic, and every time Desi thought about it, she couldn't help but smirk. It was amusing as well.

"Oh stop looking so annoyed, it's an ugly expression." A smirk spread across her lips as she slipped off her cloak as they entered the hallway.

My my, you would've thought Desi had held her at wand point.

Selene wasn't remotely fond of this idea. She wasn't fond of any idea that involved her wandering straight into a house full of lunatics, rapists, and/or murderers. No, there was something about the whole thing that just didn't sit well in the pit of Selene's stomach. The manor itself was disgusting, but not nearly as bad as it's inhabitants. So, why did she come? Blame the girl with the eyepatch. Everytime she passed down the hallway, up a flight a steps, or open a door, she gritted her teeth and winced. Would he be on the other side? Accidently walk in on them together? Oh Merlin, Selene would've.. she would've.. turn around and walk out quietly, the man wasn't worth the the mechanics of pulling out her wand on the woman.

He wasn't.

You know, maybe if she just kept repeating that phrase over and over again, it just might become a reality.

Selene had been at work. It was 'cold hour', the hour in between sunset and evening. The interns nicknamed the time because it seemed that it was the average time for either someone to die, or the hospital to empty. When she wasn't running from one side of the hospital, dodging nurses to make sharp turns around corners before sliding like an athlete into a room, Selene was asleep. She worked, she slept, she drank coffee.

She had been leaving already, sneaking out to go home before she was caught by the finacial aide. Selene was basically in charge, but this man rode his employees like slaves. Selene had quickly walked to the door, a newspaper blocking her side profile as she neared her freedom. The man was already perched, waiting for any escapees, near the front desk and sipping from his own mug of coffee. Selene made a casual but abrupt turn just as his head rose, walking with her back to him towards the back exit.

"Burroughs?"

Keep going.

"Healer Burroughs!"

Go away.

"Evening Mister Cauldwell, just going back to my office, you see," Selene called over her shoulder, waving his meaningless words that he shouted in her direction as she kept stalking off away from him. "Lots of work to get done, can't talk now!"

She was still down the main hallway when Desi was walking up. Once out of eyeshot of her employer, Selene lowered the paper to the side of the black cotton peacoat she was wearing and shook her head. "Oh no, no, no, no.." she said quietly as the distance between them closed, Desi already starting to smirk. It was just like her to spring something like this.

She handed her the guilt trip.

Selene said hell no.

Desi casually promised Selene a black cup of coffee at the manor.

Selene was out the door and down the street.

"Oh stop looking so annoyed, it's an ugly expression."

Selene's lips were frowning as her shoulders dropped, her coat sliding down off her shoulders and grabbed the collar with her hand. Her head turned to look at Desi as she draped it over the coat rack near the door, three of the four pegs busted off of it and the rest covered in cobwebs and dust. "Why couldn't we talk at my flat? Okay, it may be a bit bare and empty, but honestly Desiree.. ," Selene sighed, looking around the entrance hall before glaring cooly back at her friend, hands setting up on her hips. "This is torture."

Oh don't complain, grow a backbone, Good Lord. Sure, Selene hadn't been a Gryffindor, but she didn't need to act like a bloody Hufflepuff. She had lived seven years of her life surrounded by people like this, she should be able to suck it up. As if her being a Healer had anything to do with it, it was simply an excuse. She had no trouble convincing Selene to come. Why? Because she bloody wanted to! She had wanted to since Desi had joined the Knights. Why?

Rabastan.

Plain and simple, it was one word and one word only. She liked to get all high n' mighty with her regarding Rodolphus, but honestly.. what she was doing was no better. Selene hardly brought it up anymore anyway, Desi tended to get very defensive very quickly. She did not appreciate being talked down to, and certainly by someone who had no right to do it.

But that was beside the point.

"Why couldn't we talk at my flat? Okay, it may be a bit bare and empty, but honestly Desiree.. ,"

She rolled her eyes as Selene sighed heavily, "Oh stop whining, would you? I can't leave very long, I have to keep checking in, you know that." She had only told her over a million times. Being a Knight was Desiree's job, just the same as Selene's job was to heal. Sure her's was a bit twisted, but nevertheless it meant the same to her.

