According to some spoiler sites there's a rumor going around that Sunrise gave it a go on another seed series. If you hear more details and/or rumors, post away!

It's been said that a sequal series has been greenlit, but most of the rumors flying around are just rumors without truth. Other than Destiny SE, and Stargazer, there isn't anything reliable out. It's not certain if Stargazer is the sequal mentioned, or if a third series really is in planning. I wouldn't be surprised if it is, but we probably won't have anything reliable to go on untill next year.

Until official word, my belief is that Stargazer is an OVA and that the sequel project remains (by virtue of past convention) Double Destiny... aka Gundam DD, and there will be lots of seed-ed Mia clones piloting copies of Nobel Gundam.

Considering what they did with CE in Destiny, is it really that implausible?

CE (or at least Destiny 50) is a demonstration of how 100 episodes of doing what the fans want = Bad End.

Amen to that last part Piroko. Yeah I really hope that they do not have another SEED series or at least make it be darker. There isn't a need for another series to show how Kira and Athrun's piloting skills are better than the combined power of ZAFT and the Earth Alliance.

There's nothing to say that a third round of Gundam Seed couldn't be good. They would need to take a new direction with the story and directing style, though. I'd say that with a new director, (and maybe less OMG, GUNDAMZ), the series could prove to be of fairly high quality. Without any announcements of yet, there's no way of knowing how things might turn up.

Yeah well I think any universe could have could story if it had the fundementals right. I'm just saying from the path Destiny took I have little faith.

I would not mind a Seed 3... if we kept Chiaka Morosawa the hell away from any writer's chair. For those who do not know, she was the head writer for Seed and Destiny, as well as Director Fukuda's wife.
I personally blame her for all the problems in Seed (invincible main, Lacus, the TSA) - as well as most of the problems with Destiny (Horrible writing after episode 34 or so, obvious bias towards Kira, shoving aside the new cast for the old cast, multiple clip episodes caused by late scripts from Morosawa, shoving Cagali off to the side because she dislikes Cagali, bringing Mu Two/Neo in for no reason, dismissing the Athrun x Cagali relationship, and nerfing the new cast for a rushed ending).

If they do make a SEED series, personally I'm hopping for a full length Astray series.
