Miju had organized his first exhibition match. He had spent weeks scouting for a location, until he finally came across one unusual one in paticular. He felt it gave all kinds of ninja equal opportunity, but was more interesting than fighting in an open field. He spent a full day preparing for the match before showing up.
-----------------
This would be the first time Miju had fought other ninja, but he had already planned out his first move ahead of time. The momment he saw the name on the Exhibition roster, he new there was going to be trouble, a clan member was going to participate in this match. Since they had a Kekei Genkai, Miju decided he was the most dangerous and he should find some way to deal with him. Miju reached down and picked up a rock.

"We'll begin when this stone hits the ground...", he said, throwing it and catching it as spoke. He held out the stone and looked skyward, but instead of throwing it...he turned his palm over and let it hit the dirt.

BATTLE ORDER - Kayori > Yurame > Miju > Minami

Uchiha Kayori - August 14, 2006 07:03 AM (GMT)
Kayori was looking forward to the event that was going to take place that day. He was going to take on three other Genins, all from the Leaf. Kayori wasn’t an accomplished ninja, and he was always getting into fights and fighting it with brute force. He had never learnt to use his surroundings to his advantage and he never strategizes. That is one of the main factors that always led him to losses in battles.

But today was different. Despite knowing the fact that he was going to lose the battle, it did not stop him from taking part in it. His opponents are recently graduated Genins, but with the odds against him, Kayori could predict the outcome of the battle.

Strapping his arm wraps and hand bandages tightly, Kayori was quite tense about the upcoming battle. He had never done this before, and the only fights he had entered were mano-a-mano fights, which was always his loss. Kayori checked all his equipment thoroughly and examined his primary weapons. Two broadswords that possessed extraordinary abilities; one has the ability to cause explosions while the other has the ability to extend to an amazing length.

When all was ready, Kayori head out to the arena. The skeleton of a condominium that never got to be completed. Now it’s a deserted place where nobody even goes.

Battle Start
-------------

Kayori could hear the crunching of the gravel under his feet, and the desolateness of the place made it a perfect battle arena. As Kayori went closer to the ruins, he could see three distant figures already there. All three of them were standing at a considerable distance from each other.

All of the participants, only Kayori had the Kekei Genkai, or bloodline limit, that of the Uchiha clan. A smile was etched on his face as he went up to the trio already prepared to start the fight. Kayori nodded his head as he took his distance, a distance of 20 feet between all of them. To his right, Miju; his left, Akio and in front of him, Yamane Minami: a team member from Deuce Ace.

“This isn’t going to be pretty,” Kayori mumbled as he took the first action. He eyed his surroundings and found several drum cans full with some liquid. At first glance, he could guess that there were some containing water and some with oil. A smile was again on his face, and with that masking his real emotions, Kayori took out his Windmill Shuriken. His first objective was to deal at least a little damage to each of his opponents.

Concentrating chakra to his feet, Kayori dashed forward, towards Minami. With a few feet left between them, Kayori did the seals for the Kage Shuriken no Jutsu and threw the Windmill Shuriken with all his might straight at her. Hoping that it would hit her, Kayori could only trust his abilities. As soon as that was accomplished, Kayori drew out his Scroll Pack and summoned his black broadsword. It glinted in the precious small amount of sunlight that managed to shine through the frame of the building. Doing the same thing to his feet as he had done when he raced towards Minami, Kayori pulled out all the stops in his dash and held up his broadsword.

Using a similar strategy as he had attacked Minami, Kayori increased his chances of striking with one jutsu.
“Sharingan,” Kayori muttered as his eyes turned to a violent red with an additional pupil around his main one. It gave him a clearer vision of his surroundings and made him more sensitive to the things around him.

With a jerk of his wrist, Kayori landed a strike with his Snaring Fangs. He had attacked with the saw-like edge, to cause more pain. Kayori did in a manner so as to allow the topmost fang on his blade to bite into Akio’s flesh and sinew. If he were lucky, it would damage him enough to reduce his battle efficiency. Kayori ripped out the sword and thrust it into the ground beside him. Dust rose as the impact of the sword on the ground created lift.

Turning his sight onto Miju, Kayori tried to think up a strategy on the spur of the moment. If he used the same strategy on Miju, it would likely backfire as it had been utilized twice.
“Damn, I should have paid more attention to bro when he taught me,” Kayori swore under his breath.

Kayori decided that using a combination would be best. Again, Kayori dashed straight at his opponent. Miju prepared himself as he saw Kayori dashing at him with his broadsword. When the distance was covered, Kayori didn’t strike with his sword. Instead, he dropped the sword and bludgeoned the surprised Genin in the stomach with his knee. Learning from his fight with Riki, Kayori finished the kick with another manoeuvre. Crouching down so that his elbow could be positioned correctly, Kayori elbowed Miju in the same place, knocking him down.

Kayori sure was glad that he had activated his Roll Wheel Eye, or rather known as Sharingan, as it made him faster and more agile. But after dealing so many attacks, Kayori knew it was time to rest for a few minutes, or at least a few seconds and prepare to take his opponents’ reply to his ‘friendly’ gesture.

yurame akio - August 14, 2006 11:05 PM (GMT)
Walking up the arena where his first offcial fight was scheduled to occur, Yurame remebered what the sheet with his opponents name on it where. There was Minami, the only female in the fight, Mijuu Tenchiryu, a guy on Yurame's team, Team 7, and lastly, Uchiha Kayori. Kayori was the main person Yurame was worried about. Not because of the Sharingan, but because he was just straight out stronger. He knew that he probably could have a challenge with the other two people, but if they teamed up to take out Kayori, them maybe he had a chance at removing the last two. It was a dirty tactic, but in a fight, rules don't apply. He also spotted the drums around the area, but one stood out to him the most; the one marked "Water." This should be fun.

