Fired hues of red and gold branched off of the occasional gnarled oaks and pine of the Border. Their reaching arms grasping at the blood washed dusk. The day was succumbing to night's chilled hold, to the starry expanse. A wisp of spring's breath passed through Aniu's thick coat, carrying with it the common debris of this time. Dried leaves, frail twigs and the odd feather. The beauty would have captivated and entranced the casual paser by, or perhaps even an unoccupied wolven, but this varg was far from mezmerized. Hell, she had alot on her mind.

Silence crippled the land. No breath nor word nor curse was spoken. The airy darkness of night claimed the land, souring the earth with the mark of blackness. Above the moonlit face of earth the moon, the pallid orb in the sky, hung daintily amoungst a shower of stars. The sky behind these bright motes of light was pitch black, and seemed to go on forever. In fact, it probably did, for no one has seen the true depths of space. The earth was still and peaceful, the trees swayed in the invisible, inaudible wind, even the movement of their limbs and leaves silent. Small nocturnal animals crept about, peeking out from behind any cover they might find, for the watchful eyes of an owl scoured the land in search for a meal. Soundlessly, she took wing, finding no reason to roost in her present whereabouts. The night was cold, for that particular season, and most were curled up, hidden away, deriving whatever warmth from a nook or cranny nature created.

This chill was no hinderance, of course, for a wolf. One of the few forms not curled up insided a cave somewhere, sleeping away, the rogue fae made her way through the dark scenery. Her pelt, thick and soft, still guarded her against the frosty gales that nature threw at her. The wind ushered her onward, urging her to continue her movement. The fae was a beautiful one, though one could see by the daunting look in her eyes that she was deadly. Her pelt was slick and smoothe, as glossy and shiny as fine silk. Though there was no sun in the sky, her pelt picked up the light from the moon.

Thunderous clouds rolled across the dark sky. Trees bended and swayed in the near-winter winds. A small creek resided nearby, it's onyx surface rippling when the wind tormented it, whistling across the water's surface with a cold, unfeeling touch. Even the grass, dead, lost some of it's golden hue as the cloud cover in the sky stole what light there was away. The wind billowed as she inclined her sleek crania and sent out a call that would bring whomever seemed interested to her. Whomever wanted a strong fighter and will of steel would claim the fae. The wind died down some as her howl faded in the distance, let whomever showed themselves prepare for their possible fate should they be weak of mind and soul.

Who cried a river and drowned the whole world
And while she looked so sad in photographs
I absolutely love her
When she smiles.

The champagne hued femmora laid somewhere around the borderlands. Boredom devoured her sleek muzzle, displaying obvious displeasure that held her foul demeanor. Auditives slicked against her formed tiara, displaying a feeling of rough placement stirred within her. Yet, the fae never stood, nor moved. Dried grasses stood erect beneath her paws, tickling the sensitive flesh, sending shivers up her forelegs. Though these lands were familiar, Layla seemed to have no idea where they ended. They bordered Lifted Spirits on the West, where the forest met with theirs. The Alphena had never really thought about the fact they didn't touch the Neutral. Gently cupped auds flickered, rising swiftly at the sound of a call.

"Hmm?"

The Alphena grumbled. She didn't really feel like getting up right now. Whoever was waiting could stay there, or possibly intrude and face the penalty of her foul mood. Fresh meat. Layla chuckled icily, dipping her muzzle onto her extended paws. Then another call reached her. Not of the new wolven, but of one that was joining Lifted Spirits. She spat on the earth as she dropped her auditives. Masking the sound was easy and quite fufilling in the end. Sighing darkly the Alphena rose to beging a nimble trot.

Rythmic steps continued to rise and fall. Pads slapping the hardened terrain with a pattern of movements. Left, right, left, right. It completed a single, swift stride forth. Pure displeasure showed along her features as she ran seeming as she was still angered with that goddamn Synnove.

Glinting optics focused on the slowly moving river. It appeared so inviting to her dry, parched throat. Now Layla could imagine the feel of it quenching her awful thirst. Then again, she was not even relatively thirsty. Shaking off the dimly lit imagery the Alphena moved ever closer towards this varg.

Lifting a fore paw, she waited, posing inquisitively before shaking herself into reality. Well, the reality she was not used to in many sorts.

Her canter began loosely at first. Tassel straightened as she neared, frame rising to show dominance. Muscles contorted and strained as she jogged, heading ever closer towards Aniu. Though, she did not go far.

"What the hell do you want?" said Layla. Her tone was cold and icy, her visage showing obvious distaste for this femme. At last she would not be the only female. These goddamn males were starting to get on her nerves...well, at least Synnove. Zoloh was the only one she could really trust.

What the hell do you want? The tone held within the femme's voice was indeed a cold one, able to send a chilled feeling down one's spine. Aniu's sleek crania turned slowly to the side, merely observing the stance that this fae was holding as she awaited an answer from Aniu's maw. Pivoting slowly in place Aniu turned to face the grey femora, auds pricked to attention and sleek fur ruffling with the slight wind. Lowering herself lower the ground, her belly fur now sweeping the earth beneath her, she tucked her tassle closer to her hind limbs. All movements were done out of pure respect, not fear, for Aniu rarely held any form of frightening towards another. None had succeeded in that feat. Her maw parted as an eerily calm toned voice flowed forth from her jowls.

Please excuse me for the intrusion m'lady, but I am in search of a pack which I may call a home. I am dubbed Aniu Duthane, if you are curious of what to call me by.

Often using the term 'm'lady' or 'm'lord' Aniu found that most wolven prefered being called that upon their first meeting. The chilled night air once again picked up, the billowing wind toying with her pelt. Being a loner was simply too much of the fae, a rogue as they called it. Within her shadowed mind she knew that she could not live off of small game for the remainder of her damned cursed life.

Glancing up up briefly Aniu caught Layla's gaze, but quickly she tore her orbs away. Indeed it was considered disrespectful, and possibly even a challenge, to glare at one so high ranked in their very pools. Instead Aniu kept her gaze fixed 'pon the tainted earth at Layla's paws.

OOC: Bleh... sorry for the bad post. *sniff* I'm just trying to get over these darn allergies.

[Meh. Don't worry about it.]

How polite. It gave Layla a smug sense of superiority that was quickly diminished by her overpowering mood. Auditives flickered once but almost instantly remained still. Sleek, thick peltage flattened oddly, rippling as a brief wind ruffled its surface. She gave the other a rough scoff, turning her muzzle away to show obvious amusement.

"Oh really now, Aniu Duthane? I haven't met a dark yet who still hasn't dropped their surname. My pack is open to new members, especially femmes seeing as we have none, save myself. I am Layla, the Alphena around here. Zoloh is the Lead Warrior, you will respect him and hold your tongue until you earn his friendship. If not I expect you will be quiet for a very long time."

Layla paused, giving the newcomer a cold stare down. For a brief moment she caught Aniu's gaze, and when that occured the Alphena gave her a devious smirk. That was never good. Not when she gave that goddamn smile.

"What can you do of importance? Or are you useless?" Layla said with little kindness.
