Characters' Name: Belinda Fortoza
Characters' Age / Year: 16/5th year
Characters' Family History: Belinda comes from a wealthy muggle family who pretty much ignore her. They leave her alone with their servants when they go on their frequent vacations to fancy places Belinda's never seen. She never really had friends growing up, but she sure did have whatever else she wanted whenever she wanted it. Her parents are so far removed from her life that she's not even really sure they know she's a witch. Not that she minds their absence.
Characters' Personality: Very spoiled, self-centered and ethnocentric. Flakey and oblivious, but when she cares about something she will go to no end to finish it/protect it/etc. Not much can frighten her. Some call it courage, others call it stupidity. Belinda was very sheltered from the war between the Order and the Deatheaters, so she doesn't know much about it. She also doesn't care much about it. No one she knew was involved, so why should she care?
Characters' Appearence: Blonde hair that reaches just above her elbows. Bright green eyes. 5'4" Wears a lot of pink.
Anything Else You Would Like To Add: Her current personality will change (for the better), I think, as she interacts with other characters. She's not the brightest crayon in the box, so I don't think she'd do well in Ravenclaw.

The door clicked shut and Belinda was alone once again. My goodness some of these other girls are annoying, she thought irritatedly as she strode across the room to her bed. As if they never saw a Carlton gold-embossed hairbrush before. Really!

A bit irritated by the recent disturbance, Belinda resumed brushing her hair on her bed. She was soon distracted once again by the low, rolling hoot of an owl. Lolly! she thought excitedly. Her parents may not have known enough about the wizarding world to send her owls, but her dearest maid, Edora, did.

Dropping her brush, Belinda raced to the window and flung it open. In floated Lolly, a gorgeous snowy owl. Still very excited, Belinda took the very small package from her talons and wasted no time ripping it open. She loved surprises! Especially ones from home! The torn paper revealed a small silver box, which in turn revealed a tiny heart-shaped locket engraved on the front with very beautiful vines. Oh! she thought, This can't have come from Edora, it's too expensive. Carefully, she opened the locket, which revealed a tiny photo of each of her parents on either side.. This must be from Edora..My parents wouldn't have bothered with pictures, she decided, immediately placing the locket around her neck and clasping it closed.

Belinda hurried over to the mirror to see how it looked, and it was indeed quite breathtaking. She had been so excited about it that she hadn't even noticed the letter that accompanied it. Heading back over toward her bed to clean up the ruined packaging, Belinda spotted the letter among the torn paper and plucked it out of the pile.

Dearest Belinda,
This locket was once my mother's, and since I have no daughter of my own, I thought I would pass it on to you. Your sixteenth birthday has recently passed, and I thought it would be a fitting gift for a young girl your age. It is my most precious and treasured family heirloom, and I know you will take good care of it.
Best Wishes,
Edora

The note was very short, but it meant a lot to Belinda. She'd never possessed anything that had once been someone else's. While the idea of handing down items through generations would usually be considered cheap, Belinda knew at once that this had immediately become her most prized possession. She would never take it off, and she certainly would not let anything happen to it.