Battle Start
-----------------

Getting to the center of the arena, Yurame watched as Mijuu dropped the stone and Kayori dashed straight at Minami. I feel sorry for her. He thought as he made a full bodt armor from the water surronding the drum marked water. The drum burst opened as he summoned it to his position. The sheild shaped like a kite shield was the last to complete, but it was the first to go also. As Kayori came running up to Yurame, used the shield to block the brute of the damage, but he was still hit with some of it. "Damn." he said as Kayori went over to Mijuu. Regardless of being his teammate, he didn't try to help him, knowing that the second he did, Kayori would all over him like flies to a dead body.

Yurame then realized that this was his time to act. He ran up behind Kayori and he made his fingers into the hand seal of the tiger and he crouched down and he did one of the most humiliating justu known to the village, Sennen Goroshi. It was only used so that he can get into better position to follow up with his next attack.

He then gathered up some of the water surronding the battle field and he froze it onto his wrist. The blade had a wicked gleam, seeming to ask for blood, and Yurame was never one to misplease someone. He rushed back at Kayori and he slashed at him hoping to do some damage. He jumped back and he planned out his next attack.

Yurame knew that he had to keep up the pressure so he rushed back at Kayori. He got three feet from him and he dropped to one knee and he spinned on that one knee to hit Kayori in the ankle and swept Kayori to the floor. He sprung back up and moved to the third floor of the building, hoping to get some rest before the rest of the guys found him.

Miju - August 15, 2006 02:37 AM (GMT)
OOC:
QUOTE
Kayori nodded his head as he took his distance, a distance of 20 feet between all of them.

Actually it says twenty meters which is closer to 60 ft, but I dont know if thats really all that important.
----
The Uchiha came in fast; tucking his staff under his arm he performed a string of handseals, using the kawarimi no jutsu he exchanged places with the Uchia! As Kayori charged Mijuu he suddenly found he had already passed him. Mijuu took advantage of his position and punched him in the back of the head. The technique not only helped him avoid an attack, but got him closer to a target.

As the others began their attacks Miju performed another technique, leaves swirled around them and littered the battleground. This didnt seem unusual, as it was already windy. He had barely finished the jutsu when a burly man landed behind him, he carried a heavy Zanbatou in each arm - standing over seven foot his great muscles strained as he swung.

"Wha-", Miju was cut off before he had a chance to act, let alone for whatever jutsu he was performing to seemingly take affect. The heavy blade easily cleaved his head from his body, his corpse was left laying in the dirt, blood spraying. The man, evidently a missing nin pointed one his blades directly at the Akio! "Was this just between the two of you, or can anyone fight?!" He was covered in blood, and wore rags that looked like the tattered remains of a butchers smock. The man charged Yurame; holding his arms out he began to spin, the two Zanbatou blurring together.

Despite the brutality of the attack, Miju was in reality, very much alive. He had used his Magen- Narakumi no Jutsu; the horrifying vision Mijuu gave Yurame was his own murder commited by an incredibly savage enemy. The real Miju dashing at full shinobi speed, came around the side, closing the twenty meter distance. True, Yurame was on Team 7, as was he - Miju wanted to know him better. What better way for Ninja to know one another than through Ninjutsu? While Akio was focused on the missing nin's spining attack, the "undead" Miju had an advantageboth because of the mist and the illusionary foe. He swung at Akio with a low strike in attempt to knock him off his feet. Runing away, he headed for the unfinished building. This "hit and run" would draw Akio away from the main fight, in addition to leaving Minami to deal with the Uchia.

Minami - August 15, 2006 11:28 AM (GMT)
Minami was so excited. She was going to fight other ninja! The only ninja she had fought was Taishi, and that was just a spar that had certain rules to follow (which were broken by Taishi). Since then, she hadn’t fought any other ninja since she was so busy with missions and training.

Another thing that made Minami anxious for this fight was that she was going to fight not one ninja, but three. Two of them she had never met before: Tenchiryu Miju and Yurame Akio. The only thing she knew about them was that they were on the same team. The other ninja she was to fight was Uchiha Kayori, a teammate from Deuce Ace. Minami didn’t know much about his fighting style, but she knew that he was a much more experience ninja than any of the participants in the match, so he shouldn’t be taken lightly.

The four genin met up with each other at an old abandoned construction site. They each stood a considerable distance from each other; about 20 meters at most. Kayori was in front of Minami, Miju was to her left, and Akio was on her right. Miju picked up a rock and said that the fight would begin when the rock hit the ground. Then he turned his hand over and let the rock fall and hit the ground with a soft thud.

Battle Start

Almost instantly, Kayori ran straight towards Minami. He quickly shortened the gap between them and threw a Windmill Shuriken at her. Without much time to react, Minami dodged the attack by jumping to the side, and then she threw a kunai at Kayori to try and counter it.

