--THESE ARE MY OPINIONS SO DON'T TAKE THEM INTO HATING ME--
I'm about to do my own Review on some of the games from the silent hill series, why, because i love em. Not that i have not played 5 yet, mostly due to the fact it hasn't come out XD At least where i am O.o They will be split into different topics due to length.

We will start with Origins because even though its fairly new, its a pre quill.

Silent Hill Origins (PSP):
Yes, I own this one, and i must say for a portable system its pretty well played out, and a good game. I admit, like all games it has its faults, but we will get to that later. The game is before any of the other silent hill games happened, even though it has just recently came out, and while that may be weird, it helps out to fill in the missing areas of the first. I wont go into much detail about the game , but i will give my views of whats good and what was blah.

It begins as you being Travis, a truck driver who is driving by silent hill, and being called by some mysterious force to a burning mansion to save a young girl, and in doing so, setting the stage for the rest of the series. You follow Travis as he tries to figure out what has happened, and realizes that the sleepy town of silent hill isn't as quiet as it seems..

So, what was good: The graphics played out very well even though on a portable game, making the graphics on the same lines of silent hill 2, which were not bad. The music was alright, and included some of the originals music, only revamped and better, which over all made it actually a nice thing to not go straight to your options and mute music...though i did anyway to make it more creepier ^^' Sounds were alright as well, being pretty much the same as the others in the series. Scrapings, screaming, moaning, rattling, and all that creepy and dismal goodness. They also added a cool easter egg feature, in which if you completed certain task in the game, such as having your flashlight on for less then a certain amount of time, you get a prize, being it a powerful weapon, costume, or item when you complete the game. The game itself isnt very long, being beat in 3 hours by me, but it travels through enough 'levels' including the silent hill sanitarium (Creepy goodness) The return or beginning of the hotel, and more areas. There was a good variety of weapons as well, but it also was bad which i will explain latter. The story was good too, playing into the main character Travis's past, inter twined with the events of silent hill, and playing with his mind like all of the games. They even brought back the alien ending! Which was awesome because it had the dog in it ^^ If you beat the others, you know what i mean ^~... tough the game did have its faults..

What i didn't like about it: Well, the fact that the game was beaten in only 3 hours was quite a disappointment, as it was fun and i wanted more, and it just didn't have enough rewards to make me want to play it again for more. Another major problem in the game is the new weapon system they added. Unlike other games where a steel pipe can last the whole game, in this one the melee weapons can break. So if you use a hammer to much, boom, its broken, and you have to find another one. There are plenty melee weapons lying around, but its just so annoying while fighting a mob. Another dislike for me was that some of the bosses became normal enemies in the game. I mean seriously, where is the creativity in that! Only like 4 of the main bosses are actually unique unlike the other games that had 5-8. There are also spots in the game where there is absolutely NO HINT of what to do next, so you have to be REALLY smart and know, really dumb and check everything, or read a walk through. Another thin i didn't care for was that the 'evil' world of silent hill was only able to get to if you go through a mirror, unlike the first game where it happened automatically, which i liked. I know it may give some the feeling of 'you make the story' but i don't like it. The last boss was also VERY EASY. I beat him by throwing a microwave at him and shooting him a few times. ><

But yeah, i'm sure there is more, but over all this game isn't all that bad, and a good plus in the series. I recommend it to anyone who like the series, and those who just want a good horror game.

I give this game a 7/10 ~ Pretty Good.
