{X} {X} Precious doll.

A sweet smile

that leaves a lasting impression.

Name: Chizue Umeko
Pronunciation: CHEE-zoo OO-may-koh.
Meaning: Chizue - thousand storks (long life), Umeko - plum blossom child.
Nickname/Alias: Chizue, Chi.
Age: Nineteen.
Birth Date: Spring 3rd.
Birthplace: Tokyo, Japan.
Nationality: Japanese/Finnish. Her father is Japanese and her mother is Finnish.
Residence: Pearl Drop Teahouse.
Occupation: None.

Face of a child,

mind of a dreamer.

Chizue is a strong optimist and has a cheery, if not slightly clueless disposition with a tendency to be forgetful. She always looks on the bright side of things, and encourages others to do the same. She adores being the center of attention and will go to incredible lengths just to make sure she is the main focus. She loves games, and will assume you to take time out of your busy schedule to play with her. Though simpleminded, she provides good companionship and her sweet smile is very contagious. Her laughter sounds like the chime of a bell, and she sometimes giggles uncontrollably for no apparent reason. She is not shy by any means, and sometimes will babble on about nothing. She tends to speak without thinking, but is very rarely embarrassed by the words she blurts out. It is impossible to satiate her ravenous curiosity, or her appetite. Chizue adores food and one of the quickest routes to her heart is through sugary delights. She also has a special place in her heart reserved for fairytales, of beautiful princesses and their knights in shining armor. She knows these are nothing but make-believe stories, but she often gets caught up in her own fantasies.

The tiniest thing can flare her painfully short temper, leading to heated arguments that truly serve no purpose. Chizue can be very selfish and stubborn, especially if something doesn't go her way. She refuses to be wrong, and will quickly take to defending her side of a dispute. If she is having a feud with someone, the offsetting fact of it is that the next day she will act like it never occurred, due to her absent-minded nature. She is incredibly self-centered and normally won't do something unless there's something in it for her, and she is ruthless when it comes to getting what she wants. Chizue wishes to preserve her independence and to be treated like a responsible adult, though it is difficult for others to take her seriously with the 'fragile little doll' image she presents to the world. She loves winning, no matter how silly the game, and is determined to emerge victorious at all costs. Some people think of her as a nuisance, though she is just trying to get your attention and annoying you tends to be the most successful method with the results she's looking for.

When you first meet her, she is sugary-sweet but extremely nosy to the point of rudeness. If Chizue finds you interesting, she will follow you around a lot, asking questions that she expects you to answer, no matter how personal they may be. She doesn't seem to like to talk about sad things, and if it comes up on her behalf she will normally just pretend she hadn't said anything. If you ask her to meet you somewhere, she will forget without frequent reminders. Once she gets to know you, you will find yourself in a lot of useless quarrels with her over trivial things. It may take her a while to realize and admit how childish she's being, and not without someone openly confronting her about it. If you are bold enough to do that, you may just find a friend in a very unpredictable person. Chizue is very loyal to those she considers her friends, and values your thoughts and feelings more than anything. She will go out of her way just to see you smile.

She'll never be perfect,

only perfect for someone.

She is hotheaded, and can be extremely selfish. Her naivety is astounding at times. Appearance-wise, Chizue considers her forehead to be too big and wishes she looked older with more matured features. She is unable to cook anything edible, and is physically very weak.

Blue eyes and pouted lips,

you'll be charmed at a glance.

Face:

Chizue's little face is generally round in shape, with a neat, pointed chin and subtly distinguished cheekbones. It gives her a soft look and possesses very few angles within it to grant her babyish features any extra definition. Her cheeks are plump and rosy, accompanied by a tiny button nose designed for effective wrinkling and a pouted lower lip used to her advantage. She has small, cuffed ears that are usually hidden by her hair. When she is angry or embarrassed, her entire face flushes a deep scarlet that is often mistaken for a hot flash or fever. She has a broad forehead that made her a popular target for bullies in her youth, and much to her dismay she still receives a smart remark or two discerning it today.

Eyes:

She has large, limpid 'doe-eyes' of a soft blue color, generously accented by long, thick lashes. They give her a very innocent and guileless appearance, but at certain times can grant her an unimaginably tragic and heartbreaking facade. Her emotions can easily be deciphered through her chaste, mirrorlike orbs. Chizue always makes eye contact when talking to people, and due to the sheer enormity of her eyes, it can sometimes be unnerving for whoever she is sharing a conversation with. She tends to stare, and will not look away abashedly if you catch her in the act. Her eyes are normally the first thing people learn to distinguish her by.

