For comments and questions about the new version of the war system. Also apply here for producer spots.
Gun-Toting Animals - January 16, 2012 04:13 AM (GMT)
The Confederacy wishes to apply for the Israel producer spot

Oh, I think there's something you need to check out for producer nations. It says you require to spend at least 10% of your government's budget on defense in order to be a producer nation. This new rule hardly makes sense for a few reasons. Firstly North Inquista is currently the largest producers of arms, yet we don't count as a nation which produces arms? Secondly, even though my government doesn't make the arms, private companies could make arms (like RL Colt's Manufacturing LLC). Thirdly and most importantly, the 10% rule doesn't make sense because majority of the producer countries (IRL) listed there don't even spend 10% of their government budget on weapons...
Dromund Kaas - January 16, 2012 03:08 PM (GMT)
I would like to apply for the Italian Producer spot. Most of my military is based on Italian equipment as it is.
Großdeutsches Reich - January 17, 2012 08:50 AM (GMT)
I'd like to show my concern about UK selling RL UK-produced military equipment, as it is the GDR that holds the Great Britain producer spot.
The United Kingdom - January 17, 2012 02:49 PM (GMT)
I would like to say that I would let go, but your companies haven't RP'd any of that development from what I looked at before opening BAE Systems. I don't think that those technologies would just drop out of the sky.
And besides, the way that the producer system was written down, it didn't say you had to stay exactly with that nation.
Duxburian Union - January 17, 2012 05:15 PM (GMT)
Gun-Toting Animals and Dromund Kaas both meet the requirements and have been assigned to the requested producer spots.
The issue with the UK and German spots (and NATO in general) is that so much technology is shared that they are hardly different. If each nation were stripped down to just what they've produced nationally, you'd be looking at a WWII military. NATO integration is so deep in northern Europe that even when specific classes may be unique, their hardware under the hood is not.
The way I see it, you can choose to have them be totally separate, and have to RP your own fire control systems, ordnance, and anything else NATO standard, or tolerate some mixing as happens in their RL armaments. This is an issue that you two should work out, and not something that I should impose.
Großdeutsches Reich - January 21, 2012 05:15 PM (GMT)
The United Kingdom and I have reached an agreement regarding military technology. I will take the Germany producer spot and he will take the UK producer spot.
The United Kingdom - January 21, 2012 05:18 PM (GMT)
Yes, we have come to that agreement.
Duxburian Union - January 21, 2012 05:56 PM (GMT)
Ah, that makes a lot of sense. The spots have been switched.
Marrakechia - January 21, 2012 07:06 PM (GMT)

So... are you going to finally answer my question, Dux?
