[Calyx Aldridge]

Now as much as Calyx loved hogwarts there was one thing she just could not get past. It had to house at least 1000 students. Now the castle was big, but no matter where you went you always ended up running into someone. Wheather you wanted to run into them, or if they were friendly or not. You still ended up running into someone. Half the time for Calyx it was someone she didn't want to. She had a talent of running into teachers, mainly the teachers who didn't like her, which were most. She couldn't help it, she hated school work, and found it much to easy to do something to piss one of them off. Which normally entailed hexing a Slytherin or something to that sort of thing.

She unlike one of those Slytherin, did not think showing emotion was something bad. She actually thought a lot of the time it could be helpful, and well. Things like that. She couldn't believe their nerve at times. They always thought they were better than others. Which most of the time wasn't true. Yet at times she did have to fold that Slytherins were better than her at some things. But there was much she was better at. Like Qudditch, she was very sure they were going to crush slytherin this year. At least she hoped so, if they lost... she wouldn't be able to show her face in Hogwarts ever again.

Today she just could not stay out of the way of people, the kept rushing all over and not watching where they were going. Slytherin she would yell at, if Hufflepuff's or the like she would help them up. She couldn't help it, she just couldn't stand Slytherins. And most couldn't stand her. She was the captian of the rival qudditch team this year, and those who didn't not like her because of qudditch they had probably gotten into a fight with her or something. Yet now she was jsut trying to get out of the mainstream. She had finally made it out of the castle and looked around. A lot of little hogwartians were running around outside. Groaning she slapped her forhead with her hand. She didn't like children really.

So she decided there was only one place she would be able to get some peace. Older people were busy with homework, which she just decided not to do, and the younger ones were to scared to enter. So she headed for the Forbidden Forest. She hardly ever met anyone in here, so she guessed it would be a good place to get some privacy. She finally ended up there and looked around. This place wasn't as bad as everyone made it seem when they talked about it. It was just a forest, yes there were some not so nice animals and characters here, but they were hard to come by. Most didn't want to deal with wizards. So they just kept out of the way.

Calyx found her way into her favorite area of the forest, which was about 5 minuets of walking to get to. She had gotten lost when she was in her 3rd year in here, and stumbled upon the place. Now she couldn't get enough of it. It was a thickly treed area, which made it easy to just walk from tree to tree in the branches, one of her favorite thing to do. Not to mention there was so much veggitation, that if you spent a good deal of the day, you might be able to watch a unicorn for a while. Today she climbed up into her favorite tree and just decided to sit and relax for a while.

Alvin was pissed. It was plain as day. He was tired of his little sister acting like she done. He was over it. Alvin had had a long day once again. His usual friendly outgoing self was trapt behind a barb wire fince despertly trying to break free from the prison it had been locked in. Alvin had been in a bad mood since his mum passed away over the summer due to those damned death eaters. He wanted revenge. And his little sister Madeline wasn't helping the cause either. "Only if Mother could see the way she is acting. She would be horrible disappointed in her." he had tried to tell her this so many times, but that just lead to worse fights with Mad. as he called her now a days.

He stormed off to a place he knew he could be alone to think. He krept up the forbiden forrest looking over his shouldet to make sure no one with athority was watching him. As he was entering he saw Calyx climbing a tree. He stared at her, not really expecting to see anyone else in here.

He waited a few moments and desided to walk up to the tree where she had climbed. He stared up it at her. "Calyx? What are you doing?" he asked her. "Don't you know better to be in here alone?" he asked her smirking. He himself was just as alone as she was when she had entered the darking woods.

Calyx jsut looked down at him from her place half was into the tree. She hadn't expected anyone. Yet it was Alivn, the Gryffindor beeter. She smiled down at him and then finished climbing up the tree. She crossed her legs and then looked down at him smirked.

"Well hello Alivn." She said grinning like no other. She patted the tree branch next to her. "Would you like to join me?" She tilted forward more so she could see him better.

"I'm trying to get away from the stupid hustle and bustle of the castle, but now that you've gone and wasted all my efforts." She said in a mock annoyed tone. Yet her gaze changed drasticly when she heard the last bit.

"Oh shut your trap you. Your so cocky, I should show you. But no, I'm to nice for that. Now get up here." She said pointing at the tree next to her again grinning.