Hair:

Chizue's fair locks are very long and fine, but impeccably groomed and well-cared for. A river of pale blond runs down her back as smooth as flowing water, the silky strands ending in an even cut just at her waist. She very rarely is seen without her chalky mane floating around her in a harmonious manner, but on certain occasions she will wear it fashioned into two high pigtails on either side of her head, dangling free for the simple purpose of bobbing along to her movements. A curtain of shorter strands settle onto her brow in a hopeless effort to try and minimize the size of her forehead. She likes to adorn her flaxen tresses with charming trinkets and hair accessories, especially over-sized bows. Her halo of hair is her pride and joy.

Body:

Due to her childlike features, the age her appearance conveys is much younger than she truly is. Chizue has small hands and feet to match her size-depleted body, and owns very few defining curves to indicate her as the matured and womanly individual she wishes she was. She has no chest to boast of, or hips to be desired by men. She feels inclined to make up for this lack of femininity with an overdose of frills, lace and anything else that is considered strictly for her gender. This unfortunately does the opposite, and merely causes her to appear even more infantile. She stands at a measly five feet that constantly forces her to look up at people, and weighs a nonexistent ninety-three pounds. Her fragile frame and overall petite structure is best compared to that of a life-sized china doll.

Drowning in beauty,

underneath she's still the same.

Chizue's attire year-round are basically dresses in varied forms, altered appropriately to better suit the weather of each season and complete with matching accessories. Her style can be described as Lolita.

Spring- Pale pastel colors. Sweet, saccharine dresses decorated in an abundance of frills with skirts that fall just below her knees.

Summer- Bright and flashy patterns. Cute little sleeveless dresses fashioned from lightweight fabric with short, playful skirts.

Fall- Saturated jewel tones. More modest dresses made of a thicker material with long, layered skirts and intricate embroidery.

Winter- Calming and subdued shades. Heavy, elaborate dresses that look much too big on her with full-bodied skirts and fine detailing.

It's the simple pleasures

that we forget to enjoy.

1) Fancy clothes- She always wears frivolous outfits and dresses as her everyday attire, even if it isn't a special occasion.
2) Sweets- Homemade desserts, baked confections and sweet foods are her favorite things to eat.
3) Company- She gets lonely very easily, and enjoys being around others whether a conversation is shared or not.
4) Gardening- She loves raising and caring for fragrant blossoms in her Obasan's garden.
5) Femininity- She has a soft spot for flowers, jewelry, perfumes, or anything else that makes her feel more feminine.
6) Sewing- She is a talented seamstress with a passion for designing and fabricating outfits, as well as with a needle and thread.

Overcoming challenges

make it worth it in the end.

1) Authority- She hates being told what to do, or people saying that she can't do something.
2) Being ignored- When she wants attention, she demands that you give it to her.
3) Animals- She is terrified of most animals that are not of the stuffed variety.
4) Water- She doesn't know how to swim and has an intense fear of drowning.
5) Flirting- It isn't that she dislikes flirting, but more that she doesn't understand it or realize when someone is doing it.

You can't change your past,

but you can change your future.

Childhood-

Chizue was an only child born born to young parents in their twenties, who had not expected nor were ready to raise a daughter. They were in the prime of their lives, a wealthy, upper class couple maintaining a hustle-and-bustle life in Tokyo city. Her father was a very traditional man, deeply attached to his ancestry and his job that took him all over the world. Her mother was a delicate women with light hair and a fair completion, the physical opposite of her husband but with the same devotion to travel. They had a luxurious mansion to call home, so large that Chizue often found herself lost in the maze of richly-clad rooms. When her parents were away on business they left her in the company of her many toys, but when they planned to leave for longer periods of time they assigned her a nanny that did as she was instructed, but paid little attention to her otherwise. She ached for her parent's attention, and did all she could to earn their praise. She drew pictures to surprise them upon their arrival home, but they regarded the drawings with little interest. She was unsatisfied with the gifts they showered her with to compensate for their absence, and ultimately felt neglected. Even in school she was shunned, dressed too pompously with a forehead that was a popular topic for jesting.

Adolescence-

As she got older, Chizue's parents spent more and more time away from home, and so did their daughter. She would slip out of the mansion unnoticed at night to explore underneath the bright lights of the city without the knowledge of her caretaker, and return at the crack of dawn for a few hours of sleep before she was woken up for school. During class she was nearly always on the verge of sleep, and her grades began to drop. After her first taste of freedom, she met a strange boy who lived off of the streets, shabbily dressed and poorly groomed but with a remarkable smile that deemed his other features unimportant. He constantly teased her for her large forehead, but they soon became inseparable. He would lead her around the city, revealing the true nature of the world outside of her own sheltered life. She had never been on the receiving end of such attention. On more than one occasion she offered for him to come and live with her, but each time he happily declined and repeated that the streets were his home. She could not sway him from his decision, so did her best to meet with him whenever she could.