She landed near one of the many sandbags that were scattered around the construction site. Then she noticed that another Windmill Shuriken was heading right for her. Minami glanced at the sandbag she landed by and got an idea. When the shuriken got close enough to her, she replaced herself with the sandbag. The shuriken hit the sandbag and made a large rip across it. The bag leaked sand all over the shuriken, slowing it down until it fell to the ground.

Minami quietly ran hid in the skeleton of the abandoned building. When Minami looked up, she noticed that Miju was concentrating on fighting Akio and Kayori was resting from all the jutsu that he had used against the other ninja. Deciding to let the two teammates fight for a while, she focused on attacking Kayori.

Minami took out another kunai at Kayori, hoping to distract him. Then she quickly left her hiding spot and positioned herself in Kayori’s blind side, his back, and kicked him as hard as she could. Without waiting to see if her attack was successful or not, she ran backwards, creating a good distance between her and Kayori, and took out her flute. After gathering chakra into her mouth, she played the Yugami no Fue’s strange melody that, if it reached Kayori’s ears, would make him dizzy, and therefore slow him down and make him an easier target for other attacks.

Battle Summary

Action 1: Counters Windmill Shuriken by jumping to the side and throwing a kunai at Kayori – 1 chakra

Action 2: Used Kawarimi no Jutsu to dodge the second Windmill Shuriken – 8 chakra and –10 ACC to second Windmill Shuriken

Uchiha Kayori - August 25, 2006 06:21 AM (GMT)
Kayori had actually landed a hit on every of his opponents despite the injuries being minuscule. But as he had tried to deal as much damage as possible, the others were doing the same to him. Kayori’s hit with his Snaring Fangs had actually been absorbed by ice armour created by the dual elemental user, Akio. It was no wonder that Kayori had respect for ice users.
“Man, this isn’t the time to be awed, idiot,” Kayori told himself as he turned around and went for his next target.

Dashing at full speed, Kayori attempted to elbow Miju in his abdomen and then following it with a bludgeoning knee attack. With that in mind, Kayori performed his combo but halfway through it, Miju had actually used Kawarimi no Jutsu to dodge his first hit. It left Kayori dumbfounded for about half a second before he realized it and quickly kneed Miju in the abdomen. It hit him and Miju returned the blow with a punch. Kayori would have been knocked forward by the blow to the back of his head had he not turned around and stopped Miju’s punch with his own fist. Knuckle to knuckle.

As he was prepared to counter anything, it seemed that his enemies were ganging up on him to give him some pain. The first that came was Akio who was running towards Kayori from behind. Kayori observed the seal that Akio was doing, thinking what ice jutsu that the ninja would use. But then it hit Kayori as it wasn’t a seal for a jutsu, but just his fingers positioned for one of the most humiliating taijutsu techniques of the Leaf. Sennen Goroshi. Since Akio wasn’t dashing at such a fast speed, Kayori turned around to face him and before the fingers in the position of the Tiger seal could get to him, Kayori prepared a counter attack of his own.

With Akio within range, Kayori slammed his foot into the boy’s face, throwing him off the ground and a few feet away from him.
“Shit, I can barely cope with this battle,” Kayori mumbled as he looked around him for any signs of incoming attacks. Turning back to Akio, he realized that the boy had gotten up and had been given enough time to perform yet another jutsu. Feeling a wet breeze around him, Kayori looked around him to find droplets of water all around him being compressed into ice to form a wrist blade around Akio’s hand.

Smiling, Kayori did the hand seals for a similar jutsu of his in record time. Having chakra being compressed invisibly around his hand and wrist, Kayori burned when it was solid enough to be considered a blade. The fire blade, Rekka no Jutsu, had been utilized and Kayori was proud to see that he had the chance to pit it against the Dominari Fujitsu. Akio ran at him, with his ice blade poised to slash. When the arm bearing the ice blade came in a slashing motion, Kayori caught that very arm and broke the ice blade with his own fire blade. Both elemental chakra blade was broken and dispersed.

Kayori leapt away from Akio and focused on the other incoming attacks. The next one was Minami and she had used the Dynamic Entry to try to land an attack on him. Thinking quickly, Kayori took the blow but not without payment. As Minami finished her attack, Kayori caught her hand. Although both were from the same team, Kayori had no choice but to defeat her. While Minami was being caught in Kayori’s vice-like grip, Kayori grabbed the sword that he had left thrust into the ground. Muttering an apology, Kayori brought his sword down on Minami’s shoulder with the Fang biting into her flesh.

Kayori slowly let Minami who was bleeding on the floor and jumped away, leaping up to the second floor of the incomplete condo.

yurame akio - August 27, 2006 07:47 PM (GMT)
Since the only attack of his that actually made it's mark was the Sennen Goroshi, Yurame felt that his first attack was pretty much useless. He didn't have time to block the counter attack Kayori threw at him, so he tilted his head and he used the ice helmet as a buffer to soak up most of the blow once again. Kayori was slowly but surely destroying Yurame's armor and Yurame wasn't happy with it.

When he went in for his first attack, he noted the legendary swirls of the Uchiha in Kayori's eyes, he knew that he was in trouble. When he rushed at Kayori with the ice blade, Kayori even went as far to block it with a fiery blade, similar to the one Yurame was wielding! This was going to be a hard battle he thought as he set up for the next attack.