She always had liked Alivn, he was so easy to talk to, be with, etc. Not to mention he always seemed to make the worst qudditch practices amazing. He had that sence of humor you couldn't get enough of, and the smile of a class A model... and the body of one too. She grinned at that thought and rolled back against the tree trunk again, yet there was really nothing there. Well... there was but there wasn't. Calyx never really took the time to think about it.

He smiled at her. "THought you would never ask." he said to her. "Of course I would want to join my Quidditch capitian on hopes of being the new star of the team." he teased. He just laughed at her other comments.

He started to climb the tree she was in. He reached her branch with little effort. "Now then, hows my favorite person in the whole wide word?" he asked her grinning. "Even if I did ruin your expeted disapearince of other people. Witch I had ented the same." he said to her.

Alvin was glad it was Calyx up here. He loved to talk to her. Maybe it was because she was a girl who could understand things and not be so well girlish. She was quite pretty to look at as well to talk to. He knew as soon as he heard her voice that he would be smiing and feeling better once again.

Calyx couldn't help but grin as Alvin joined her in the trees, all alone. 'Oh great... My minds carrying me away again.' She thought. So she steered from that train of thought. She turned to him and grinned.

"Oh if you play your cards right you might just become the new star player... under me of coarse." She said giggling. "You dont want to outshine your captain now do you?" She grinned at him, he always brought out the best in her. Compaired to some people, who brought out the worst in her... namedly an Adrian from slytherin. But she didn't feel like thinking about him and his professions of love or whatever that was. 'It still feels weird being called captain' she thought to herself.

"I havn't been all that shabby, how have you been?" SHe asked him... she had a feeling that something was wrong. She could have sworn she saw him fighting with his sister earlier, and that always spelled bad news. "Well then we can just be alone together!" She said grinning. She put a finger under his chin, and running it along his jaw bone before flicking her finger away.

'In the trees all alone...' She thought again. 'Oh stop that!' She almost yelled at herself in her mind. 'Can't be thinking like that now can I?'

He smiled. "Well I am the best card player around." he smirked at her. Alvin was a good poker player that was for sure. "No of course not though. I could not do that to the most wonderful captian of all times now could I?" he smiled at her sweetly.


"Well ok I guess, but damn Madeline has been something on the lines of a bitch since mum died this summer. She really has me pissed off, but now that I'm tlaking to you everything is better." he said to her.

It was true she did make everything better. He looked at her when she touched his chin. She hit his weekness. He stared at her grinning his eyes gleemed to. He wished she would touch him agian.

"You are much better at cards than me." She said frowning abit... she did hate being worse at things that other people. Yet... it was Alvin she was talking to so it was ok. She grinned. "You are such a suck up" She stuck her tounge out at him and grinned.

"Your mum died?" Calyx said... she hadn't heard anything about that. "You have got to be kidding? What happened?" Her entire face softened... she couldn't believe she didn't know. This had to be hard for him. "I'll see if I can have a talk with her." She said, she put a hand on his shoulder and then couldn't help but laugh. "Once again... your such a suck up! But i really am sorry." She said softly, she couldn't believe it.

Calyx switched over to his branch so she could get closer to him. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?" She asked him, it was almost a week into school and she was only finding out now. "Thats.. thats just horrible." She said softly. She looked up at him and sighed and put her head on his shoulder.

He stopped smiling slightly. His mum was a touchy subject with him, but it was Calyx and he trusted her. "Well you see, her and dad refused to join in with Draco and he killed her, and Dad is in St. Mungos." he told her with a serious face.

"I'm sorry I didn't earlier, but I haven't really wanted to talk about it. And wit Mad making it worse I just....it just makes me unlike my usual self, and I hate that." he told her in a hush tone.

Calyx's eyes snapped to that cold brooding state. The way they always looked then she was thinking about Draco and everything to do with him. She couldn't believe that ass hole. She was probably one of the most outspoken Draco haters in the school and was proud of it.

"I'm so sorry Alvin." She said looking at him. She just couldn't believe it. "He is so..." she was lost for words, but the look on her face could show how enfuriated she was. Yet she looked up at Alvin and sighed. She just hugged him.

