It had been a few hours, since the exam started. Everything was going according to plan, the Zaft trainees had to navigate the Debris Belt, find the beacon without getting shot apart by their instructors. Unlike the others, Makoto just played games with the novice pilots; she would pop out of nowhere, and strike.

In the middle of the debris field, Makoto hides behind a rectangular piece of wreckage belonging to a downed vessel. Her helmet let out a small amount of fog, as the many systems on the console were shut off. Makoto kept only the bare essentials online, the suit’s mono eye moves little by little. She slowly analyzes the area, pinpointing the incoming trainees on her screens. “About time….” A pocket watch floats by her helmet, as the second hand moves across the 12 O’clock marker. “Scenario Part B…begins…” Makoto grabs the watch and tucks ties it around a small flap on the console. She looks over at the earth, and at the swirling clouds covering major parts of the world. Her eyes look down at Australia. It looked so peaceful from Space. Sadly, looks were deceiving. Lots of people, namely Coordinators were dying protecting one of the last functional bases on the surface. Makoto lost in through, slowly notices the blinking light from a Ginn High Mobility type hiding in the debris several meters away from the Kampfer. The Kampfer’s head turns, as its mono eye relays the message to the other instructors.

“Let’s do this!” A cocky trainee spins around Debris while others try to keep up with him, while keeping another eye out for what lurked in the debris around them. “Wait, you’re going to fast… We’ll fail for sure!” A tomboyish pilot grits her teeth. “Shut up, there are at least two other groups of three out there. They’ll be spaced out… If we go fast, we’ll win for sure.” The concerned pilot shakes her head, and pushes her glasses up before closing the visor. “I hope you’re sure…” The trio of Zaku continue toward their target, a downed shuttle with three cylinder beacons floating around it. One for each team to retrieve, if they could make it there.

OOC: L3 Dagger L3 Dagger

IC:

In the distance lurking closer to the Debris Belt an Agamemnon Cruiser slowly moves along the horizon before it comes to a slow stop. The entire ship was painted black with a few Omni logos scattered across its hull. A pair of black L3 Dagger hovers by the bridge. Their thrusters let out a small burst, as they come to a landing below the bridge. The magnetic clamps latch onto the deck, as the lead L3 looks around. The servos in the head click, as it looks at the small light flashing in the debris belt.

Onboard the vessel, inside a small waiting room, Gabriel Stroud sits behind a desk wearing a black pilot suit. He looks over at his clipboard, and lets out a small laugh. “We need to show those foolish coordinators that space is dangerous territory.” Gabriel lets out a malevolent smile, and tosses the clipboard on the desk. On the clipboard was detailed information, about the Graduation Exam, and a picture of the Kampfer was pinned onto the paper. “You know what to do Muerte, have the ship maintain its current heading. I doubt those things; can detect us with all the interference.” Muerte stands up straight and salutes. “Yes, Sir, we’ll maintain our current heading. Good luck…” Gabriel exits the room and slides down the hallway.

Moments later, Gabriel floats into the open cockpit of the Exus. He pulls the shoulder straps over and locks them together. “For a blue and clean world…” The Exus’s canopy closes, as the bed moves toward the catapult. Gabriel closes his eyes and exhales loudly. He closes his helmets visor, and grabs the throttle. The count down timer starts, as the catapult lights up. “Gabriel…Launching.” The Exus flies down the catapult towards the debris field. The two L3 Dagger from before, detach off the hull and follow after Gabriel.

Muerte stands on the deck of the Kestrel, His arms folded behind his back. “Hold current heading, but keep an eye out on the Zaft vessels on the opposite side of the belt.” The operation touches her headset. “The single Laurasia is holding position; they are still monitoring their units in the belt.” Muerte kicks backwards and lands in the captain chair. He folds his console over, and presses a few buttons. “Cut all non-essential systems, I don’t want anything to jeopardize this mission. Remember if we get caught, we don’t exist.”

