**Day One**
Dear Kado,
A council has recognized that you were accepted as a Genin; however, do to the reason that you are a threat to your team, you will report to the Administrative Building to receive your papers of Honorary Dismissal from the shinobi ranks of Konoha. Please, do not make a scene and just accept the papers.
Supreme Council
Swallowing hard as he read the letter twice, Kado fought back the urge to just yell and break down in his apartment; however, only being at the age of eleven, even though hardened by all the years of mental stress, the young ninja soon placed his head down on the table as tears began to steam out. His right hand slowly made it to his chest where he clutched his hoody looking like he was fixing to rip it off, but he was only trying to just find a way to suppress what he felt growing in his chest. The “awful feeling” was growing, and the Genin was thrown in to despair as the pain just grew. It happens to all when they loose something precious to them and to Kado, being a ninja was the most precious thing that he possessed.
He soon gained some mental stamina back and stood up, but he couldn’t move. Kado’s body just locked up on him, and it just wouldn’t move. Tears were still coming out but slowly, and He would give an involuntary shudder once in a while that jerked his body as he didn’t allow himself to cry out as he knew that two Genins were standing outside waiting for him to leave out so that they could escort him to the main building.
Hanging his head down in defeat, the young ninja slowly shuffled to the door still in a daze at to what was really happening to him. Slowly opening the door, Kado, looking out as he put on his slides, noticed that the two Genins. Shrugging, the ninja kept walking in the direction of the main building; the others tailed him as he walked, which turned into the longest walk as time just felt like it slowed down to a crawl just to emphasize its point to him.
Arriving finally at the main building, Kado stopped, but the others didn’t. They passed him up before turning around. Looking at both of them, Kado knew that he could not beat them as they seemed experienced, and a simple Genin that just graduated couldn’t dare think to take them on. Grinding his teeth a little, he started to move; however, the two Genins stood in his way. Raising an eyebrow, the young Genin looked at them with a face of utter confusion.
“Your forehead protector, remove it,” said one.
“What?” asked Kado as the same despairing feeling came once again, this time even more painful.
“You are no long a Ninja; therefore, we were told to confiscate your headband,” said the other.
No longer a ninja?…., thought Kado as he looked down at the ground and closed his eyes as he slowly untied his forehead protector.
Opening his eyes as he slid it off into his right hand, the young ninja began to hand it over; however, he couldn’t hand the band over to the extended hands of his escorts. The fact that he was just going to hand over his ninja-hood just like it was nothing started to boil inside him while his hands tightened around the headband. Looking up at the Genins who seemed waiting for this response, Kado saw their eyes tighten and small smiles develop on their faces as though they wanted to fight, but the young Genin just smiled back and jolted in the opposite direction.
As air rushed against his face, the young leaf figured where he was going to run to and quickly slid around a corner pointing him east towards a majestic waterfall that was a pretty good distance from the village. Rushing chakra to his legs and quickly making haste, the young leaf noticed that he was being pursued by more than just two Genin rank shinobi; however, it was little more than a feeling that indicated this as he flew towards the east gate, which, surprisingly enough, wasn’t being blocked by any Leaf Shinobi.
Score!, thought the Genin as he flew out of the gate and towards the waterfall.
For the first time that day, Kado felt happy as he was going to make his own tracks from now on. A smile slowly made its way on his face as, while running, he tied his forehead protector back on. After tying it back on, the leaf hung his arms back and took to the trees quickly jumping from one limb to another as he cut through the air with his startling speed. While jumping from limb to limb, thoughts of how he was going to get by started to sink in; however, he knew that he would come up with a solution eventually.
Quickly shaking off his self-doubt, the young leaf dropped from the trees landing on his feet in front of the waterfall that he had set as his destination. Still a little excited about what he had just done, Kado walked over to the edge of the ravine that the waterfall had cut into the valley. Looking down, the ninja was a bit amused by what seemed to be endless darkness. Shaking his head at a fleeting thought, Kado quickly turned around; however, he wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
“Where do you think you’re going to?” ask the one person he wished wasn’t there.
