I think Nate Kaeding is proof that you do not select a kicker on the first day of the draft.

well...in his defense, it WAS raining pretty hard...Longwell's played in freakin Green Bay for 9 years, he's used to that...Kaeding plays in San Diego...as Lewis Black would say, being the weatherman in San Diego is the easiest job one could have "How's the weather today?" "Nice, back to you"

BJ Did hold for the FG, Longwell commented on the perfect hold. BJ also averaged like 46 yards a punt as well.

oh ya BJ was by far the most impressive player on the field for both teams IMO. he had one that was kinda short, about 38 or so, and than had a good bounce resulting in a 53 yard punt. but it was sky high. All his punts were really high and thats probably the most important thing right now, not distance, because we have struggled with our punt coverage teams and the higher it is, the longer the guys have to get down there

I was impressed with Montgomery of the Packers last night as well. He played with a real high motor and made a couple of plays that I thought he was completely out of at first.

Montgomery impressed me too. The Packers could use a guy that can make the kind of special teams hits he made. He also looked good at end. With the lack of real depth at his position, he might just make the roster if he keeps that up.

I was also impressed with the play of Michael Hawkins. I know he got burned on the td catch, but he made his share of plays and he's not afraid to hit someone.

I wasn't able to see much of how people did in coverage except jason horton being picked on, al harris being burned badly once, hawkins beat for a td, and some guys wide open on 3rd down. But what i saw from the safeties i was very impressed. They all came up hard in run support. mark roman layed a few licks on guys, one help causing a fumble that was ruled an incomplete pass. Nick collins layed his share of licks, losing his helmet on one of the occassions, and freeman layed a pretty nice lick on a guy even tho he was penalized some how. Todd Franz who i dont expect much from also made some nice hits. Never saw Underwood, and only saw a little of Little. I felt everyone tackled well except barnett. and the pass rush from the DTs was non existant.
Joey Thomas wasn't on the "out for the game" list, but i never saw him in the game and didn't expect him to be in the game, did anyone see him?

I was surprised Harris played since he and Thomas have missed quite a bit of practice time lately. Collins did look pretty good too. Did anyone notice that rookie 7th rounder Will Whitacker started at right guard? Supposedly he's been having a good camp.