"No dont worry about it Alvin. You've had stuff on your mind, its totally ok. I'm just glad I know now. ITs a horrible thing to know, but you know I'm here for you right. If you need anything you can just come to me ok!" She told him, it was true... she would go to the ends of the earth for him... they'd been friends for so long. She wouldn't leave him hanging at a time like that.

He held onto her deeply as she huggedh im. "I know, but lets not dwell on such a depressing moment. My sweetie." he said to her smiling again. He didn't really like to talk about at all, he just asumed it would all go away eventully, the feelings that he was feelign at the moment.

He looked at her and smiled sweetly in her eyes. He ran his hand through her hair as he still hadn't let go of her. He just wanted to hold her tightly.

Calyx just enjoying the time in his arms. He was true... there was so little they could do about it now there was no reason to dwell on it. She signed and nodded.

'What are you doing?!' A voice screamed at her in her head. 'He is your best friend. One of you oldest friends! What are you doing! What are you doingggg!' It was shreiking at her now. She just wanted to shut it up, but didn't exactly have an off button for the voice in her head. So she just shoved those thoughts to the back of her mind and smothered them with a pillow. She liked this feeling to much.

When he ran a hand through her hair it sent shivers down her spine, and she couldn't help but like the feeling. She looked up and him and sighed... this feeling was amazing, just being in his arms. Yet she got up and looked down at him. She motioned for him to follow her. She jumped a few branches and then landed on the ground, she knew a quaint little secluded spot she thought better than the branches. She turned around and smiled at him.

"Wouldn't want one of us falling out of a tree now would we?" She asked grinning.

He smirked at her and desided to follow. This couold be interesting for the two of them. He waisted no time walking up beside her and putting his arms around her. "No I don't believe I like falling out of trees. After all Madeline has pushed me out of a few." he said to her laughing slightly at the memories of that.

Calyx smiled as he put his arms around her, she couldn't get enough of the feeling at the moment. She smirked up at him. "I highly down having your little sister pushing you out of trees could be all that much fun." She smiled. "Yet I do know the feeling a bit to well. Guys are so competative." She said smiling at him, for she knew that they both knew she was the most competative out of them all.

She put her arms around his waist and grinned at him. She didn't know what was really going to happen, because well... she really didn't know how he felt about her, or really how she felt about him. But... she was just fine with everything that was happening now.

'In the forbidden forest... all alone.' Her mind said again, the nautier side of her mind told her. She just grinned a little more at that thought and tried just not to think at all at the moment.

"Oh but it was so fun. I broke three bones that time." he smiled at her. "And you are one to talk, you'd have a fit over a competion." he said to her. She was more competiitive than he was that was for sure.

He walked with her not knowing where they were going. "So doll where you taking me? Somewhere where no one will hear me scream when you kill me and leave my body ere to be eaten by gaint spiders?" he aske her

"Oh yes, but I'm not about 3 times my size." She said giggling. "And anyways... thats what we have magic for! Its the fastest way to heal, so that means we can do even stupider stuff than those muggles, and not have to worry about it." She said giggling.

Looking up at him her eyes danced. "Ohh..! But there only medium sized! Anywyas... you wont have time to scream." She said giggling. She finally pulled him to a stop. They were in a small clearning it seemed clean enough, and was actual quite nice for being in the middle of the forbidden forest.

"I get bored a lot..." She said shrugging. "Do you like?" She asked giggling. She knew it was probably stupid, but she couldn't help it. On one side there was a little what seemed to be a cave. Yet it really was just an overhang of a rock slate that was about two or three foot deep. "Really bored." She said again looking the place over. Yet she pulled herself away from it and turned to look at him.

'What am I doing... oh dear wizards I'm so stupid!' She thought, dobut flooding her mind. She really didn't know what she was doing, she listened to her impusles jsut a bit to much. 'Oh well... I can pull this off, even if he thinks its stupid... I can pull it off as a stupid joke. I'm good a those.' She mentaly nodded making a fail safe in her brain. She thought to much... much to much.

She tried to think up something to say but nothing came to her mind. She wasn't sure what she was planning to get out of this night, weather it was a good un intrumpted talk, or something more... she'd let him choose what they did she guessed.