“For all the jounin that they could have sent, why did they send the one that was my Sensei??” asked Kado looking at the powerful Jounin.
“Because for some really odd reason, they think I know you, and they think for some odd reason that I would be the best choice in talking to you and keeping you from committing suicide,” stated the leaf Jounin.
“Suicide? That has not crossed my mind ‘till now,” stated Kado who wondered what would posses a person to think that he would even consider committing such an act. Shaking his head he began to speak again, “I only came here to throw away something.”
“What would you throw away? Your forehead protector?” she asked questionably.
“I was going to throw away Konoha because….,” his throat jammed as he struggled to get out the rest of the sentence. He looked down and thought about what he was going to say to justify his actions. The leaf contemplated why this situation was so painful to him, and when he finally came to a conclusion, he cleared his throat, wiped his eyes, looked up to his Sensei, and said in a broken voice, “ ’cause it was going to throw me away.”
After saying the last part of the sentence, Kado turned around and stared once more into the black ravine. As clear, shiny specks ran down his face, the Genin’s thoughts ranged from becoming a missing-nin to joining another hidden village, completely oblivious to what the Jounin was doing until she walked up beside him and placed her right hand on his head messing up his hair, which eased the pain that was residing in his chest. Looking up at his Sensei, the leaf noticed that she was also staring into the ravine, and the leaf soon re-fixed his gaze on it too.
“Sensei Sumire?” asked Kado once he regained his wits. “Is there a way that I can appeal the decision?”
“It has already been appealed and temporarily overturned by the Hokage,” said Sumire as she continued to look over the ravine.
The young Genin turning his head to look at her wondering what exactly she meant by the word “Temporarily”; however, before he could ask her the question, she began to explain the situation.
“Under the temporary protection of the Hokage, I was granted permission to train you for thirty days. In those thirty days, you must do the impossible, but with a teacher like me, it’ll be no problem at all,” stated the leaf Jounin.
Hope began to build itself back in Kado as he nodded his head to his Sensei. A small smile even began to grow on his face as he looked up at the waterfall. Feeling the hand of his Sensei leave his head, the Genin looked back at his Sensei who was digging in her waist pouch. After a little bit, her hand stopped and pulled out two items. Raising an eyebrow, the young ninja stood on his tip toes and looked at the two items in her hand, which turned out to be a Kunai and some ninja wire.
“I need to check in real quick stating that I found you, so Come over here and I’ll show you some little tricks you can do with these two items,” stated Sumire as Kado watched he walked away from the ravine into the near by woods.
Shrugging, the young ninja wiped his face for the last time and hastened to catch up with her. After a little jog, the leaf finally caught up with his Sensei, who motioned for him to come towards her. Tilting his head sideways a little the young Genin walked towards Sumire, but was stop short as he felt something grab his leg. Looking down, Kado noticed that a wire had wraped around his leg and that a tree log was falling to the ground.
Damn…, thought Kado, who at the time didn’t have a Kunai or another object to cut the wire. Slapping his hand to his forehead protector, the young Genin was almost instantly jacked up in the air.
Folding his arms into almost a pouting like stance, the young leaf held his breath as he dangled off the ground spinning slowly around and around
and around. After a little bit of him just hanging there, he finally thought about following the ninja wire and trying to figure out the trap. Looking up at his feet, he noticed the
strangle-knot. Smirking, he followed the wire up and over a branch. The wire then led down to a stump that was used to pull him up. Looking downward at the stump, he noticed a smaller string tied to the bottom. A smile appeared on his face as the smaller wire led to his last footprint.
Damn…I stepped on the line. The line pulled stump down, which in effect closed the snare around my feet…nice…but annoying… “Sensei, are you eventually going to cut me down?” asked Kado. She simply nodded and threw the kunai up cutting through the wire.
