No joke, they decided to tell everyone two weeks before release. But pretty much, the whole PC community, is cancelling their pre-orders and not getting the game at all. Hectic!
To Stryker, who I know is very confused right now...
This means you can not buy (and I can not make) a clan server for this game. You can only play on IW-hosted servers that automatically dump you in a server according to your "skill level." This makes the chances of us being able to play on the same server also fairly slim.
Now, Xfire may circumvent this. We shall see.

Wow, thanks for insulting me in front of the clan without knowing what you're talking about bro.
I know exactly what a dedicated server is. I may ask a lot of questions about COMPUTERS but I know gaming just fine thanks.
Well Shawn, you DID quit FPS gaming on PC pretty much. Where dedicated servers are only involved. He wasn't trying to insult you. You rarely game now as is.

Chillax. You know me, It was a joke. It also cleared it up in case anyone else was confused. Nothing meant by it.

Haha, this almost makes it sound like there's come clan-wide conspiracy against Stryker's gaming knowledge...

Rev, I mean you're right. I don't like dedicated servers quite frankly, that's how you get server drama and admins and all that hoohah, though it does make it easier for us to get on the same team.
Halo 3 on Xbox Live is still the only shooter game worth playing to me: best multiplayer action and features you could ask for. Tons of gametypes, maps, video recording capabilities, you can get on the same team as your friends easy, the game play is solid and exciting... I could go on and on. But ya, I don't even get to game so... : /

Yeah Shawn, so you see, it would be alright for someone who like you who doesn't have much time to play and just wants to hop in and kick some ass.
But I know most of the FPS PC players like to play on the same couple of servers, with set rules, gametypes, good people running it, good people playing on it.
Cater's to their needs. I mean we do have a far more expensive system, that requires more care, and more knowledge in general to handle. It's sophisticated, so the things we do on it, may seem confusing to the newbies to the PC gaming world if they don't have a hand to hold on the way into it. But not only this, but they raised the game $10, which apparently isn't necessary for a PC game, but they took away MODs, Gaming Leagues, Communities, and basis for most clans. On top of this, unless their P2P is somehow amazing, there will be lots of lag, hard times finding good matches, childish griefers, cheap tactics, and host advantage. Not to mention the few lag switchers here and there.
I ranted. lolol
@Blue; Haha. Well I didn't know if you were serious or not, but I know you didn't mean anything. Joking or not.
I figured he was joking but he knows I hate when he insults my intelligence, haha.
Ya, I mean I totally understand the desire for dedicated servers. Don't forgot, I ran one and owned one during our JKA glory days, and we've had plenty of glory days of pwning on certain BF2, BF2142, CSS and CoD4 servers.
(god damn we've had some good times!)
Anyway, good luck to you guys. I'll probably just play this new Modern Warfare game in like a year or two when it's on my gamefly queue, after playing 50 other games i'm intersted in, and after I play the World at War game that is still on my queue.

Wow this really sucks. I mean, the main reason I play PC FPS's over Console is because of dedicated servers with good admins, good players and good custom game settings. Mouse and Keyboard being a big factor of course, but dedicated servers is a big deal.
PC games have always been $50 compared to their $60 console couter-parts. It makes no sense to do that. It's like IW is trying to push Online PC gaming over to Online Console gaming, which really should be the other way around.
Poop on IW. I'm sure the game will be great for Console gamers. I just can't stand Dualshock3s for FPS's and I don't see myself getting a 360 anytime soon.

I might look into it for 360... again I definitely like the console approach. Again, it seems so much harder to hack into non-dedicated servers, and if it's done the way Halo 3 is, it's still easy to be on the same team for stuff with buddies and clan mates.
