The night is falling fast, and the humid summer air is disappearing with the day. The day's wonder is already fading on the horizon, only her bloody tips visible above the end of the land. The wind is unusually quiet; it barely dares to whisper through the trees. Every once in a while a slight breeze will carry itself through the trees, rustling a few leaves, then die down once it leaves their shelter.
The she-beast picks her way through a thick forest, her sturdy paws carrying her quickly up and over logs, under the higher ones. She's on a mission. What kind of mission, you ask? Food, of course. Because only seconds earlier she had spotted a white rabbit, rather plump, and it had just noticed her. She couldn't let it live, of course - it's not in her nature to be forgiving. So after it she goes. Besides, she'd been hungry, and this is her chance to fulfill that aching. This creature obviously thought itself clever, because it darts to the side without warning and takes off full speed. A low rumble pushes forward and Destiny changes her direction, a shift to the left, talons gripping the ground as she throws herself to the side. And the motion's effective - she's still behind the rabbit, and soon she's on it's fluff of a tail. The rabbit darts again, this time to the right, but it wasn't fast enough - with a final shriek of annoyance, Destiny's hind paws were throwing her forward, and in a second she was on the white rodent, her front talons throwing it down and her pearls clutching her prey by the neck. Warm crimson liquid flows through her mouth, and she lifts her frame from the ground with satisfaction, still carrying her dinner like a prize. Of course, there's nobody to show it to...at least, that's what she thought.
A twig cracks, and instantly Destiny's dial is thrown to her left, orbs blazing. They settle on a white form, another wolven beast. An intruder, perhaps? We'll see about that. With a flick of her crown she tosses her prey into the air, catching it again with a perfect grin, and pushes herself to her left, towards the intruder. She was behind the Arctic wolf now, nares inhaling deeply. The other seemed somewhat familiar...an old acquaintance, perhaps? Or better. Lifting her frame higher this time, cranium held high, her prey dangling, she lets herself come down louder than before, now asking for the attention of the other. She watches it turn, instinctively letting out a low snarl, which she drops quickly, and watches it take in her sight - and with the first word, she understands why it seemed so familiar. An old friend, lost from her presence long ago. She lets her meal drop, crimson tears still dripping down her chin. She considers the comment before her before letting her own voice release itself.
Roaming, Tova...I've been around, and I've settled here. Alpha, naturally. As an emphasis, the wings she usually tried to hide, as they were almost despised, are thrown into the air, waving once before she tucks them onto her side again. Her emerald pools examine the other carefully, almost as if she still is unsure whether it's really her old friend or not - but of course, she knows it is.
You're lucky you spoke so soon...I would've had to take you down if you'd kept silent.A smirk settles upon her features. Of course Tova would know - if it hadn't been Tova, she would've attacked the other no matter who it was. These were her lands, so she had the authority - but then again, when had lack of authority ever stopped her before?