Out of nowhere, a huge man appeared and cleaved off Mijuu's head. "Who the hell is that?” Yurame said as the man muttered something and charged at him. He began spinning so fast that dirt and water started to mix in with his vortex-like attack. Yurame knew that he wasn't fast enough to dodge this attack, so for the first time in his life, he gave up hope and just accepted his death. He closed his eyes and he remembered the promise he made to his grandfather two years ago, the day he died. He vowed that he would kill Youso, the man who destroyed Yurame's life, and now, he couldn't do it.

He waited for his death, and for some reason, it never came. He opened his eye's and the man wasn't there. "Where is h..." he said as something struck him in the legs. Luckily, the armor covered his legs as well and the attack didn't really hurt as much. "Who hit me?" he said as he turned around to watch a very much alive Mijuu dashing away from the spot. Damn you Mijuu! he thought as he looked around for the man with the two swords. Where the heck did he go? he thought as he ran off towards Mijuu, while keeping an eye out for the missing-nin.

As he ran after Mijuu, he did a rapid flash of hand signs and the water around him started to come to life. It floated in air for a split second before it turned into a dozen frozen birds. He yelled "Tsubame Fubuki" and the birds went flying towards Mijuu's back. He hoped that these would hit, mostly because he messed up Yurame's attack plan.

He soon reached Mijuu, still a bit fearful that the missing-nin might come back, and he went into some basic attacks. He was buying time, just so his opponents would tire themselves out. He brought his left leg up and he swung it around in a roundhouse kick towards Mijuu's head. He leapt back and he rushed straight ahead as he froze a senbon into his hand. He stabbed towards Mijuu's left mid-section, hoping that the senbon would slow him just enough for him to use one more attack.

As he dashed to the right of Mijuu, Yurame tied together a kunai, ninja wire, and an explosive note. He jumped over Mijuu and he threw the kunai straight at Mijuu's chest. The explosive note started to glow as it flew threw the air. He landed and he dashed behind a half-built wall and he heard the explosive note blow. "Didn't want to do it too ya Mijuu, but it was necessary. Now back to Kayori." he said as he stood up and dashed back into the fray.

Miju - August 29, 2006 07:43 PM (GMT)
As Mijuu ran towards the structure he heard a strange sound. Cocking his head over his shoulder his eyes widened slightly as he caught a glimpse of what it was. A stream of frozen birds were after him. The genjutsu is over already? The illusionary foe generated by his genjutsu had faded, but Yurame was still visibly shaken. After brief string of handseals, there was a puff of white mist. It cleared quickly, seemingly having no effect, but in fact Mijuu had created a Bunshin directly behind him. He and his substitute were so aligned and in synchronous motion, that from behind them it appeared as if they were the same body. The clone dissipated as quickly as it had appeared when the birds tried to converge on him.

Mijuu whipped around to face his assailant, sliding backwards as he did. As Yurame bridged the gap between them, he lifted a leg and turned his head to the side – the telegraphed sign of a roundhouse kick. However, just because you can see an attack coming, doesn’t mean you can avoid it. Dodging it was made easier by the fact that Akio’s nerves were still in shock from the Magen Narakumi no jutsu, his reflexes slowed, and the fact that Mijuu retained most of his momentum as he slid. Leaning back, and bending his knees the kick passed harmlessly over him. Continuing to fall backwards, he caught himself, placing a hand behind him. Had he actually hit the ground, it would have taken too long for him to recover, leaving himself open. Pushing off with the same arm, Mijuu sprung back into an upright position just as Akio’s foot returned to the ground.

Yurame drew his right hand behind him, and brought his left arm across his chest. His equipment pouch… Mijuu had seen several weapons tossed around since the match started, he wasn’t going to wait to find out what it was. Putting out his right hand, Mijuu leaned into a cartwheel or a kind of side flip. As the world righted it self, he heard the sound of the weapon cutting the air – it turned out to a senbon.

Dropping the needle, both of Akio’s hands went behind him. What’s he gonna pull now? Expecting a barrage of projectiles, Mijuu rapidly spun the Ikusen Bo with both hands, hoping he might stop some of them. Instead of two handfuls of senbon or shuriken, Yurame revealed just one weapon. What worried him wasn’t the kunai, but the explosives in Akio’s off hand. Though his hands shook, he tied them well enough. The weapon in flight, thoughts raced through Mijuu’s mind. I’ve never been hit by one of those before; If I can deflect it I can avoid the initial impact…but can I clear the blast radius? If he managed to deflect it, there was still the question of where the projectile would go. If the spinning defense propelled it into the ground, he’d be caught in the explosion depending on how far away it landed. If it went into the air, it might explode safely….assuming the thrown projectile didn’t break up and turn into shrapnel. He just didn’t know.

ACTION 1) (Counter) Bunshin no Jutsu – clone takes hit from Tsubame Fubuki, 8 Chakra
Successful bunshin creation, but it is destroyed, and the tsubame fubuki still hits you. Bunshin no Jutsu creates illusionary clones, no solid substance too them, people using them to take hits is just weird..
ACTION 2) (Dodge) Backbend allows roundhouse kick to pass over Mijuu
Successful Dodge
ACTION 3) (Dodge) Cartwheels to Yurame’s left as he tries to stab him with his right
Successful Dodge
ACTION 4) (Counter) Twirls staff in attempt to defect tagged Kunai, 3 Chakra
Unfortunately, twirling the staff let the ninja wire twist up into the weapon, leaving the note right next to you when it exploded. No chakra drained, however, as an added bonus. 8 damage taken.

