Review Etiquette

I AM SO SICK OF THIS. Do you know HOW many times I have to suffer, reading the following statement:
"REVIEW! OR ELSE I'LL SIC (insert name of character) ON YOU!"
The point of writing is for fun and to improve. Many would-be writers are under the impression that writing is just for the sake of reviews and fame. As. If.
I know that's harsh, but believe it or not, it's true. So many people act like...(insert insult)...just for the sake of gaining readers who will review their stories, often badly written.
On FFN, or ff.net, I have seen authors who will throw the "bishonen" of the work at the readers and bribe them to review, saying things like, "You can have him if you review!" That is sickening. Absolutely sickening. I know one off the top of my head, but will not name him/her.
*takes a deep breath* I could go on forever, but people do not beg and bribe for reviews. That disgraces the point of writing.

Side note: Names like "MidnightShadowElf" usually indicate...Mary-Sue-ness and little originality. Just something to notice.

Just about everyone does that on Fan Fiction. I also see "review or I won't update!", which gets on my nerves, as well.


Although, I admit that on Fiction Press I'm guilty of resubmitting my work if it doesn't get reviews. (That's just so people will see it in the "Just In" and critique it, of course; yes, I know, excuses, excuses...)