It had already been an hour into the simulation. One team had already been knocked out of the exam. Makoto fires the machine gun at the Zaku warrior in front of her. She grits her teeth as the paint rounds slam into nearby debris. “You missed babe, take another shot I dare ya.” Makoto hated this pilot, he was cocky and arrogant. She was sick of holding back; he was the first of the second team. The other two split off in order to distract Makoto, and the other instructors. Makoto increases the throttle, and spins around wreckages with ease. The cocky pilot scrapes and scratches debris, barely making it out of the areas without major damage. “You little bastard…I’m going to make you squirm.” Makoto fires another burst of paint rounds at the Warrior. To no avail, she had missed again. The Debris was starting to get thicker and thicker. The cocky pilot turns around and fires his gun. “Heh, I’ll make you squirm, after all there is no woman that can resist my touch.” Makoto lets out an evil glare, “Then let’s see if you have the endurance of keeping up with me!”

Both units continue their battle, while others are in similar types of situations. All of them too distracted to detect the advancing enemy lurking in the shadows. “Take this commander Jackson!” The tomboyish pilot fires her paint gun, as the blasts slam against the chest of the high mobility type. “Gotcha!” She lets out a loud and victorious laugh. Jackson slows his suit down, and pushes his com switch. “Good Job, I’m going to have to commend…..” The tomboyish pilot’s eyes widen, as a green beam rips through the center of Jackson’s suit. “Comm….” She looks to her right as the warning system goes off. Pair of beams flies through her suit. Both mobile suits explode into a torrent of fire, lighting up the small area showing the silhouettes of the L3 Daggers.

Onboard the Laurasia Carrier, the CIC operator turns around. “Captain, there has been two explosions in sector five! Commander Jackson and Trainee Berman’s signals have been lost!” The captain looks over in shock. “What caused it a collision?” The operator’s eyes widen, as the heat detector goes wild. “Two GAT-02L3 Daggers, the Earth Forces are in the area!” The captain immediately turns to the com officer. “Get Commander Alexander on the line!”

Makoto comes to a stop, as the cocky pilot grabs the beacon in his mobile suits hands. “I won B****” He lets out an annoying laugh, and turns his suit around. “I can’t believe I beat an elite like you at a simple test like this! You’re pride must be really beat after this one. I can’t wait to….” A text only message displays on the cockpits off all the remaining units. “Warning Return to Calhan for live ammunition, Alliance Mobile weapons are attacking!” The cocky pilot lets out a loud groan. “Damn Naturals, what are they doing out here.” Makoto blasts off towards the Calhan at maximum speed. Damn Alliance bastards, we miss calculated their patrol route.

Gabriel lets out a laugh, as he looks at the units surrounding the Laurasia carrier. It amused him, not only could they not fix all of them inside. Most of the weapons they were using were test equipment. His Exus flies at maximum speed, as the two L3 Dagger catch up behind him.

“Basil, Carlos, take out those pathetic coordinators.” Basil lets out a slight snicker. “I was waiting for you to say that.” His Dagger pulls off from the group and blasts ahead. Carlos lets out a small nod, and follows after Basil. Gabriel taps his finger on the console, and looks at the distance meter. The computer lets out a loud beep, as the Gun barrels detach off the mobile armor. They fly off forward towards the waiting mobile suits and the Laurasia cruiser. “Take this you coordinator bastards!” The gun barrels let out a concentrated barrage.

Alexander’s eyes widen, as the beam blasts from the Exus fly toward him and the other units around him. Only him, and Makoto were the experienced pilots. Only four trainees were still with the Laurasia. The team that lost earlier left on the second carrier. His suit, now equipped with combat ready equipment dodges the incoming fire. The gun barrels were still drawn, more fire was yet to come. “Damn it, three of them!” He looks over, as the Kampfer flies out of the catapult with is combat equipment. “Alexander watch out!” Alexander turns to see Carlos closing in with the beam saber drawn. His Ginn quickly turns sending a hail of gunfire at the mobile suit.

Makoto holds the bazooka tightly in her arms. The Kampfer’s engines flared wildly. “Commander, get that ship out of here! Warn Armory one now!” She closes the channel, and looks over at Basil’s unit. Her targeting system locks on, and a shell flies out of the bazooka. The Laurasia’s apogee motors start to turn the massive warship around. “Good Luck, Hirahana, Alexander.” The captain’s voice was filled with regret, as the Laurasia starts to move away.

Carlos lets out a growl, as he holds the shield to block the incoming fire. The bullets slam into the shield, causing dents to form over it. Carlos looks over with a serene face; it suddenly changes into one of a madman. “You are annoying me!” In a split second, the L3 Dagger collides with Alexander’s unit sending it backwards.