Minami - September 2, 2006 09:59 PM (GMT)
Minami wasn’t expecting her Dynamic Entry attack to get foiled. As far as she knew, most ninja’s surprise from the Dynamic Entry attack would slow them down enough to not react in time, so she was taken aback when Kayori had caught her fist at the conclusion of her taijutsu. Minami cursed herself for underestimating her more experienced opponent, even though it was for only a second.

Even though she knew it was pointless, she struggled against Kayori’s grip to try and free her hand. As she thought, she couldn’t break Kayori’s grip. She didn’t like her position, since she could no longer perform any hand seals for her ninjutsu. Then she noticed that Kayori had grabbed his weapon and aimed to drive it into her shoulder. She thought that she heard him mutter an apology, which made her feel bad. She always had trouble finding the heart to attack someone she wasn’t on bad terms with, much less her teammate. She knew that would get her in trouble one day.

Then Kayori brought down his weapon and Minami could think of only one way to counter it. Using her free hand, she grabbed his wrist in hope to slow down the sword’s attack and hopefully lessen the damage. Then she twisted Kayori’s wrist so the sword’s blade would point away from her body and then muttered her own apology. She yanked both of Kayori’s arms down so the boy would topple forward. When he was close enough she kneed him in the stomach as hard as she could. As a reflex to the pain, Kayori’s grip on Minami’s fist loosened and she pulled her hand away. Minami released Kayori’s wrist from her own grip and continued her plan of attack. She dropped low and punched Kayori three times in his stomach, adding salt to the wound as some people like to say.

Then Minami heard an explosion from several meters away. She realized that someone had set off an explosive note. She assumed that since she couldn't see Miju anywhere, Akio was the one who set it off (Minami thought that maybe Miju was somewhere amongst the debris of the explosion) While Minami was distracted by the intruding noise, Kayori jumped away to the second floor of the unfinished structure. Minami followed him but hid on the first floor and out of Kayori’s sight. She created a clone of herself and had it climb up to the second floor so it could distract Kayori from the three Tsubame Fubuki birds that she sent up from behind Kayori.

Uchiha Kayori - September 7, 2006 05:51 AM (GMT)
Apparently Kayori had shocked Minami when he had grabbed her wrist during her Dynamic Entry technique. Since Kayori had her in his vice-like grip, Kayori was trying to slash her shoulder, in order to lower her battle efficiency.

Kayori had deactivated his Sharingan due to the continuous usage of chakra and it wasn’t good to exhaust his chakra pool that early. Feeling the knee bludgeoning into his stomach, Kayori let go of his grip on the girl. To his surprise, the Genin tried to land another punch at the same place where he had been kneed, but he wasn’t about to be hit twice in a row. Catching the fist a few inches before it connected with his stomach, Kayori punched Minami in the place she had intended to punch him. Letting go of her hand, Kayori jumped to the second floor and turned his attention to the fight between Miju and Akio.

From the corner of his eyes, Kayori could see Minami boldly walking up the stairs towards him, but when he heard a whistling behind him, the Uchiha turned his head and saw three ice swallows advancing towards him. Since there was no other way, Kayori instantly pumped chakra into Snaring Fangs and made it extend. Controlling the direction where the plates shot at, Kayori manoeuvred it so that it smashed all three swallows made of ice.

Retracting his sword with a loud metallic clang, Kayori pointed his sword at Minami. Lunging forward to throw a kick at the unmoving girl, Kayori cursed himself for not being able to see through the clone as it dispersed in a puff of smoke. Spotting Minami below after scanning around and below him, Kayori drew out his weapons scroll and restored his black blade. Instead he called out another broadsword, Explosion, a metallic orange blade that had a special ability. Jumping at Minami straight from the second floor, Kayori slashed Minami across the arm as he caught her by surprise. But there was more to the attack as the moment the blade drew blood an explosion was set off.

It was the special ability of his sword and nonetheless, it did it job as Kayori not only managed to injure Minami but created a smoke screen from the blast.

Sorry I took so long and sorry it so short, but I barely had enough time to do this. The next will be better
-----------------------------------------------
Dashing back towards Kayori, Yurame didn’t worry about his last round of attacks. They were mostly to get back at Mijuu for messing up his attack. He knew that he’d have to worry about Kayori the whole battle and he figured that Mijuu would at least realize that too, but apparently, he didn’t. I probably won’t win this battle, but I’ll try my hardest. he thought as he stopped behind one of the drums marked “Diesel”. Hmmm, I wonder… he thought as he stepped back from it. “Exploding time.” He said as he froze a windmill shuriken into his hand. He tied a ninja wire around it as he looked for Kayori. He spotted him over by the building he just came out of, so he ran towards him.

He knew that he couldn’t keep this battle up much longer, so he decided to go on the offensive. He threw the Windmill shuriken at Kayori, with the ninja wire wrapped around in his hand. He used it to tweak the attack so it would have a better chance of hitting its target. He let the wire go after the attack was done and he rushed at Kayori once again. While he ran, he did a rapid flash of hand signs and he heard a puff as a clone appeared next to him. It was exactly like him, having the ice weapon as well.