Adulthood-

Over the years Chizue grew attached to her Osananajim, for he was her only true friend. She also developed a love of designing clothes, and spent days at a time in her room slaving over her sewing machine and pricking herself with needles. One morning when she had returned home from a visit to the city, she found that her parents had come back early from one of their trips. They were infuriated to find that she had been sneaking out, and that she had been ignoring her studies. She had been so consumed by her designing, that she had just barely been able to graduate from her private school with the very minimum requirements. Her parents had not had any influence on how she managed her priorities at all. They sent her to live in Cherry Village for a year in hopes that her aunt would be able to teach her about respect and discipline that were the very underlying principals of Ishiko's art as a Geisha and Chizue's own Japanese heritage itself. When she isn't running errands for Ishiko, she can be found tending to the gardens at the teahouse, working on her latest fashion apparel, or just wandering around the town. She is trying to make the most her life, though can't help but wonder what happened to her dear Osananajimi.

What little she has

she makes up for in love.

Money: 3,000G.
Personal: Wardrobe, diary, sewing equipment and accessories.
Gifts: Necklace from her Osananajimi.
Extra: Gardening tools.

Take her heart

but please don't break it.

Friendship: Very easy. Chizue can find a friend in anyone. If you want to be her friend, chances are she will want to be yours too. And even if you don't, she'll still consider you one.
Romance: Medium-hard. Her picture of love is butterflies, red cheeks and stuttering. It can be difficult for you to get your feelings of affection through to her, due to her clueless nature.
Sexuality: Heterosexual.
Martial Status: Single.

It takes a long time to build

and a shorter time to destroy.

"You're a meanie! Go away!"
Chizue has no fondness of you whatsoever, which is odd since she normally likes everyone. You must have done something drastic for her to deem you as a bully. Could you have possibly made a comment about her forehead, or told her what to do?

user posted image Dislikes.
"-pouts-"
Chizue doesn't seem to like you very much. Her bottom lip droops when she sees you, and she huffs irritably. She doesn't appreciate being treated like a child, or ignored. She will tolerate your presence, but that doesn't necessarily mean she likes you.

user posted image Indifference.
"Huh..."
So, you haven't exactly caught Chizue's attention, but it might in your best interest. You're just another person she passed on the street while hopping over cracks in the ground. Nothing special for her to gawk at. Or maybe you just didn't notice her either.

user posted image Just met.
"Domo~! Haven't I seen you somewhere before?"
Chizue is starting to recognize your face, but not necessarily your name. She will likely mispronounce it, or just not remember it at all. But it's a step in the right direction, unless you ignore her energetic greetings or treat her like a baby.

user posted image Friends.
"What's the matter? Smile~!"
Chizue has gotten to know you and considers you her friend, even if you don't return the feeling. If you aren't smiling even for a second, she'll ask you about it and bug you until you do. She likes to follow you around and be a nuisance.

user posted image Best Friends.
"(name)-chan/kun, will you play with meee?"
Chizue has taken to you well and She will use 'kun, 'chan' and other Japanese honorifics after your name, and say them as cutely as she knows how for added emphasis. She may even force you to model her clothes for her!

user posted image Crush.
"Shinyuu, let's have lunch together!"
Though she may not make it obvious, Chizue has a little crush on you! She craves your attention, and will give you hugs out of the blue. Her jealousy of other girls quickly becomes apparent, and she will make sure they know that YOU are HERS.

user posted image Big Crush.
"Uhn, I have to go, I don't feel well..."
Chizue doesn't understand the concept of love, and is unfamiliar with these feelings of affection she harbors for you. She blushes uncontrollably at everything you say, and will use every excuse she can think of to avoid you.

user posted image Relationship or married.
"You make me feel all bubbly inside~! I love you, and I'm so happy that you're mine!"
At this point, Chizue has revealed her love for you, and you have confessed your own feelings in return. She still can't seem to believe that you are hers, and gazes at you with sheer adoration. You hold her heart now and forever.

Stranger-san

Thread: The Harvest Goddess Festival.

Friendship:

Romance:

Thoughts: What a strange man... He doesn't seem to know the harm he's doing to himself by smoking those awful cigarettes! He doesn't say much, but he is a worthy opponent for the champion of all staring contests, who still remains undefeated! He was determined, which I appreciate, but I still came out on top! We'll have to play another game together to give him a chance to redeem himself. I don't remember ever catching his name, either... if he ever threw it, that is. Or maybe I just wasn't listening. Oh well, I'm sure I'll see him lurking around~! And hopefully not with those cancer sticks...

Sumiyaka-chan!

Thread: Questioning, wondering and being curious.

Romance:

Thoughts:
He seems like a really sweet person, and his friend Sumiyaka-chan is so pretty! I've never seen anyone with red eyes like his before. He said he came here because he has no relatives back home... does that mean he doesn't have any family left at all? Maybe I could be his family! I still think he's a prince disguised as a merchant from a fairytale, even though he says he isn't. I'm really curious to know more about him, but hopefully I don't talk his ear off like I normally do... Either way, he doesn't seem to mind. I'll try to give him a chance to talk, I might learn more that way.
