He was in pretty dire straits.

His life was a shambles

He had not seen his daughter in two years

He was alone in a strange, new land

His work resembled a vacuum cleaner

He was hanging onto his sanity with slippery, cracking fingernails!

What has changed

Moved from Wausau, WI 30 minutes north to Merrill, WI. It's actually IN what they call the Northwoods. (Think Mayberry, only slightly bigger)

I have been seeing a very nice woman for over a year. I now live with her *GASP* and her three teenage kids. (This, however, does not mean I have suddenly developed a higher tolerance for ALL teenagers!)

Although I still work for the same, sorry employer, I have moved from the C-Store I DID work in to a third shift job at one of the Truck Stops they work. STRANGE work environment, to say the least.

I actually had my daughter for an eight-day visit at the end of the summer.

My Plecko, Spot (you old timers will remember him) now resides in a 90 gallon home, along with three blood parrots named Bob, Bing and Dorothy, three clown loaches named Groucho, Chico and Harpo, three Blue Gouramis named Larry, Moe and Curly, and two Chinese Algie eaters named Hoover and Eureka. Spot's OLD home in a 10 gallon tank has small fish in it now And not a GUPPY among the bunch!

We have a 12-year old beagle we adopted from the pound a couple months ago named Elvis. He's not Killroy (the oldtimers will remember HIM, as well) but he IS a hound.

I work part-time as the Sports Editor on a small weekly newspaper here in Merrill. It's my first journalism job in five years. I hope to parlay it into a photographer ONLY job on a daily in a year or so. So I managed to make it BACK into the newspaper game.

I made the jump to digital photography this spring. Now instead of binders of negatives, I have a mountain of CD-ROMS with my images on them.

One of my photos was in a juried art show this Spring. I'm in negotiations with a gallery further north of here to have a BUNCH of my landscape photos in there this Spring.

I did NOT go to Rockfest this year! (HUGE *GASP* from the oldtimers) Had to choose between going to Rockfest or having time off when my daughter visited. It was a no brainer.

What HASN'T changed

I'm STILL older than dirt!

I'm still a bit of a crank! (especially on Tuesday and Wednesday, when I get little sleep because my jobs run into each other and I get little sleep)

I STILL do not suffer fools easily! (Annoy me at your own peril!)

I STILL photograph musicians when I have the time, and somebody I like comes around. Just haven't had the time of late!

That about brings all you oldtimers from the old board up to date.

What has changed

I also no longer look like my avitar.

My hair is short and nicely styled.

I have different style glasses.

The orange hat is only worn on rafting trips on the Wolf or Wisconsin Rivers. I wear a fedora or a Columbia crusher, depending on if I'm shooting or not.