Yurame slide to the right of Kayori, coming up behind his back, and he sent the clone to the front to take the attack that he knew was coming. He kicked Kayori hard enough that he would be sent flying backwards, just so he could get him in position to be by one of the drums. Yurame then did another rapid flash of hand signs and he froze some of the water into birds. He sent them flying towards Kayori and the drum, just so the drum could explode. One of the birds hit the drums and a spark went off that made a huge explosion that sent parts of the barrel flying everywhere and Yurame hoped that none of it hit him.

Miju - September 22, 2006 11:43 PM (GMT)
For a few momments his mind went dark, when it was illuminated again he found himself looking skyward-the rosy dusk had become sable night. Suddenly he was shocked into full awareness by searing heat, his clothes were burning! Rolling in the dirt he smothered them as best he could. The flames extinguished, he lay still again -until something screamed in the back of his mind

Get up -get up idiot!

Yes, there was still a battle to be fought here. The time has come to fight again. Bounding to his feet, he opened his senses to the world. He caught a glimpse of Minami making here way up the stairs to the second tier, towards a cacophony of violence, towards the Uchia and Akio. Yes, the uchia was dangerous -even though he had landed a hit Kayori was still dizzy from the Kunoichi's flute technique.

It appeared as though his adversaries had forgotten him, they would be reminded in due time. Rather than taking an obvious route or leaping to the next level, Mijuu ran up the side of the building -wall running along a concrete column from the foundation, and then a dizzying network of metal beams. Keeping out of sight, he made it to the second tier. Pushing plastic tarps out of his way, he stopped at the stairs. Here is where he would set his trap.

Taking out a bit of ninja wire he tied a tripwire of about calf height between the railings. Then, leaping upwards towards the ceiling he flipped over in time to make contact with his feet. Stuck to the ceiling he created a clone and had it wait oppisite the tripwire. Having secured a position he pressed himself against the ceiling. Next, he executed a basic technique -henge no jutsu. Mijuu took the form of a piece of sheet metal, complete with bolts and all.

All i can do now is wait

Minami - September 25, 2006 05:20 AM (GMT)
Minami allowed herself a break after she sent her ice birds after Kayori. She looked around for the other two shinobi she was up against that she had almost forgotten about. To her surprise, Akio was the only one she could find. She looked around for Miju but couldn’t find him anywhere; something she found odd.

Then Minami heard the faintest sound of movement behind her and she cursed herself for allowing her guard to drop. She whirled around to see Kayori was right behind her, with a new weapon in his hand. The blade of this new weapon was a vivid orange color and Minami had a feeling that the sword was much more than a flashy weapon. Wishing that she hadn’t already used the Kawarimu no Jutsu, Minami could only, much to her dismay, re-use a block that she had used only minutes before. She grabbed Kayori’s wrist to try and slow the blade down, but this time, having a free hand, used a kunai to block the blade from hitting her flesh at all. ”Mental note: learn more defense jutsu and get another weapon…”

Minami’s instincts told her that there was something about Kayori’s new weapon that she wouldn’t like, since a sword colored such a vivid orange color that would stand out in any environment was a suspicious sword in her mind. Instead of copying her earlier strategy of attacking the boy while she had trapped his arm, she instead yanked him to the ground on her left side, avoiding contact with the blade. She retreated by running up the building’s side and to her surprise, she saw Miju. He hadn’t seen her, and she wondered why he was just standing around like he was. Making sure that the boy was still paying attention to the fight, she threw a kunai at him. When the bunshin had disappeared Minami cursed under her breath for falling for such a trap and stood on the third floor of the building’s skeleton.

Minami looked around for any sign of the missing genin and could not find him. Her thoughts of finding him were literally blown out of her mind when she heard an explosion from the ground. After dodging several flying pieces of metal, Minami looked down and saw one of the tanks, which Minami remembered was once marked “Diesel”, was laying in scattered ruin. She didn’t see Kayori anywhere below but she did see Akio, and she had to resist her urge to chuckle and shake her head. ”That boy needs to control his urge to blow things up…”

To his suprise, Yurame ran with the Uchia following. Fighting on the fly the two dissapeared over the perimeter fence, well, through it. He guessed it was just him and the kunoichi now. Reaching behind her, she whipped a shuriken at the decoy, dissipating the clone. Because he didnt have to block any incloming attacks, he felt he was at an advantage. Better yet, something down below distracted her. Returning to his true form, he dropped from the ceiling. As he landed, a touch of his Bo staff triggerd the trap he had set earlier. Mijuu intended for someone to walk into it but this would do fine. Emerging from the smoke with the god-like speed that comes with being a shinobi, he thrust the end of the metal rod into her stomach. Then, droping to a knee, he whipped the weapon along the ground to trip the woman, hoping to knock her from the platform. Springing to his feet, he finished the combination with a downward swing. Before now he hadnt had any real confrontation with the kunoichi, what could she do?

OOC: the fastest reply i've ever done. :kakashi:

=-=-=-=-=

For a reason only they knew, Kayori and Yurame had left the battle, leaving only Miju and Minami to finish the fight. Minami was curious about their reason, but she didn’t have much time to ponder over it because Miju still planned to win the fight. Apparently he had transformed into sheet of metal and once he undid the transformation he came from his hiding place with a long metal rod in his hands. He landed, and seemed to spring a trap; smoke engulfed the immediate area and Minami held her breath so she wouldn’t choke. She wanted to close her watering eyes but knew that would be a foolish thing to do. She couldn’t see, therefore she couldn’t jump out of the smoke because she wouldn’t know where she would land. Jumping off the platform itself was worse; the fall could kill her. She squinted through the smoke and could barely make out anything. She whipped out two kunai so she could protect herself from both sides.