"Well speak of the devil."

Rabastan Lestrange had just entered the manor, shaking the water off of his hair, and running his hands through it, "Good evening Miss Lamya.. " A long pause proceeded as he gazed at the girl next to him, "Miss Burroughs," He finished slowly.

Obviously he was a bit surprised to see her here.

Now really, Desi hadn't set that up. In fact, she hadn't even crossed her mind. To be quite honest, Selene was here for Desi's purproses and Desi's purposes only.

Whatever worked.

"Oh stop whining, would you? I can't leave very long, I have to keep checking in, you know that."

Selene turned her head, black hair whipping around to land swayed on the opposite shoulder that her head was turned to. Her hazel eyes were narrowed as she gaped at her friend. "I'm not whining, I'm simply stati-"

"Well speak of the devil."

Selene's head turned slightly as she glanced to where Desiree's eyes had ventured to. This day was just getting better and better, wasn't it? The thing between herself and Rabastan had ended abruptly, bitterly, and to be honest, empty. She hadn't talked about Rabastan in a long time, even to Desi. When you talk about someone enough, people get tired of hearing it, and Selene just.. stopped. It was those memories that had been burned into her brain that kept them coming. Every other thought had been about him, something they had said to one another, a drink they shared, what he liked to eat, and for Merlin's sake what his eye color reminded her of

Desi got tired of hearing it and Selene.. stopped.

It was depressing to remember.

Selene watched him, her almond shaped eyes slightly widened as he stepped through the doorway. For a moment, her eyes remained frozen and unblinking as he ran a dark hand through his black and soaked hair. Despite his attempting to slick it back, which would have made him look too much like his father and brother for Selene's taste, the unruly black hair curled and tipped forward again with heavy waterdrops.

"Miss Burroughs"

What do you do when your tounge goes numb? Selene's mouth opened gently, lips just parting as she gazed at him with dark eyes, moments ago lit with a light blue. ".. Rabastan," Selene said quietly, eyes still heavily on him. She had.. forgotton her manners, a bit. Selene softly cleared her throat as she shifted her weight, remembering and feeling Desi's attention on her as she glanced at her out of the corner of her eye before looking casually back at him.

"You look well," Selene paused, nodding her head at him. Looked well, Merlin he looked fantastic, the same as he had in school. Selene blinked, thin and black eyebrows raised as her head turned to Desiree at her side. "Well, we should be going.. ," she trailed off.

Let's go.

Away.

Did he not have perfect timing?

She was the very last person he needed to see. Certainly not wanted, but needed. He didn't need her coming back and complicating things. Did he want her to? Yes. Was getting what you want always a good thing? Not if it steps in front of what you need.

He did not need Selene at the present moment.

Did he want her?

Tedious question.

".. Rabastan,"

No, don't say that. Mister Lestrange, Master Lestrange would've been lovely. But Rabastan? No, too much baggage came with that name. He didn't like it coming from her lips. Well, he loved it, just not the feelings that dragged along after it.

She was just as uncomfortable as he was. He watched as she shifted slightly and cleared her throat. She was about to make her excuses. "Well, we should be going.. ,"

"No, I'm sure Master Lestrange would enjoy our company." A small smirk appeared at the corner of her lips as she spoke.

Two reasons.

Where ever Rabastan is, Rodolphus was bound to be close behind. And the second? She glanced over at Selene, winking with her good eye. That was the reason.

She could only imagine the vulgar language bouncing around in Selene's mind, this only caused her smirk to widen. She wasn't feeling particulary devillish today, she was simply being a good friend. This is what Selene wanted, and she was giving it to her.

So.. the baggage was a little heavy.

Ah, who gave a damn about baggage?

Baggage was easy to slip off.

"No, I'm sure Master Lestrange would enjoy our company."

Selene's eyes widened as Desi's lips curled, her eye flashing a wink. Was this a joke? Had Desi done this all on purpose? Why would she do this? Didn't she understand how hard this was? Selene's blood jumped, tickling under her skin as her eyes remained wide with suprise and shock but her lips firmly cut into a straight line as she stared blankly at her friend. Her friend, ha, that was cute.