After cutting a back flip, Kado landed on his feet and loosened the knot tied around his feet. Once he had his feet out the loop, he through the wire to the side and looked at his Sensei wondering what she might do to him next, but she did almost nothing but stare at him with a questionable face almost like she was wondering if she should or shouldn’t do something.
“Okay, now traps are pretty easy to set,” she started. “You did learn about all the basic knots and whatnot correct?”
“Yeah, I learned them kind’a…sort’a…No, I slept through most of the classes..,” stated Kado.
“Okay, with a simple snare like this one, you need to tie the basic strangle-knot as it is usually the better knot to use,” lectured Sumire as Kado went into a hypnosis state. “You then find an object heavy enough to pull your target may it be a rock, bent tree, or log. You then position you counter weight somewhere strategic like on a branch, waterfall, or whatever you can think of. Be sure to actually have that object to fall on the opposite side of the branch relative to your target. Uh…hmmm…What else… Oh yeah the hidden trip wire. Basically a thin wire, that connects to an object holding your counter weight in place. When your target steps on this hidden tripwire the hidden object is pulled, the counter weight falls off the branch, waterfall, or mountain edge. The counter pulls the snare closed around your opponent’s feet or hands and drags them up or off the side of a ravine or mountain edge to plummet to their end.”
Blinking, the young leaf just stared up at his Sensei. He never had a thought go through his mind that he could position a trap to pull someone straight off a cliff before. Raising an eyebrow at the notion of such a deviously evil trap, Kado’s face lit up into a smile that pretty much meant “I like”. Shaking his head out of thinking about trapping a few people he knew and sending them off into the ravine, Kado stared in wonderment at his Sensei as she began to explain the finer points of the trap, which made the leaf think that the Snare trap wasn’t so bad.
“Okay, now, you make a trap before the night fall, which is in about three hours,” commanded Sumire before she disappeared in a wisp of smoke leaving three spools of ninja wire and a kunai behind on the ground.
Kado walked over to the
spools and kunai and bent over to grabbed them. After grabbing the two items, the Genin placed them in his waist pouch and started walking around trying to find a sport where he could lay a few traps. Once the leaf found a good spot, he unzipped his pouch and pulled out the size “3” ninja wire and the kunai.
Placing the end of the wire in his mouth, the ninja pulled out some wire from the spool and judging it at about seventy-five centimeters (two and a half feet), he cut it with the Kunai slicing it clean making sure not to leave a jagged end. Placing the kunai and spool of wire back in his waist pouch and zipping it closed, the young ninja grabbed the wire pulling it out of his mouth and began to tie a strangle-knot. Once he was done with the knot, the ninja put the loop around his neck, so he could free his hand to grab the Kunai and spool of wire again.
Unzipping his pouch with his right hand, Kado stopped as he looked around thinking that something had moved. As a smile developed on his face, the ninja stopped unzipping his pouch and reached into his hoody pocket for stick of gum. While he was unwrapping the gum rapper, the ninja kept him self prepared for an attack, but nothing happened. Because he was finished unwrapping the gum, he placed it in his mouth and started to chew it trying to think about what he heard the noise come from. Shrugging, he unzipped his pouch again and pulled out the two objects he needed.
This time needing a longer string, the Genin wrapped his hand once with the wire and, after placing the kunai in his mouth, threw the spool up in the tree next to him. With his precision aiming, Kado watched as the spool perfectly arced over a branch and unrolled to the ground. Once the spool hit the ground, Kado took the kunai out of his mouth and sliced through the wire. After wrapping one end of the wire around a lower branch so it wouldn’t be so easily pulled off the higher branch that he threw it over, Kado walked over to the other end pulling the loop off his neck.