Gabriel lets out a smile, as he locks onto Alexander’s unit. All four gun-barrel swirl around and fire a full barrage. All eight beam blasts fly directly at various parts of Alexander’s suit. Gabriel made sure that the coordinates would be exact and to the point. The new quantum computer, allowed a faster gun-barrel lock on.

Basil looks over, the alarm sounds, as he aims his beam rifle. He fires a single shot at the incoming shell, just before the blasts hits the shell splits apart. It was a scattering round, the large ball bearings and shrapnel fly into his Dagger’s shield and main body. The suits visor shatters, as the main monitors go black. Basil yells frantically, while he activates the secondary cameras. “Damn it, Damn it!” He fires the beam rifle wildly in front of him.

Alexander flies backwards, as his eyes widen. The beams rips through his mobile suit, the limbs are ripped off, along with the head before a second wave of beams tear into his suits frame. He lets out a yell, as it suddenly turns to static over the Zaft comlink.

Makoto’s enraged expression growls, as she spins around the Dagger in front of her. Basil was blind, and was firing his rifle wildly. It was obvious this guy was in a panic. Makoto licks her lips and boosts to the side of the weapon. “Good bye love!” The Kampfer pulls the trigger sending a shell at point blank range at Basil. Basil lets out a loud yell, as his Dagger explodes into fragments of heated metal. “Who’s next you bastards!”

Gabriel points towards the Laurasia “Go destroy the vessel Carlos…this unit is mine.” The Gun barrels retract, as the Exus flies toward the Kampfer. “I found you, Makoto Hirahana!” The linear cannons fire two salvos at the Kampfer. Gabriel lets out a loud laugh, while he waits for her reaction.

Carlos’s unit lets out a nod, and blasts towards the Laurasia. “Why don’t I get to play with that blue mobile suit?” Gabriel lets out a smile. “Because, I have unfinished business with its pilot, now go I don’t want that ship to return to plant!” Carlos lets out a disappointed sigh, and creeps up on the Laurasia.

The Laurasia’s Ciws fires shot bursts at the mobile suit to its aft section. The mobile suit was too agile for the cannons to adjust their firing vector. The engines let out a bright flare, as the apogee motors turn it around. Everything in the ship jerks, as the change in direction causes people to be thrown around, as well as supplies coming unbuckled. The rail guns turn and fire at the small craft missing it completely. “Its too small, and its approaching quick! Sir, we need to deploy the trainees!” The captain growls, “They don’t need to be launched! They have no experience, and we don’t have any more live ammunition for mobile suits!”

Makoto’s eyes widen, as she suddenly loses her composure. “It can’t be…” The Kampfer hovers backwards, as the first blasts strikes the mobile suit ripping off the armor from the chest, and blowing off the right shoulder leaving only the internal skeleton. “Damn it!” The first hit made her regain herself; she grabs the thruster and changes the output. The Kampfer dodges the second salvo, and fires two shots from her bazooka. The clip pops off the loader, as Makoto’s eyes widen. “I have to reload!” Dreadful imagery of torture and enslavement runs through her head. The demonic face of Gabriel Stroud ran through her heart. There is no way I’ll return to that…no way!” A tear rolls down her cheek, as the Kampfer reloads the bazooka.

Gabriel lets out a laugh, as he spins around the fire. He looks at the slow reaction of the Kampfer and laughs. “Are you hesitating because you want to return to my side? You were always the best Makoto! You would always please me more then the others! It pains me that I have to kill you, oh well there are more beautiful thing in this ocean of stars!” The Exus detaches its gun barrels again, they swirl forward, and two of them activate the beam cutters while the others rise higher to fire the beam guns.

Carlos dodges the incoming fire, and aims his beam rifle. The reticule flashes red on his visor, as he pulls the trigger. Green blasts exit his rifles barrel, and flies toward the bridge at the nose of the space craft. “You guys are too slow to take me down!” He looks over his shoulder, checking the side monitors. The interference was starting to thin. “Damn it…” He pauses for a second, a message pops up on the side monitor. “Good..good!”

Makoto looks over; she shakes her head trying to get the images out of her head. She couldn’t control the feeling rushing through her body. “I don’t want to return to that dreadful place! I won’t let you do anything like that to anyone else!” Before the Kampfer could react, the right arm is sliced clean off, followed by the left leg. Explosions rock the mobile suit sending it backwards. Makoto lets out a scream, as some parts of the cockpit explode. The beam gun blasts slam into the rest of the mobile suit tearing holes around the cockpit.