"No, I'm sure he had other things to do," Selene looked at directly at Desi, focusing away from Rabastan who stood just out of the corner of her eye. Yes, he had a wife to attend to. Plenty of others things to do for Master Lestange then sit and enjoy his ex-girlfriend's cmpany.

Ex-girlfriend, good Merlin..

This was the last damn time that Rabastan got to call the carriage. The damn horses dropped them off at their usual spot, a block away to cause as little suspision as humanly possible to the great manor with two black figures heading inside of it. People tended to notice that, muggles or not. It raised unwanted questions and when there were questions, there were investigations. Rabastan walked up the stairs first, both of them already dripping from head to toe with rain, and Rodolphus slowly followed.

The door remained open slightly as his brother stepped in, Rabastan standing frozen in front of the door. "Move out of the way, Rabastan. You take up the entire bloody doorway," Rodolphus muttered from behind his brother as he waited outside on the step in the rain. His hands pushed down into his pockets and head drooped down to try and prevent the wind chill fram slapping him in the face anymore then it already had.

Rabastan slowly moved and Rodolphus slipped in beside him, quickly shaking his head free of raindrops and combing his fingers back through it. He had never been fond of slicking it back, he looked like his father for the most part (which wasn't a bad thing), but desperate times of rain and a soaked head called for desperate measures.

By the time he was done adjusting his hair, he looked up to be greeted by.. oh Merlin, what was her name? Burroughs.. Rabastan's old.. whatever she was. Selene! That's right. It was Selene Burroughs, that pretty young Healer from the hospital. He had been suprised when Rabastan managed to get her. Throughly suprised; Father had been as well.

"No, I'm sure Master Lestrange would enjoy our company."

"No, I'm sure he had other things to do,"

Rodolphus looked at Desi, smirking a bit. "Evening darling," his eyes trailed over Selene, then back once more to Desi. "What's this about your company?" Rodolphus understood it. It wasn't exactly hard to get what was going on, or trying to go on. Rodolphus cupped his brother's shoulder, shaking him a bit until his brother looked down to match his brother's eyes.

"We're free for the night."

Yes, he was.

Rabastan just sort of.. froze. He looked at Desiree for a moment, who appeared to be trying to keep them together. He found that interesting all together, seeing as Rabastan had not mentioned Selene to anyone since they had broken up. Had he thought about her? More than he would ever care to admit. He did not want to read into Desiree's actions, he didn't think she had brought Selene here for him.

That'd be.. foolish.

He vaugly heard Rodolphus muttering angrily behind him. He shifted his wait, forcing himself to move out of the way as Rodolphus slipped in, whining as usual. However, he could feel his brother's mood lighten considerably when his eyes landed on the women before him.

Honestly, if Rabastan had been forced to answer.. he wouldn't have. He simply would've stood here like a mute, staring blankly at Desiree and Selene. Did he appreciate being put on the spot? Well, really Desiree had already made the decision for him. She was determined they spend time together, as she blatantly ignored Selene's frustrated and obvious attempts to leave.

Oh.. lovely.

He felt Rodolphus' hand on his shoulder. "We're free for the night." He nodded his head a bit numbly, still trying to piece together what had just happened. It was all rather abrupt, and it had hit him rather sharply in the stomach.

Free.. right.

Oh honestly.

It seemed as though Desiree had rendered them both deaf and dumb. Selene was trying hard not to glare daggers in her direction, while Desi went on smirking, a small quirk in her lip. Was it amusing? Of course! That was one reason she kept at it.

An angry growl came from behind Rabastan's mass. As masculine and whiney as it sounded, she knew it was Rodolphus. See? She was an absolute genious. Where ever Rabastan was, Rodolphus was scampering along after him.

That was cute.

"Evening darling,"

Her smirk widened as she nodded her head in acknowledgement, "Rodolphus." Neither of them said a word. Oh honestly..

"What's this about your company?"

"Master Lestrange, although he has yet to say a word, apparently has better things to do, rather than spend his time with us." She glanced over at the girl next to her, "Selene insists we have matters to attend to as well, but at the moment nothing is ringing a bell.. "

Liars, the whole lot of them.

"We're free for the night."

"As I predicted."

All too amusing..

