Hey! Guess what I'm reading in my English Honors class? That's right, Wuthering Heights. I've gotta say, not one of the happiest books. At first, I really hated it, and I still kinda do. But I'm learning to appreciate it more now, it could be bugging me because I have to write essays and answer questions, but ignoring all the work it's a pretty decent story.
Discuss it with me if you've read it! Pwetty Pwease? |

I've never read it. What's it about?
We had to read Fahreinheit 451(not sure on spelling because my teacher already took the books back) in school this year. I was literally the only one in my class that liked it. Out of 100 students I was the only one who liked it. Isn't that sad? We also read The Giver. I read it in two days then I reread it three times more. By the time I had read it three times they had JUST started reading it in class. I'm a geek when it comes to books. I go on book binges. I usually will read three books in four days then not read another book for like three months. It's really weird. |

Hey! You read just like me! I'll go on book reading binges too. I'll end up reading like 5 books in a week, and then not read again for a long time.
Wuthering Heights is a very sad passionate love story. Summary: Much of the first half of the novel concerns the passionate and illicit relationship between Catherine Earnshaw and Mr Heathcliff as narrated by a number of individuals: primarily by Mr Lockwood and Nelly Dean, the housekeeper of Thrushcross Grange. There is intrigue concerning Heathcliff who has taken over the Grange and keeps a clumsy boy called Hareton Earnshaw. We learn of how his morose and stern attitude began and the cruel twists of fate which have torn two families apart. The death of Catherine and the true intentions of the novel's various mysterious characters have been the source of much speculation and even now Wuthering Heights remains genuinely harrowing and cathartic. It's actually a very confusing story, it takes place over 30 years, and many different important events. Even though in the beginning it's really boring, I would advise reading it if you have the time. It's definitely not a waste. |

Okay I'll add that to my list. Sorry CSI books you've all just been bumped down by Wuthering Heights.

I haven't a had a book binge in a while so I'm about due for one. I'm taking a reading class that will help me read faster and be able to comprehend what I read better as well. We have to pick one book to read at home and I immediatly was like Wuthering Heights. It's been on my mind since this thread has started. My teacher doesn't want me to do it because it's the Novels 2(which is the highest) level and apparently I'm supposed to be on the Advanced Chapter Book level, but I'm saying screw it and Wuthering Heights is the book I'm gonna read. I'm so excited. We're also reading A Day No Pigs Would Die. It's actually a VERY good book. I read it a REALLY long time ago and cannot remember for the life of me what it is about. Yah I think I need to work on my comprehending skills. lol. So I'll report back when I'm done.

Ok well I read like a chapter or two during the summer then stopped, but then I started two days ago. It makes a lot more sense now. It's an amazing novel and I'm almost done. I cannot put it down. I wish Emily had written more novels though. She's an amazing writer.