The Laurasia carrier moves slowly as the blasts hit the thick armored hull. The helmsman lets out a loud sigh of relief, as the ship continues its fire at the single L3 Dagger. “Continue the barrage, we can’t let this happen! This is unreal how can naturals pull off an attack this successful!” The CIC operator turns with a shock on her face. “Commander!” He turns over with a glare, “What is it…”

Gabriel lets out a laugh, “Come on, don’t you like it, this is rather familiar!” The other two gun barrels retract their beam guns and activate their cutters. They fly forward and attack with the others battering areas around the cockpit. Gabriel wanted Makoto to feel as much fear and pain for running away from him all those years ago. He looks over at Carlos, “Carlos rip her out of the cockpit!”

Carlos moves out of the way, but his Dagger is clipped by Ciws, and bounces around under the weapons rate of fire. The bullets move across and penetrate through the cockpit. Carlos’s eyes widen, as he yells helplessly while bullets fill the interior. The Dagger sparks, as it quickly explodes by the Laurasia. Its wreckage provides a small blanket over the bridge’s view window.

Muerte lets out a smirk, as the Agamemnon flies into view of the Laurasia. “Fire cannons now!” The two beam cannons on board the carrier fire a severe barrage of energy at the Laurasia. It was obvious that the Zaft forces at Armory one would catch notice of this skirmish. It was only a matter of time before they would counter-attack. Muerte lets out a groan, it was a bad thing. Two more of the L3 Series were destroyed, only a handful still remained at Ptolemaeus. He looks at the blue sheen of the Earth. Muerte thought of how Asuka was coping without his or Gabriel’s presence.

Makoto’s eyes widen, as she yells out frantically. Beams rips through the cockpit nearly avoiding Makoto and the pilot seat. She shakes her head, as the once glorious Kampfer is cut to pieces. The main battery shuts off, leaving the entire cockpit black. Only the outside and the bright beams light the area. Makoto unbuckles herself from the seat, and kicks to the canopy. It was halfway open from the battering from the Exus. Makoto pushes the emergency release button; as the small explodes blow the hinges off the canopy opening it. Makoto kicks off the console and out of the Kampfer. She turns around, and her head turns toward the Exus. It still cuts up the Kampfer until it explodes. Makoto shields herself, as the shockwave knocks her towards the debris field.

The smoke from the L3 Dagger’s explosion clears, as the Agamemnon appears. The captain’s eyes widen, as the blasts tear across the ship ripping gaping holes into its hull. The alarms start to sound, as the abandon ship message starts to play. The captain stands stationary. “Get off the ship now! Get into the pods!” The CIC operator tosses her headset off and runs towards the exit with the others. The Captain leans over his console with his head held low. “Will we truly win this war, or will we…” Escape pods start to fly off the Laurasia, as a final beam barrage blows the bridge apart. The Laurasia started to tilt, causing minor explosions to go off across it.

Gabriel looks over, as Makoto as she exits the cockpit. “What a stupid girl…” The Kampfer’s explosion started to push her toward the debris belt. A smirk covers his face, as he re-directs the gun barrel. The wire guided barrel flies toward Makoto’s position, and slams into her body. Gabriel lets out a demonic laugh, as Makoto’s body bounces off the Gun Barrel like a rag doll. It was unknown if she was still alive. But one thing was certain; the wounds would be too severe for a person to walk away from it. The explosion of the Laurasia lights up the surrounding. “Mr. Stroud, its time for us to leave.” Muerte appears on the small console. Gabriel closes his eyes and moves the hair from his eyes. “Bon voyage Mon chere.” He blows a kiss to Makoto’s drifting body, and blasts off towards the Agamemnon cruiser.

Makoto’s eyes widen, as the side of the gun barrel slams into her body. Several bones in her body quickly break and shatter. She coughs out blood onto her helmets visor, and floats off towards the debris of the Laurasia. Her life starts to flash before her eyes, as she twitches her finger. Blood dripped down her cheek from her tear duct. Makoto couldn’t feel anything below her waist. Her eyes started to become heavy, as the escape pods float nearby.

OCC: Maybe she’s dead, maybe she’s not….