"Rodolphus."

If Selene could pick a time that those two brothers were apart, it'd be now. Before it had been only bareable because she had Rabastan's company, and honestly that alone could make numerous things more than bareable. There were countless times that she, comfortably situated in his lap, and Rabastan, during school, had forgot where they were. In public; Merlin, they had a hard time remembering that. Just staring at him now brought back flashes of haunting and familar memories. They were posionous thoughts. Selene enjoyed them, remembering all the hand-holding and sneaking out to see him after curfew, but too much of a good thing can kill your brain.

And.. well, and your heart..

"Master Lestrange, although he has yet to say a word, apparently has better things to do, rather than spend his time with us. Selene insists we have matters to attend to as well, but at the moment nothing is ringing a bell.. "

See, the brain was already failing prey to the images. Those damned, evil thoughts. First, they massage her mind with bliss before turning right around and stabbing her through the heart. Selene had wanted to object, say something intelligent and sneak her way out the front door. Was it possible to make your office owl arrive telepathically? That was it! Just call out to her owl.. have it bring a note saying someone is.. someone is.. has the plague.. and Selene is very much needed back at work!

That.. wouldn't work.

"Master Lestrange, although he has yet to say a word, apparently has better things to do, rather than spend his time with us."

Rodolphus looked sideways at his brother, almost shaking his head. It was times like these whenever he doubted Rabastan's blood hertiage. The girl wasn't showing much emotion, maybe suprise, right now but Selene sure as hell wasn't objecting to Rabastan's company. She wanted him, and Rabastan was willing to let that go?

Whatever Rabastan did in his past time was his own idiotic business, but Rodolphus had noted that smirk on Desi's lips. She was happy. Do you have any idea what that could possible mean for Rodolphus if Miss Lamya stayed chipper, and Selene had someone to babysit her for a bit?

"Selene insists we have matters to attend to as well, but at the moment nothing is ringing a bell.. "

Rabastan wasn't that bad of company.

Merlin, was it the wedding ring that turned her off, then? It wouldn't be like the man couldn't slip it off and they could pretend for an hour that he was a single man. Rodolphus didn't understand what the hell she was protesting about so firmly.

"As I predicted."

"Upstairs, then?" Rodolphus' hand was still on his brother's shoulder, giving it another small shake. Rodolphus turned his head, lips still smirking, to look at his older sibling. "We can use Rabastan's room."

... and leave her there. Rodolphus could carry Desi down the hall two doors to his own private room and just leave the tag along far behind with his brother. The man needed to get fucked, it was going to make him insane.

He did not appreciate this in the least. Sure seeing Selene again was all fine and dandy, but that didn't mean they needed to make this a little get-together. At the present moment, Rabastan could not handle more than one woman. He didn't need Selene weighing heavily on his mind as he bickered and smoldered about his wife. She was enough of a whore-ish, bitchy woman to last years. Selene would sit there and remind him over and over again of how stupid he had been.

Rabastan did not enjoy dwelling on his less-than appeasing decisions. Selene was the embodiment of one of the worst. She needed to leave.. go away, he didn't want her here, all she would do is wreak havoc on his exhausted mind. She shouldn't be here anyhow, she didn't belong in the Riddle Manor. For God's sake, she was a Healer, she took care of the people they mutilated.

Rabastan felt Rodolphus' hand on his shoulder. Goddamnit, he was going to ignore Rabastan's telepathical pleads. Why? Because he wanted to be cute, and he wanted to fuck something tonight. Horny little bastard, he did not need this tonight.

"Upstairs, then?"

Not upstairs. Bad things were upstairs, such as his wife, the Dark Lord, his room, beds.. But Rodolphus was smirking broadly, and with his hair slicked back he looked sickeningly like Master Lestrange. Rabastan pushed his little brother's hand off of his shoulder, and brought his hand to the man's hair, violently raking his finger through it, "Don't slick it back." He muttered, looking away from the group and off to the side.

Rodolphus hadn't appreciated that.

See, it was a nice subtle way of getting him back, as well as fixing that little appearance problem.

"We can use Rabastan's room."

