Roselia flipped off her shoes that was the last time that she would try to tackle those stairs in high heels. She picked up her shoes and carried them over to her desk and flopped down. Finally some peace and quite, but she didnt get to enjoy this for long because her "peace ans quite" was interupted with the sound of kids. Roselia quickly slipped on her shoes and stood up.

"Please quickly find your seats" She said as she scanned over her class.

"Good evening class I am Professor Hawthorne, and welcome to Astronomy." "Okay so what is astronomy? well, astronomy is the study of the universe and what it contains."

"Okay, today we will talk about the planets, Can any one name all the planets?"

A young boy in the back rased his hand.

"Yes"

"Umm.... Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto"

"Yes that correct thank you" "Now before we can talk about the planets them self we must know how they were formed." "For a solar system to form a solar nebula must collapes under its own gravity. As the cloud collapes it heats up and compresses in the center. It compresses enough to form a protostar. Next the gass cools off enough for the metal, rock, and ice to condense out into tiny particles. The dust particles collide with each other and form into larger particles. Once large enough to have a nontrivial gravity their growth accelerates. At this point, the solar system is composed only of solid, protoplanetary bodies and gas giants. The "planetesimals" would slowly collide with each other and become more massive. Eventually, after ten to a hundred million years, you end up with ten or so planets, in stable orbits, and that's a solar system. These planets and their surfaces may be heavily modified by the last, big collision they experience."

Roselia looked at the clock.

"Okay for home work I would like a report on how the solar system was formed."