Suddenly, through the smoke, a long metal rod shot through towards Minami. Minami could see whether she could dodge to the side or not, so she did the only thing she could think of. She pressed her two kunai together so they looked like an odd pair of scissors and thrust it underneath the rod so it would be pushed upwards and away from her body; though she still had to lean to her side to dodge the inertia of the weapon.

The weapon’s broken path didn’t stop Miju; he lifted his rod out of the kunai’s arch and whipped it across the ground to try and trip Minami. The kunoichi, suddenly feeling bold (if not a little foolish), dropped one kunai and held the other in her mouth. She jumped to avoid the rod, landed on her hands, gripping the beam’s edges for support, and back-flipped, kicking Miju in the stomach.

Unfortunately, Minami’s gymnastics weren’t as good as she hoped they were. She lost her footing as she tried to land and slipped off the two-story-high beam. Oh crud. Minami looked around wildly to find some way to break her fall and spotted the sandbag she ripped when she used the Kawarimi no Jutsu. She summoned her chakra and called the sand to her.

Saton – Sabaku Fuyuu!

The sand gathered together, compressing into a large clump of sand and floated up below Minami. Grinning, she took the kunai out of her mouth and put it away. Then she landed on the sand clump, wincing slightly from the pain gravity’s force gave her, and stood up wobbly. She let out a large sigh of relief.

“Man,” she muttered, tucking some loose hairs behind her ear, “that was a trip.”

The sand clump continued floating back up to the second story where Miju was still waiting. Had he been watching her and knew she was coming? Or was he unaware of her presence? She didn’t know, but decided to take her chances.

When she floated until she was level with the first story and jumped off her sand clump, ignoring the clump decompress and fall like sand from an hourglass. She created five more ice swallows, a number she wasn’t exactly used to, and sent them in a V-formation after the other shinobi. This should be interesting.

Action 1: (Counter) Used two kunai to divert Miju’s Ikusen Bo – 1 chakra Good try, but +7 Acc beats out having a dodge of alomst 1.5x his speed (and his bad RPing skills).

Action 2: (Counter) Jumped to avoid Ikusen Bo and backflip-kicked Miju. Works, mainly due to RPing skills of both sides

Action 3: Saton – Sabaku Fuyuu – 8 chakra Hey, your flying! Yea you!

Action 4: Hyouton – Tsubame Fubuki – 18 chakra Waiting for dodge...(4 Damage)

All right, for refference next time, you should put your items into the sign-up thread, not the battle thread. This could tick-off some battle judges (like me, as you probably saw). Miju, your only saving grace was the high Acc of one attack and the forgeting of the second attack. Your RPing was horriable when compaired to Minami's. Bit more descriptive, and a bit longer, and more things'll work into your favor without forgetfulness and insane Accs.

Minami, you only forgot the third attack, and that was all. Keep up the good work.

Insane AC? Because of a weap’ with dece’ accuracy and a common smoke bomb?

Let’s get it on! :gaisensei:
-----
Using two kunai in a scissor like fashion, the kunoichi tried to divert his thrust, however –she either lacked the strength to do so, or the speed to react in time. Rather than diverting the attack, the kunai kept the staff on target , like a pool player’s guiding fingers. Mijuu was pleased to see that his first attack found its mark. Following up with a low swing at her legs he intended to knock the girl from her feet, however, she proved more nimble than he imagined. Before his bo staff was able to connect, she came up off the ground in a backflip. As she did, he suddenly thought he might be too close to avoid her legs. Stopping mid swing, he thrust his staff into the floor, pushing off. Sliding backwards, he just managed to clear her feet and a blind kick. Springing forward in another attack, a strong downward stroke upset her backflip. She to lost her grip on the ledge, and went her over the edge. Without warning, sand from unused building materials compressed itself beneath her, forming a floating mound.

“Sabaku Fuyuu… Though I don’t have an affinity for the element, and I’ve never seen saton used in all my mission experience, I’m familiar with the technique. There is only one other shinobi I’ve seen use that technique, Tsuo, my father. In fact, it’s his principle means of locomotion, used every day. During an A-Rank assignment, my father received many back wounds from kunai and katon , protecting a friend. After that mission, father would never walk again. Though he was offered treatment by some of the villages most skilled medical ninja, he declined, for such rapid regeneration might shorten his life. Underneath the floorboards of every room in my home, is sand, allowing my father to regain mobility. I’ve dealt with his sand techniques before…sparring, so show me something new.”

With that she hopped back on the platform. Her hands went into a brief string of seals., he immediately knew what it was when he heard the sound it made. Water droplets in the air condensed, gravitating towards a chakra field tuned to proper affinity. As they did, moving chakra carried the heat away, allowing them to crystallize. Amorphous shards of ice at first, they shaped themselves into many translucent birds. Tsubame Fubuki, a technique Yurame used earlier. Crouching, he sprung towards her left; landing on and rolling over his right shoulder. The flock of ice birds past by harmlessly, shattering on contact with equipment other surfaces.