After quickly placing a slip-knot that would connect the two separate wires, Kado strategically placed the loop right in the open. Smilling, he grabbed a smaller wire and walked over to another tree. Using one of the above ground roots, the ninja pulled a little wire from the spool and tied it as low as he could and, while keeping low, Kado walked back to the loop and ran the wire right next to the ground compare to the exposed loop. Sighing about how much time this was taking as he would have simply tied a wire to an explosive and been done with the damn thing, the Genin continued to run the wire to the tree which he wrapped the large wire around.
Looking up the tree, the Genin threw the spool over the same branch and cut the wire when the spool landed on the ground. Sighing at how boring this trap really was, the young Genin began to think of better variations of this jutsu; however, the young leaf wanted to finish the trap. Pulling the smaller wire back down because it didn’t need to go over the branch, the young Genin ran it through an aboveground root and pulled it tight and tied it off. Using the slack from the cut wire, the leaf crawled up the tree and tied it off.
Jumping down, Kado quickly looked around for a counter weight as he was getting board of this over simplified trap rethinking how he thought of it before. After thinking for a bit, he walked back to his Sensei’s trap and picked up the stump she used. Once he picked up the stump, he noticed the shuriken lying on the ground.
Hidden object. Placing the stump on one shoulder, the ninja squatted down to pick-up the shuriken and placed it in his pouch before going back to his trap.
Arriving back at his own trap, Kado, after setting the stump down, untied the larger wire from the lower branch and tied it abound the stump. Using the wire on the other side making sure not to step on the smaller, the ninja quickly pulled the counterweight up to the branch. Holding the wire with one hand, the leaf bought his kunai to bear and buried it into the tree right below the stump. Loosening the large wire, Kado quickly climbed up the tree and sat on the branch, which was the one he was throwing stuff over.
Pivoting his body, the Genin brought the stump on the branch. After balancing the stump with his left hand he grabbed the shuriken out of his pouch and placed it in his mouth. He then grabbed the kunai out of the tree and rigged a little hole with it on the branch. After placing the kunai in his pouch, the ninja took the shuriken out of his mouth and placed in the hole making sure not to put it in to deep or two shallow. Once finding the best spot for it, the Genin gently released the stump on to the shuriken.
Breathing deeply at the trap that was just about set, the young Genin untied the smaller string and tied it to the shuriken being very careful.
Damn, I should have done this first. After cutting the slack on the smaller string, Kado untied the larger string from the stump. The leaf then proceeded to pull out the large amount of slack. Being careful to leave some slack in the wire, Kado cut the wire with his kunai before retying the stump.
Done thought kado breathing heavily at his accomplishment; however, his day was fixing to become interrupted by an idiot…
“What a stupid trap,” said someone down below.
Looking down at the person speaking, Kado saw that it was Waki. The Genin’s left eye started to twitch as he realized that Team 16 was below him and insulting hit trap. Sighing, the Genin stood up on the branch and looked down at the people congregating around his trap. Then the situation became worse as their Jounin should up and scoffed at the trap before disappearing in a wisp of smoke.
Geeze. Watching as Waki stood up adjusting the object on his back, Kado thought twice about kicking his rival’s ass, but knowing what was wrapped on his back stopped him cold.
Damn that Puppeteer bastard.Just then the worst thing happened…..
“Hey, look its Kado!” said one of the others.
Watching as Waki’s head turned slowly towards him, the young Genin, inside his head ran around like a little baby crying his ass off, stared back at his rival. A sense of great disliking sparked in them both as they continued to stare each other down.
“I’m not going to beat you up again, Kado, so don’t worry,” stated the ever cocky Waki, “However, you have one lame ass trap here.”
Waki then proceeded to put his hand in and out of the trap saying “In” and “Out”. Although all he had to do was just kick the stump off the branch, Kado held his ground as he knew that Sumire would be back any second to inspect the trap….but…then…
SNAP!
“Ooops, was that the hidden trip wire I just cut with my kunai?” asked the Puppeteer, who then proceed his “In” and “out” joke that his teammates guffawed over.
In…out…in…out…in…out…, thought Kado as he easily predicted his opponents next movements.
