└ Project in development.
└ Overview: Adapted from a group game played in the middle of the night, the scenario pits a large mass of players against one player who assumes the role of Gorgon, a character who screams his name to induce fright as he roams the darkened hallways in pursuit of anyone who crosses his path. For the players running away, they must collect 5 pieces of a flashlight scattered across the map, assemble it, and bring it near Gorgon to use it's light to kill him. Players must work fast and stay ahead of Gorgon, lest they be tagged and sent to jail for a minute. They also must kill Gorgon before time runs out, or the match goes to him.
Players 1-7 look for flashlight pieces. Player 8 assumes the role of Gorgon.
└ Features -Pseudo-3rd person view -Mazes of tunnels and rooms , all filled with areas to search. -Sound cues reveal what is going on throughout the level. -Various secret passages provide shortcuts through the map. -Using building hotkeys, the player can change his view (North, South, Left, and Right) while his character is standing still.
-Panic Mode: Ctrl + C triggers panic mode, where the player's unit scatters to a random location at a high speed.

Wow, when I read this, I thought it must be for AOM or some other game. Very nice looking. Question: How did you make these flashlight pieces? And I guess the player who plays Gorgon has an advantage, no? How'd you get the third person view?

Question: How did you make these flashlight pieces?
I'm using IGC targets as placeholders, a piece gets converted once you find it after searching, so you have it's LOS. I have additional ideas to make them behave more like inanimate objects, I'll elaborate when I work out the kinks.

Yup, but he's outnumbered as well.

Effect: Camera cut (The view really close to the man) Effect: Camera follow unit
It doesn't give a true 3rd person view, as the view doesn't shift to show the character's back, but it works.

Great gameplay idea, Botolf!! Now if the rumors of CSO are true, this would be a fantastic multi. Even with single player, this scenario would be right up my alley
And I offer my services as playtester when you get that far.

As i was telling you earlier Botolf, it sounds like a good idea and a fun scenario. If CSO is true then i could definetely see people playing this online. Kepp up the could work Botolf I anxiously await the release
(And if you need help with balance issues or draw a blank on something i'm here to help out, like a few nights ago where we talked for 2 hours about it )

Bump. K, added a new feature, the player can now change his view direction while standing still (North, South, Left, Right). Thanks to MosheLevi for helping inspire the idea, building hotkeys are truly useful things .

I believe its third person custer, i think Botolf found out a way to allow you to rotate the camera if i'm not mistaken.

Heh, that's really cool, but with such a low angle I bet there's gonna be highly increased slow-down. And if it turns out to become multiplayer, then we got some serious lag....

Minor Project update:
I've completed the jailing component, and I've constructed a working prototype component for randomly scattering pieces around the map at the start of each game.
I've reached about 40% completion *happy*
