AoM TT lovers there are only 7 true wonders

Remember that the "Ancient 7 Wonders" were only done in the Mediterranean. IMO, there were various other places on Earth with better wonders than the ones picked. Added that most of these wonder were in what was Greece. winky-smiley.gif

Yep true...but I am just a Europa central guy just like those ancient greeks where hahaha w00t-smiley.gif

no serious.........the 7 ancient wonders where indeed around the Mediterranean...not only in Europe (Greece) but also middle east ( asia minor) and ofcourse africa ( egypt)

well ofcourse there where high civs around..especially in the far east like china and Japan.......but none of their historicans came up with the idea of selecting 7 wonders..........the Greek did big_grin-smiley.gif

so yes the original concept of this all came from the Greek.... and lets face it......whats the point nowadays (2007) of selecting exactly 7 wonders ? we have thousands of wonders around us...... so i rather keep that ancient greek thing as something historical and even mythical as the true 7 wonders then some commercialised thing as the new wonders........which is basicly a bit well crappy

the 7 ancient wonders are something which inspires...and the fact that only one is left makes them even more interesting and mythical for me.

so yes their are and will always just be 7 original wonders of the world and those are the ones selected by the ancient Greek guys.............the concept should more be seen as something which inspires humans rather then saying....well to original wonders are all gone lets select a bunch of new ones which still are around........thtas very flat and empty i.m.o.....but unfortunatly the masses are most of the time flat and think in a 2d way so to say

so there you have it.........the things i descibe above are also basicly the foundations of the 7 wonders of the aom world election.............its NOT about some screenie contest .............because lets face it basicly all 113 items on the longlist are wonders.....but its more about inspiration, dreams, fantasy....and maybe even inspires people to design stuff in whatever rts game....and last but least its plain pointless fun rasberry-smiley.gif
