I have decided to release a few select repaints, mostly British Airways 737s in Landor colours for the Fiftynorth model and eventually a decent Landor coloured 767. Condor and Lufthansa shall be included later on, but I will take my time to take care of the one thing that makes me fail: attention to detail.

First I need some help with a repaint. I need to know how the hell I can paint the wheel caps on the Fiftynorth 737's main landing gears.

Here's the WIP of G-BOZA (leased from Maersk Air) so far, with painted engine pylons to match the engines, underwing registration, subtle shine on the titles, a tail that needs serious touching up and Royal Mail sticker on the left side (not seen in this shot).

30 seconds of looking through the texture files instantly shows that 50N_detail1_t.bmp has the wheel textures and you can easily figure out which are which by looking at it in FS. Just do a search in the actual folder first and you can find what you're looking for.

I know where I can find the textures of the wheel caps, but if I try to paint there, I lose all details, that's the problem.

Multiply the color paint that's over the wheel cap.

What do you mean? Simply making a new layer, paint over there, set to multiply and that's it?

yes. If the details are then too dark, just erase the color layer you make, by taking like a 1 or 2 px eraser pencil and erase the details you don't want darkened by paint.

What about reducing the fill opacity or the general opacity?

What about it? You want to lighten the wheel caps, paint a different color, or darken them?

Darken them. Anyway, nevermind that, I sorted it out. Thanks though.

Now just the finishing touches on the tail and maybe the fuse and then off to work on G-DOCK (one of their owned 737-436s).