He needed to think of a strategy, he was primarily a melee fighter but his enemy could keep their distance as long as their chakra held out. There were three ways to take care of this that immediately came to mind. There was the cautious, smart way; by evading her ranged hyouton attacks he could burn up her chakra or draw her into close combat. Then there was the brash, aggressive way; he could rush in and knock her off the platform again at the risk of going over the edge. Mijuu rejected both, and chose his third option, the tricky, clever way –the option any real ninja would choose. Quickly retreating further into the complex, he made for the stairs. Hopping the railing, he dropped into stairwell below, and put his plan to work. Quickly cloning himself, he performed another henge no jutsu, but this time he assumed the form of Yurame Akio.

“I see you’re still alive…”, he said, speaking to his clone in the voice of the red and blue haired boy, “If we fight together, we can finish her quickly, and get to our own bout that much sooner, no?”

Your math's a little off (1 Clone + 1 Transformation = 16 Chakra, not 8), but your RPing's better. Keep up the good work, even as we're coming into the home stretch. Minami, press your advantage!

Minami - December 25, 2006 03:22 AM (GMT)
I'm sorry this took so long (it's also really short). Writers block and exams really hold me back... <_<

=-=-=-=-=

Minami didn’t hang around on the beam to find out if her birds hit Miju or not, she just made her way up to where Miju was as fast and quietly as she could. He was only a floor above her, but since the floor above is out of her line of sight, she had no idea where the second person came from.

She snuck her way up to the floor and hid behind the railing. Miju was talking to Yurame several feet away from her. Where did Yurame come from? Didn’t he leave with Kayori? (Confusion was evident in her expression, something she knew she shouldn’t be showing.) Furthermore, if they were talking, perhaps it was a sign that they were going to team up against her; Minami didn’t care whether or not Yurame’s retreat counted as a loss. However, her primary target was Miju, who seemed to had let his guard down; something really unusual. Minami was torn on what she should do.

Wait a minute…

What if that was the point? To confuse her, Miju could’ve just made a clone. Both of her scenarios made sense, and she had to consider both possibilities. But to deal with both possibilities, a good technique was in order. And I’ll be low of chakra if I use my Reppu to take them both down… No matter which scenario was the correct one, Minami wanted to save her chakra, and there was only one way to deal with the two figures in front of her.

She grabbed a kunai and lunged out of her hiding spot. With as much force as she could muster, she rammed Miju with her shoulder. She wasn’t at all surprised when the form she collided with disappeared and the figure of Yurame retreated from the surprise attack. She smirked and threw her kunai at the retreating figure that she knew was really Miju. She expected a counter attack against the kunai so she used a different skill: Dynamic Entry.

The kunai distracted Miju, so Minami, still wanting to conserve her chakra, kicked Miju in his stomach, sending the boy back a couple inches. While the boy was still recovering, Minami rushed him and punched him as hard as she could in the same place as the kick.

Minami knew the attacks weren’t as damaging as her Reppu, but if she used it, she would have a small amount of chakra left; not enough for another Reppu, which was her most damaging but most chakra-consuming attack. The jutsu she knew weren’t very damaging, which she felt could cost her the fight. She needed to save her Reppu for the opportune moment. The rest will have to rely on her own skills as a shinobi…

Battle Summary

Action 1) Rammed Miju’s clone with shoulder – 0 chakra

Action 2) Dynamic Entry – 1 chakra

Action 3) Kicked Miju in stomach

Action 4) Punched Miju in the same place

Miju - February 1, 2007 04:17 AM (GMT)
His chakra was low, and he was begining to notice how it affected his movements. He had started out strong in the begining of the fight, but began to wear down shortly after Kayori and the real Yurame left. His Bo staff was an effective weapon, but he decided against it because of the energy he'd expend. That's why he'd drawn up this little scheme; would it be a dud, or had he drawn a smoking ace?

Without warning, Minami shot out of the dark, steaming for his duplication. The kunoichi's relative speed had increased with his fatigue, but he was faster still. In addition to physichal prowess shinobi rely on deception, he had to find a means of maintaining his illusion. "I've gotcha bro-", he cried, in an imitation of Yurame's voice. Diving in front of the clone, he sprung off of one hand, landing in Minami's path arms extended. Already moving at breakneck speed, she didn't have time to avoid him. Catching her by the shoulders, he brought his arms into his chest. It wasn't unlink catching a baseball; by moving back with the catch one reduced the force exerted on them, and the chances of hurting their hand. Bringing his head back, he it thrust forward, sending the steel plate of his forehead protecter into her nose.

Everything was on the line; the longer the bout went on, the slimmer his chances of pulling off a victory. Tearing away from him, she wildly threw a kunai. Ignoring the projectile , Mijuu plowed straight ahead. Clasping his right fist in his free hand, and putting out his elbow, he fiercely jabbed her in the stomach. Recoiling, she raised her leg for a kick. Before she could snap the kick, he ducked, his head between his legs. Briefly looking up, he could see she was PISSED. Tensing briefly, then springing upwards, he kneed her in the jaw. However, as he connected, Minami withdrew a fist. Midair he had no way to avoid the attack, and was subsequently thrown by the punch.

Hitting the flor he called out to "Mijuu", under the guise of "Yurame" ," I'll handle this, you set up trap!" At those words, he made his clone retreat deeper into the strcuture, dissapearing from sight.