Oh sure, sure. The one that belonged to his wife and him. The one she never slept in, but visited every now and then. The one that he had come to hate quite a bit. No, why would they take a trip to there? Why not Rodolphus' room?

Because he didn't want company when he could finally leave Rabastan and Selene alone. Did he honestly think that was going to work? That he could simply walk out of the room and leave the two sitting in silence? The bastard had his own secret agenda.

Rabastan was not stupid.

He bowed his head and shrugged his shoulders, and walked out of the entrance hall, his expression stone and blank, his posture speaking of stress and perhaps a bit of confusion.

Merlin..

"Don't slick it back."

Rodolphus frowned. What was that about? You didn't just mess up a man's hair for nothing. He knew why, of course, but Rabastan had thought pulling the older brother act in front of two girls would be a slap in the face. It was rather irritating, however. It reminded Rodolphus of their childhood, Rabastan towering over him even more then, and the hell that he gave his younger brother. Of course, Rabastan had his various reasons for chasing the younger one around the dining room table with father's wand clenched in his little fist.

Rodolphus would rip chunks of black silk hair from his brother's head when they were children. This was.. payback. He knew that much. You live with the man enough and this subtle, but irritating, act was nothing but payback. As he got older, the abuse got smaller. Now it was just irritating, before it was.. painful.

Rodolphus' hand quickly went to his hair as Rabastan walked away towards the stairs. Desi hung back, and Selene's feet remained planted like she was frozen. He raked his fingers back through it, slicking it at his part forward and then to the side. He was a arse, a fucking arse.. you don't touch a man's hair. If it stuck up now, he'd slit his throat in his sleep.

Rodolphus lowered his hand and slid his arm around Desi's waist, a firm and thin line plastered on his lips. Selene was still standing there. "Get going," he muttered, nodded towards the stairs that his brother was beginning to climb. Selene stared at him, eyes narrowed as she flashed her gaze from Desi to himself. Rodolphus pulled Desi up the stairs with him, hugged her hip aganist his as they walked up behind Rabastan.

Selene hesitated.

And hesitated.

Rodolphus paused on the top of the stairs closely behind his brother. His eyebrow lifted as he looked back over his shoulder at the girl at the bottom of the steps as she slowly, very slowly walkedup the first few steps.

Merlin it was like pulling teeth...

Good God Selene.

She stood there stalk still, simply staring at them as though they had just suggested she go prance around naked in front of the Dark Lord himself. Desi rolled her eyes, and forced an impatient sigh back. She was so full of shit.

She wanted to reach over and yank her, drag her up the stairs even if she was kicking and screaming. However, Selene didn't mean one damn thing she was doing. She wanted to be with him, regardless of her actions. She was simply being a bitch, because she couldn't think of anything better to do.

Gods, come on.

Finally, as she felt Rodolphus tug her up the stairs, Selene slowly followed. She was climbing the stairs at a snail's pace, and Desi felt her patience growing thinner and thinner. She wanted this, Desi knew it, Selene knew it, hell Rodolphus probably knew it as well. For anyone that knew the girl, they knew it was the inevitable.

Selene was trying to deny it.

Well, that was annoying.

Finally Desiree turned completley around, breaking away from Rodolphus' hip, and glared down at her friend, "Selene would you mind forcing your heart to pump a bit faster? Hurry the hell up, stop acting like you're walking to your execution."

She was so full of shit.

Rabastan sighed heavily, opening his door and walking straight over to the loveseat, sinking down into it. He laid his head back, slowly rubbing his temples as he closed his eyes. Merlin, he did not want to deal with this right now. It was not at the top of his to-do list.

He heard the others enter his room, the floorboards creaking under their weight. Oh please.. go away, just leave him alone. She was simply patronizing him, coming into this room.

Gods, what if she sat on the bed?

Someone up there liked to tease with irony.

Why was Selene the only person who saw anything wrong with this?

There was something really, really wrong with this. Selene had to be the only one with any sense left, even Rabastan was following suit. Wait- he was following suit. He.. wan- no. There was no room in her head for the kind of thoughts. Selene didn't need to let herself fall for that all over again just for him to find that way to let her down. Could she blame him? No; but she did blame herself. Father was right; he cared enough to enjoy her company. You know what? Selene agreed. It was foolish of her to think otherwise.

