Turnover, Two sevendays after Kalirith's clutching

((I figured I might as well start this thread and let you all run around in it. I was hesitating because I wanted to see the conditions a few of my characters (read: Tyrina) would be in by the time we got around to this. Obviously, since there's a distinct lack of posting by certain someones who will remain unnamed, I've decided to go ahead with it anyways.

Where I'm starting off is actually the day before the actual Turnover, so the last official day of the Turn. Feel free to jump around the days as you see fit, as normal))

Why must we go to this? I remember being very annoyed by small creatures crawling all over me. Temanarth complained as he sat in the Weyrbowl, waiting for the others.
It was still early morning of the day before the actual feasting would begin, but the Weyr was already well underway with preparations. The air was crisp and a mist hung lingered in the air from the rainfall perhaps only an hour ago.
"Because I need to pay regards to the family. It's like paying respect to the Weyrwoman and Weyrleader if they were competent... and the Weyrleader screwed every silver and female greenrider and all female staff. Regardless, I do it because it ensures I get as many marks as I want. Plus, Rune likes to shop."
Milesaith isn't coming with us, is she? I don't like the green.
"If Rune wants her to, then she's welcome to come along. Otherwise, you'll be Rune's ride."
She should learn to fly herself.

Milesaith and Rune glided down into the Weyrbowl and landed gracefully next to Temanarth and M'tho. Rune jumped down and Milesaith turned her head away from the blue with her nose held high as if he smelled like a dung heap.
Why am I going, again?
~Because you need to get out of the Weyr at some point. It's not healthy to stay cooped up here in such a dreary place.~ Rune replied, silently, as she walked to M'tho. She was wearing a very pretty dress made from a deep blue fabric and dainty black boots with her hair braided elegantly down her back. "Oh no, M'tho! Your shirt!" She said as she reached him and stood on her toes to kiss him. "Someone spilled gorgeous all over it!" She smirked.

M'tho smiled and hugged her tightly while kissing her.
"Really? Maybe I should change?" He teased back. "You're gorgeous, as always."
His outfit consisted of a crisp white tunic covered by a fitted violet vest heavily embroidered in silver thread, black leggings and new knee-high wherhide boots also heavily embroidered in silver and purple thread.
"I suppose we'll wait to see for our company. K'dar never informed me about what we're going to do about the freak while we're away. If it seems like he'll take too long, he knows how to get to Lisoa and they'll meet us there."

((D: Sorry for this having to be vague... there are several things I wanted to rp before this so I'd have an idea to base things off of.

"Hmm, yes, it could be a problem tonight, what with the feast and all. I hope he doesn't take too long though. it would be nice to all arrive together. Kiya did say she was coming, right?" She ran her fingers along the embroidering, admiring it silently. M'tho just looked do gorgeous in everything he wore.

By the normal breakfast hour of Turnover day, any Candidate unfortunate enough to have drawn kitchen duties was already at work on the feast preparations. It was not the most extravagant of affairs, since Kalirith's Hatching loomed in the not to distant future, the impromptu Clutching feast in the not to distant past, and a portion of the weyr's population flying out to attend Turnover gathers with family, but an ordeal for anyone remotely linked to the Lower Caverns. Today, Lara and Romek were among Memorie's faithful helpers, both dutifully working despite the early hour.

Lara paused to wipe off her forehead, stretching her back and arms. She was rolling and shaping delicate sweetroll dough for the evening's desserts, being careful not to accidentally smash any of the neatly shaped pieces. Now, she was leaning back on the bench, stretching her fingers and hands from using the heavy roller. Sneakily, she plucked a corner off the sweet dough, popping it into her mouth before anyone could catch her. She smiled at Romek, who took her hint at the break, setting down his paring knife for a moment. He returned the smile ruefully before glancing around the hall, watching small contingents of people wandering in, some in casual wear, some in gather finery. Memorie wasn't in sight, so it was okay to rest a moment, right?

One of the Stewardesses appeared in the doorway and Lara hastily bent back to her work, rolling the dough thinner so the sweets would bake up quickly. The last couple of sevendays had been exceedingly busy; A'ron really was getting them prepared for the upcoming Hatching. It seemed like time was crawling along in some aspects, and flying in others. This was the first time she'd really had a chance to sit and think in a while, though she wasn't really even resting. So much work! When was the last time she'd even had a spare moment for C'dor? Last restday? No, the night A'ron had dragged everyone out of bed. Lara sighed wistfully, setting the rolling pin aside with a flourish as she started to cut and shape more of the flattened dough. That had been a night to remember. Certain parts of it, anyways. Other parts, she'd sooner forget. Huffing, Lara smashed a misshapen piece of dough with a little too much force, making it stick to her hand. She twitched the corner of her mouth in irritation, torn between licking the sweet dough off and wiping it off as she should.

