"Well then," Kathryn concluded, her take-charge tone leaving little room for any form of argument, "if it's decided that a welcoming committee is needed and that their responsibilities will be greeting, providing tours and information on dorms and classes, all that remains is putting forth nominations." She'd disregarded Tao's previous comments on 'social ineptitude' with little more than a startled blink, carefully concealing her surety that the statement was intended as a barb. Who it was directed towards she wasn't entirely certain, but she wasn't about to question it and start an argument during their precious meeting time. If questioning was warranted, it could be done later on.

"I'd like to nominate Hyrekia Windsong as a member of the welcoming committee. She's one of our newest peers, but she's already shown startling activity in the student body. I think she'd be a fairly safe bet, and relatively eager to keep up with her duties. Of course, we'd have to ask her if she was interested. Anyone else want to make a suggestion?"

Yes, that caffeine buzz had certainly kicked in. What a blessing.

When I find out what went on,
I'll bring it back but it won't be easy
They won't believe a man, he could -
But I'd choose starseed over nothing
Nothing...

It was definitely fair to say Kathryn on caffeine was a scary thing to behold. Generally, the girl’s tones were enough to get the blonde standing to attention, but she had never met her co-council member in the board room. Finding herself sitting up straighter in her chair, the majority of tiredness beginning to fade away the student tried to keep track of what was being said, she nodded at Kathryn’s suggestion.

“Tao’s right, though… a lot of the students do just keep themselves to themselves, and generally don’t like talking to others… Maybe a full school social could be good, a bit like the dance at New Year’s. but a bit less formal,” There she went again, not keeping on one topic for long and pushing things along far too quick for what they needed to be.

Getting back on track… “I’d recommend Eiden for the male side… Kathryn and I met him while a new guy was just starting,” his attitude in general still aggravated the blonde and thank goodness she hadn’t met him since, “and he seemed to take the whole role well if you ask me.”

Well there was no point in putting in an opinion for Kathryn, was there?

Looking to Tao, Lorne and the Headmistresses, she waited for any rebuttal to her suggestion. “Besides, it’s hardly as though we have a very high male population in the school… He’d seem an ideal candidate.”

Tao didn't take very much pleasure from Kathryn's brief, seemingly startled expression. He could already hear the quiet verbal dissection that would likely take up some of his time after the meeting was over. He simply smiled his approval at Hyrekia Windsong's mention and left it at that. He doubted that anyone could dislike that girl, even if they tried.

He then nodded his thanks to Hayzie for clarifying and strengthening his position on the student body, quite willing to overlook her minor deviation from the current topic. Her quick nomination brought further encouraging grins from Tao. He had enjoyed a brief display of Eiden's careful, if perhaps mildly elitist, diplomacy himself when he had occasion to first meet him, and had to agree that he would likely be well suited to the task if he was willing to take on the responsibility.

"I admit, Eiden would do a fine job, at least from what I've seen of him. Seems to have the right attitude."

He quirked a brow. "Is there anyone else we can ask? I'm drawing a blank right now..."
