I've tossed around the idea of a mock draft contest. I figure there are two options:

1. Free contest, no prize.
2. Entry cost, cash prize.

Yeah, I'm down. It really depends on how much I'd have to put in. If it were like, between $5-20, I could probably do it, but anymore, I couldnt.

I'm just curious, how exactly would we organize all the money...

Also, since I'm relatively new to this board, how would this work? Would it be like the NFL Franchise you have going now, or something else?

I would think that a draft board would work better.

Reasons:
-Then you dont have to worry about trades
-Takes more talent to make an accurate board than an accurate mock draft
-Would weed out the people that really aren't interested

If its for money, will it have to be 18+? or is it not considered gambling.

At worst we could say that we are making a donation to my hunting club. And then, the money gets stolen by the winner. Yay.

Over on NFL Draft Countdown, we did one last year. We awarded i think 2 points for a correct choice, and then 1 point for the correct position because of the possiblity of a trade. I am thinking there was another way to get 1 point, but can't remember. Maybe the right player in the right position, just a different team.

How far are we going? Just the first round or all 7? I'm down for a one or 2 rounder, but that's about it.

Count me in for this gambling contest! Cha-ching!

I'd do a free one, but really the money aspect makes it all the more attractive. It's like a chick - sure, you'd hit anything that even showed a mild interest, but you'd much rather she looked like Jessica Alba.

just throwing this idead out.

you have to pick 32 players who you think will be drafted in the 1st round.

from those 32, you have to name your top 15.

from that top 15 you have to name your top 10.

from that top 10, you have to name your top 5.

from that top 5, you have to name the #1 pick.

For every player correct in the real first 32 picks, you get 1 point.
For every player correct in the real first 15 picks, you get 2 points.
For every player correct in the real first 10 picks, you get 3 points.
For every player correct in the real first 5 picks, you get 4 points.
Getting the #1 selection correct will get you 5 points.

that way you don't have to have all 32 players correct, and in the right slot. the way i just threw up, give it more variety. i've always thought it was harder to make a 1st round board anyway.

i'd be up for a cash.

Or like the two florida state girls in your picture. biggrin.gif

I'm not much of a gambling man, but if it was for 5-10 bucks I'd be down for it.
