"Marcus Vick will be suspended an undetermined number of games next season if he returns to school for stomping on a Louisville player in the Gator Bowl.
Vick vowed to return to Virginia Tech last week, but this could certainly change things. The NFL could be tempting. Another possibility would be transferring to a Division I-AA school, which he considered the last time he was in trouble in Virginia Tech."

Is it over? Is he finally gone? Do people still care about him?

HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!

He's getting everything he deserves. I just hope the suspension sticks, and isn't something lame like 1 game.

I'd say that situation was pretty different. While I didn't like the fact that Reynolds did what he did, he was genuinely sorry for what he did. I think he just got too intense & couldn;t control his emotions. Vick just proved for the umpteenth time that he's a no good punk & he doesn't care about anyone but himself.

I don't know. Tressel showed the kind of person he is by only suspending Reynolds for 1 game. I think Reynolds should've been kicked off the team.

Mike Patrick, Joe Theismann and Paul Maguire, ESPN -- How is it earthly possible to drop from half a star to none? Easy. They used to provide a teeny weeny bit of information. Now they provide none. And they contradict themselves, often from one series to the next. I don't think they're really fully aware of what they're saying.

It really was overdone. Not that it was right, but he just did a stupid thing & instantly realized that it was stupid. Guys like Vick continue to do things like that & never feel bad or realize how stupid it is.

i told the play to my assitant football coach, who is in his first year teaching and just got out of college last year where he played football. He said he had no problem with it. He said practically every play, every lineman on his team would go after the defenders nuts, trying to get an advantage any way possible. I am surprised how people can do that. Not only is it not right, but the same people complain when it happens to them.

Yeah, the NFL is absolutely going to love this guy. rolleyes.gif What a joke and a jerk, a team would be disrespecting their entire offense if they chose this guy to lead other grown men.

If Marcus even thinks he can go pro, he's certainly mistaken. I don't know how long the suspension is, but I wouldn't guess it would be more than 2 or 3 games.

I didn't think I had enough hate for 2 Vick's, but this piece of sh!t makes it easy.

I wonder if the NFL will encourage the dong-slobbering for this VD-in-waiting turd just like they do for his brother?

Maybe Beamer should have dumped this problem child after the 1st incident.

By now he must realize the entire Mexico, I mean Vick clan is a blight on humanity, a waste of DNA.

Hokies end ties with troubled QB VickESPN.com news services

RICHMOND, Va. -- The president of Virginia Tech said Friday that quarterback Marcus Vick has been permanently dismissed from the football team.

Marcus Vick, who faces discipline for his behavior in Virginia Tech's bowl win, also has additional off-field problems.

The junior quarterback, who stomped on Elvis Dumervil's leg after the Louisville defensive end tackled Vick on Monday during the first half of the Toyota Gator Bowl, was to meet with coach Frank Beamer on Friday.

He also faces charges of speeding and driving on a suspended driver's license, Cpl. James West said Friday. Police stopped Vick in Hampton on Dec. 17, and he was charged with driving 38 mph in a 25 mph zone, the police spokesman said.

Virginia Tech had suspended him for all of the 2004 season because of legal troubles.

When the school announced Vick's suspension last year, Steger said if Vick faced additional off-field troubles, "his Virginia Tech career is effectively ended."

Vick was not penalized for the Dumervil incident but was rebuked at halftime of the Gator Bowl by quarterbacks coach Kevin Rogers, who said he even considered pulling Vick from the lineup.

Vick said later it was "an accidental play, and football is football." He also said he had apologized to Dumervil. Dumervil said no apology had been offered.

"A no-character individual," Dumervil said after the game.

Rogers, who has mentored Vick in his on-field and off-field behavior, was livid with his quarterback, chewing him out at halftime, and after the game.

"There's no reason for that in the game," Rogers said. "It's flat-out embarrassing. I don't coach that way, and I don't expect him to play that way."

The incident is the latest trouble for Vick since he elected to follow his brother, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, to Virginia Tech. The elder Vick led the Hokies to the 1999 national championship game and was the first pick of the 2001 draft.

Marcus Vick played in 11 games as a backup in his freshman year, then was suspended from school last season after he was arrested, along with teammates Mike Imoh and Brenden Hill, for giving alcohol to 14- and 15-year-old girls. He pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge.

The younger Vick also later pleaded guilty to reckless driving and no contest to marijuana possession after a police stop in July 2004.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

I tell ya, this is really refreshing to see a program live up to its honor and integrity like VT has done. I have gained a lot of respect for the VT program (Despite being a Canes fan.

But now I can't wait to go on the finheaven boards and see thread titles like "DRAFT VICK CUZ HE PZWNRSSSSS"

There is no place for that type of a person in college football. It should be a privilege and an honor to be able to play football at that level and with that privilege comes the responsibility to be a good citizen. Virginia Tech should be commended for sending the message that the thug mentality will not be acceptable.

He'll go undrafted. Question marks about his heigth, arm strength, production and character will sink him. Guys like Antajj Hawthorne and James Butler fell without having done anything quite like this kid.

But this guy is a QB, who has, in some team's minds, a lot of potential. And he has the name of "Vick." That'll make some teams take a chance on him as early as the 4th round.
