I'm looking forward to seeing Iowa beat Florida for the second time in 3 years. Should be fun.
Should be a good game. I really don't know too much about Florida's squad this year. Other than Chris Leak. He's a lot different player than the last time Iowa played him. A helpless freshmen who we beat up all day. Poor kid. Now we have a D-line made up of 2 freshmen and 2 sophmores who are all 4 starting for the first time this season. He'll have an easier day in the pocket this year. Now we have Drew Tate though. We'll see how he does. Should be a good game. 11 EST on ESPN, check it out. -------------------- Iowa Hawkeyes

Iowa just got F'N screwed. They kicked a field goal to make it a 7 point ball game with 1:48 left. So they kick an onsider, and recover. But the referee calls offsides on Chad Greenway. They show the replay, and Greenway is a good yard behind the line when the ball is kicked. I didn't watch much of this game, but of what i watched, the refs screwed Iowa. On that field goal drive, Iowa was running a hurry up offense. Florida tried to substitute a lineman, but he didn't get off the field in time, as Drew Tate hiked the ball. But was there a penalty called?? Nope
gotta love the announcer though. He was going crazy over the 13 guys on the field and the offsides call. When explaining a kickoff coverage hit, "the reciever got all jacked up" and then when explaining the job of the receiving team on a offsides kick; "Have one person try and catch the ball, while the rest of the players become blockers and knock out the fools who are trying to recover the ball" -------------------- And shepherds we shall be, for Thee my Lord, for Thee.Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth unto Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be.In Nomime Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sanctis

I of course watched the whole game since I'm an Iowa fan. You should have seen the first half.
Plus, that roughing the kicker penalty, WTF was that? An Iowa player is running in trying to block the punt, then the punter gets the ball away, so the Iowa player holds up, actually trying to hold himself backward so much he falls over backward. Oh no though, his finger nail clips the foot of the punter. Better call running into the kicker, and give Florida a first down. This is why I love Kirk Ferentz. Post Game Interview: Iowa Radio Announcer "Well coach, I know you can't comment directly on the officials, but I mean that last onside kick call kind of sumed up the day of an awful job by that crew." Coach Ferentz" Well, I guess I'll just say that these officials were consistent all day." Laughs. One question guys. Why do Sun Belt and WAC officials get brought in for Big Ten/SEC, and Big Ten/Big 12 Bowl Games? They suck! Worst officiating ive seen in a long time. Iowa didnt play a great game but they had quite a few calls go against them. Well never know if they would have won, but all the calls seemed to come when Iowa was getting momentom going.
Chris Spielman former lions LB called the game with someone else, but he was ticked throughout the whole game yelling and whatnot. He was INTO the game, thats the kinda announcer I like. -------------------- ![]() You cain't touch this!!!! [Not My team but my favorite player] |

Me too. Someone who's truthful about the game. He said at the end of the game that he was so passionate about the game he hated to see it end because of the officials terrible calling. The main announcer was Mark Jones. Also one of my favorite announcers.

I was really pleased with our intensity and aggresiveness, although we kinda backed down and let Iowa back in the game late. Urban's 4th down call late in the fourth was pretty gutsy, that's the way to nut up. The officiating was absolutely atrocious, there's no way around it. We beat a solid team coached by who i still think is the best coach in college football. Most squads would have rolled over after being down 31-7, but give credit to Iowa for bettling back.
Looks like we'll finish in the top 12 in the final polls, maybe top 10 if we are lucky. Going 9-3 this year, a very good bowl win, undefeated at home, undefeated against our main rivals, and with a a wealth of talent heading down to gainesville, i'm telling you guys, Urban Warfare is upon us. All u other SEC posters...Jojo, Big Al to name a couple, better get ready to compete for 2nd place in the SEC for years to come. And we'll be back on the national stage on a consistent basis too... IT'S GREAT, TO BE, A FLORIDA GATOR, SAID IT'S GREAT...TO BE...A FLORIDA GATOR!!!!! -------------------- ![]() GATORNATION...UNITE!!!

I'm not bitter against Florida. They played a great game. It's just too bad the refs had to mess up the call at the end among many others. The game would have been much more interesting. Florida still may have one, and the highlight of the game would have been how close it was, not how bad the officiating was. Which is all anybody is talking about in this game now. It's too bad for both Iowa and Florida.