Here she was though, all the same. Selene was walking right into it. What could she possibly do? Turn around and just walk out? Sure, and have Desi chase her down the steps and drag her by her hair like a rabid animal back upstairs, all the while, looking worse in front of Rabastan. It was better to go through Hell with pride then be dragged back through the flames with shame, right? Right.

Right..?

Selene's feet dragged at every step. She tried to make each one go slower then the last. Selene's legs stepped like she was nothing short of being a mentally retarded cripple who had trouble contemplating the idea of stepping up the stairs. If that's what it took to prolonged the exucution..

"Selene would you mind forcing your heart to pump a bit faster? Hurry the hell up, stop acting like you're walking to your execution."

Took the words right out of her mouth, Desiree.

Her heart? Selene listened for it. My gods, it was pumping like a freight train. It was bashing through her ribcage with every long step, every lift of her muscles and placement of her footing. It was hammering into the wall, pounding, bashing, breaking through with pure and simple fear and.. yearning? Desire? Wanting? In a way, she didn't like being so far behind him. The view behind Desiree and Rodolphus was less then pleasing, especially when he leaned over and whispered something darkly in her ear. Selene frowned, peering around Desiree's shoulders to try and find something more heart-warming to stare at for the long walk down the white hallway.

White hallways; that was a metaphor. This manor had no white hallways. Hell, it had no 'white'.

Selene hesitanted at the door though her mind was urging her feet silently to move along. Rodolphus and Desi turned so simply, as if it wasn't a chore at all, into his bedroom. Oh Merlin, his bloody bedroom. That woman, she was here? No, not now, Selenw as sure Desi wasn't that cruel.

But.. she was.. sometimes..

Selene licked her dry lips as she took a step inside, Rodolphus already gently shutting the door behind her. Just by the look in his eye, the man had been waiting for her. Rodolphus always had to make her feel worse, now he was making sure she understood that she was caged in. She resisted the urge to slap that devilish smirk off his face.

Selene resisted.

She.. no, she resisted.

Rodolphus dropped into the bed lazily, his feet crossing over on another as Desi sat down on the edge of the bed. Selene found she was still standing at the door with her back aganist it like a caged rat, searching for means to escape. Escape; now that sounded fantastic. Selene's eyes drifted over the lavish room, ending up on Rabastan massaging his temples painfully. He.. sounded fantastic, too.

Didn't he?

He did.

Selene was having trouble thinking properly. The ability to make up her mind was out the window and she was no constantly second guessing her own thoughts. Rodolphus' lifted his upper body up for a moment, gripping Desiree's forearm and yanking her back on the bed with him and forcing her next to him. He lounged like he owned the room. Rodolphus' hands slid underneath of his head while it relaxed loosely on the pillow, his feet crossed as he stared at his brother, then at Desi.

"The way I see it darling," Selene looked over at Rodolphus who was now looking at her, smirking widely once again as he fingered with Desiree's beltloop. "You have three choices of where to place that arse of yours, one being the floor.. the other being over here, on my lap, and the third is innocently beside my dear older brother."

Rodolphus winked.

Funny. Cute. Hilarous.

Selene wished he would just get run over by a run-away carriage.

Selene looked like a caged, wild animal. She stood almost pressed against the door, her eyes wide, and darting back and forth. Despite the quickness of her retinas, her mind seemed to be in slow-motion. She stood there at the door for ages, trying to decide how to handle the situation. Desiree wanted to slap her forehead. She was making herself look like an absolute idiot. Honestly, it was not that big of a deal. Must Desi continue to repeat herself like a broken record?

Selene wanted it. Rabastan wanted it. Desiree knew it, Rodolphus knew it, the two of them knew it. So why in God's name were they at a standstill? Because Selene insisted on being hard-headed and unrelenting. She was too damn stubborn for her own good, she was even ignoring her personal wishes. Desi didn't want to say it aloud, she really didn't. It would be a bit painful for herself, as well as pretty goddamn embarrassing for Rabastan and Selene.

Just do the right thing.

