The Aberdeen Constituion calls for the founder to hold the role of president. This is a role which Dundee East resigned about a year ago, HOWEVER, Uroca will have a founder and that foudner has not resigned the post of President. How do you see the President working with your government?

Good thing I decided to check the forum again tonight. laugh.gif

I see the president working with the prime minister and the interim government to help the integration process of the merged region run smoothly, and thus also to help prepare for the permanent government to go into effect. He also serves as a sort of keystone that helps hold the region together and unified.

If I am elected, I see myself going to Imperfectia for advice. The president isn't just a figurehead, he's also a sort of mentor for the PM. Not only does he have knowledge of the NS world, but also of Aberdeen.

Well, I feel that the Prime Minister and the President would work as equals, each running their branch of government in co-operation for the betterment of the region. Part of the President's duty, as I understand it, is insuring the Prime Minister never oversteps his/her bounds, nor any member of the executive branch. An important job, and even the best of Prime Minister's may need reigning in sometimes, and given my utmost respect for Imperfectia, this wouldn't be much of a problem.

Legalitiy and government aside, I no doubt, assuming I win, will find myself at many points deferring to Imperfectia for advice on how to run the government. This is how I see the President, as not just another weight on the scale of government, but as an important source of advice and aid for the PM. Same as the Speaker of the House. Assuming he is doing his job correctly, he represents the people, and as such provides a unified method of accessing the needs and wants of the population at large. And it is serving the region as a whole that is the ultimate duty of the Prime Minister, and what I will strive for should I win.