Romek cleared his throat, speaking up for the first time since a Steward had set them to their work earlier in the morning, "A little rough with that bit, hm?" He smirked, reaching for another tuber.

"It's been a long couple of sevendays," Lara sighed, glancing around the hall. Today would be a lot of work, but hopefully she'd get to stick around and enjoy it tonight.

((Rawr, I'm bored so i thought I would throw N'pon into the mix.))

N'pon peeked his head around the doorframe to the kitchen and glanced around slyly. He was wearing his riding jacket and carrying his helmet in his hand, dangling it back and forward. Nodding to himself he slid around the door frame and walked discretly along the wall, looking over his shoulder all the while. Sweetie, who was napping in N'pon's hood, woke up and stretched. Then he caught the scent of something sweet and went to investigate. The smell was coming from Lara and the black wyrum scuttled over to her.

N'pon noticing the weight in his hood gone looked around behind him and saw his wyrum making a break for the sweet rolls in progress. "Ack! Sweetie! Come back!" He chased the wyrum but the black was already sitting at Lara's feet, chirping up at her, asking for a piece of sweet roll.

Lara twitched slightly at Sweetie's chirp, smiling to herself. She turned around on the bench, expecting to find C'dor's blue Zura waiting for her. When she found herself smiling down at little black Sweetie, she raised an eyebrow. "You're not a familiar face," she pointed out to the little wyrum, still kneading the little piece of dough in her hands. She glanced around the room and caught sight of N'pon scrambling after his lost pet and her smile widened, she vaguely recognized the young rider, remembering that he seemed to have a variable fair of animal followers. Glancing around to make sure no Steward noticed, Lara pulled off a little piece of sweet dough, offering it to Sweetie.

Sweetie chirped a thank you to Lara and gently took the dough from her and nibbled on it. N'pon walked up, throwing a glance over his shoulder. "Sorry about Sweetie here. He can't resist sweet things." He looked back at Lara and smiled brightly at her.

(( I can't believe you knew who C'dor's pet was, Tye...I had forgotten. ))

Yukina stumbled out of the Hatching Grounds. The warm air made her so sleepy, and Kalirith needed constant attention. The black could barely remember people coming to see her eggs without telling her, but the paranoia stayed. The black shuffled her eggs around the boundaries of the Sands to keep an eye and to make sure that they didn't get too hot.
But food was calling and maybe this way she could see some of the people she hadn't seen since the eggs were laid. She was slowly making his way over there.

Zura had been watching over Lara, but he had been hiding underneath some tables. He was slowly sneaking over to bother Lara for food. It was more important to hide from the Stewards, because they yelled at him for bothering Lara. But she always gave him good food. Seeing that Sweetie had gotten food, Zura dove through the crowd to get close to Lara. He wrapped his body around her feet, and hissed at Sweetie.

Sweetie was surprised by the Zura and scurried backwards. He climbed up N'pon's body and hide in his hood. N'pon laughed, "Well, that's what you get when you bother pretty ladies for food. Their own pets get jealous and fight back."

"Yuki-yu, what are you doing up so early?" Ri greeted as he noticed his Yuki, arms full of a basket of freshly butchered meat he'd obtained for the cooks. "Rukbat's only just rose. You don't have to do chores, so you should be asleep in a warm bed."

[Shiva]

Yuki-yu stopped and stared at the person who had been speaking to her. And blinked a few times. Going from moving to not-moving was really working at the moment, and the girl was swaying gently from side to side. Squinting her eyes and leaning forward a little bit (still going side to side), she tried to focus on the person. Realizing it was Ri, she greeted him, already forgetting he had said hello first.
"Oh, good morning, Ri. . . Why are you carrying a lot of meat?"

Zura didn't mind being called Lara's pet. She wasn't his Master, but they often slept in the same bed with Zura too, so she could be counted on. The blue moved his attention from Sweetie to Lara, crooning softly for treats.

[Khaleeco]

"Good morning, Yuki-yu. This?" He looked down. "The cooks are getting started on the longer cooking things for the next two days. ;__; They're making me work so early. Where's their Turnover spirit?"

[Shiva]

Yukina looked very confused, and was rubbing her eyes.
"Spirit, what? They had to get rid of those things. Kept messing up the place....No work being done."

"What are you talking about, Yuki-yu? I think you should've stayed in bed." He chuckled, shifting his hold on the meat basket. "What are you doing up so early, anyways?"