But she didn't. She continued to stand there like a growth on the wall, staring. Rodolphus had sprawled himself lesiurely across the bed, laid out like he owned the world and everything in it. He was smirking widely, finding it all pretty damn amusing. Desi found it slightly so, at least all the blatant ignoring from the two of them. However the longer Selene stood there, the more it simply became annoying.

Oh Selene probably thought she was being a complete bitch, making her go through with this. Tomorrow morning the girl would be thanking her. She understood what Desi was doing, and it ticked her off. But by tomorrow morning she would no longer be angry. Desi was doing her a bloody favor, she simply needed to remember that. But she wouldn't, not until tomorrow morning.

Desi sat at the bottom of the bed, gazing steadily at Selene, waiting for her to make some sort of a move. But she did not make one. It almost seemed like an enternity, and every eye on the room was on her, except for the ones at the back who refused to acknowledge their presence. He was just as much in denial as Selene. Oh honestly, this was becoming nothing short of absurd.

She felt Rodolphus' fingers wrap around her arm and yank her back into a laying positon. Asking would be too damned easy. However she didn't say a word as she continued staring at her friend. Gods stop it, this was getting painful.

"You have three choices of where to place that arse of yours, one being the floor.."

Please don't.

"the other being over here, on my lap,"

Hah, oh how cute you are.

" and the third is innocently beside my dear older brother."

Selene continued to hesitate.

Desi sighed heavily, "Selene if you make one move to sit down on that damned floor, I'm blasting your arse."

Don't be silly.

"Selene if you make one move to sit down on that damned floor, I'm blasting your arse."

Selene's body had just moved to lower itself down to sit on the damp floored carpet. Her eyes met Desiree's for a brief moment, pleading with her to just open the door and let her go home before raising her body back up. She would rather get her arse removed then take a sit on Rodolphus. The things that stuck up on him.. ugh, Selene wanted to retch. Her imagination was getting the best of her. The feeling of his member digging in-

Selene mentally winced, shaking her head violently.

It was a loveseat, Selene noticed as she walked over to it trying to hold her head up high. You know how much space is on a loveseat, especially with Rabastan's body and spread out legs taking up more then half the couch's cushion? About room for a half a person. Selene looked back over at the bed, the couple watching her expectantly before looking down at Rabastan. Her hazel eyes falling down his cheek, along his thick and strong jawline, and around his lips..

Selene needed the swallow. He was still marr-

Marr-

An asshole. Selene was fine with just leaving it at that. Rabastan left her and that was all that needed to be said about it. "Rabastan, move your arse for the lady," Rodolphus said loudly to his brother just as Selene was about to take a step backwards from him to the door. Before Rodolphus' words had a chance to leave his mouth, Selene's backside already lowered itself down and for a moment, rested on his knee. Selene's eyes widened briefly as she apologized under her breath, trying to shift her body weight to one side and off of his lap. He made her uncomfortable, and angry. Rabastan brought out the bitterness that was overshadowed by her silence.

"Rabastan, move your arse for the lady,"

Shut the hell up. It was his own goddamn fault Selene was in here in the first place. She should still be downstairs, standing in the entrance hall. In fact, she shouldn't even be here in the Riddle Manor at all. She should be in her white coat, seated at her mahogany desk reviewing her patients, not in here looking like they had a wand pointed at her head.

Did that make him feel lovely?

Why of course!

"Rodolphus, shut up." He growled moodily. Just for once in you goddamn life, could you close that mouth? He knew it was a long, long stretch, so he'd be sure to offer his assistance. They all needed to get the hell out, he didn't want any of them here. She didn't need to come over here, she could go sit on Rodolphus' lap.

Right.

She didn't need to stand so close either. He was about to force his eyes back open, when his eyebrows shot to his hairline. He felt her weight resting on his knee for a bit longer than a split-second. He opened one eye and watched her as she stood, embarrassed as hell.

Gods, don't do that.

He shifted his weight, closing his legs slightly so she could sit down. That had been just as awkward as anything else that had occured in the past fifteen minutes. He knew what Desiree and Rodolphus were doing, and all it did was tick him off.

He could hear Rodolphus snickering, and he could feel his smirk burning through his eyelids, "Go to hell." He said roughly, pointing it directly to Rodolphus.

Bastard.