“In…AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!” screamed the puppeteer after Kado kicked the stump off the branch.
“Ooops, my foot accidentally…ah to hell with It … I kicked the damn thing,” stated Kado after yawning widely.
“GET ME DOWN!” demanded the puppeteer loudly as though he owned Kado
“Yes Master, Anything for you master!” stated Kado in an obviously sarcastic mannerism. Wielding the kunai, the leaf ninja brought light into his life…..
Snap!“AHHHHHHH,” scream Waki as he fell to the ground.
Thump!“Lame..” stated the Genin; however, after doing what he did, Kado noticed that Team 16 was now staring him down and wielding their weapons with Waki unwrapping his doll.
Shit! Not that damn thing again!!!POOF!
Kado watched as Team 16 quickly packed their stuff and exited the area with all do speed when Sumire appeared next to him on the branch. Still looking down, the leaf’s eye looked sideways to his Sensei, who seemed to be analyzing the situation before saying anything. He then noticed that she raised an eyebrow before tilting her head, obviously in deep thought. Smiling, she nodded towards as though saying “I understand the situation that you were in and everything is fine.” Nodding back to his sensei, Kado sat down on the branch and leaned against the tree so that he could face his sensei.
“Sensei, what’s next?” asked the Genin.
“That’s enough for one day. Go home and rest,” stated Sumire. “Tomorrow will be hell for you because boys can’t learn this skill as fast as girls can.”
Raising an eyebrow at her words, the Genin eventually stood up and bowed to her. After bowing to Sumire, Kado watched her nod and then disappear in a wisp of smoke leaving Kado pretty much there all by him self at dusk. After rubbing his hands together real fast then breathing in to them, the Genin started to jump from one tree to another back to the village.
*DAY 2*
DING! GA! DING! GA! DING! GA!
Jumping up and out his bed in surprise, the young Genin did a half summersault, spinning face-plant into the floor. Grumbling at the ingenious person that did that to him, Kado peeled his face from the floor with a few thoughts; however, when he looked up, he didn’t say anything. The leaf was looking straight at his sensei, Sumire. Grumbling and rubbing his head, the young leaf stood up and bowed to his Sensei before pointing his finger at her and…
“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!” screamed Kado as he began to bitch and groan about waking up so early of an hour and that he would rather catch his hair on fire and punch himself in the face then wake up this early. He then went into a pacing format counting off a bazillion reasons to why he shouldn’t be up that early in the morning; however, he noticed after a little bit that he sensei was just staring off into space and not even listening to him. Once again, he pointed his finger and her and started to tell her off, but it seemed that Sumire was getting tired of Kado’s bitching and dragged him by an ear and threw him into his own bathroom before shutting the door.
“Five Minutes,” he heard her say through the door. Still grumbling about having to deal with his Sensei, Kado stumbled haphazardly into the shower. Quickly stripping out of his night ware, the young leaf quickly took a warm shower making sure to stay within the time limits that his Sensei had given him. Mumbling under his breath, he quickly exited the shower and rushed over to his clothing dresser, which was strategically placed in his bathroom. Opening the drawer and digging out some quick clothes, the young leaf threw on a navy blue colored hoody and placed some navy blue sweat pants on. Right when he reached the door, Kado watched as it opened up with two objects smacking him in the face.
“Put on your flip-flops and let’s go,” commanded Sumire, who seemed a little edgy today for some reason, but she wasn’t helping her position with Kado as he snatched up his shoe-ware mumbling “slides”.
“Alright, let’s go,” she commanded as she wielded around and left out of his apartment. Kado followed only for two reasons. One, he had to follow her to remain a ninja. Two, walking behind her was life a gift from the heavens.
Smiling demonically, the young Genin followed her out of his apartment temporarily forgetting his hatred that he had for her not two seconds before. He then followed her down the street. Boringly, he then followed her to a forest covered area within the village. Looking around the actual area, he noticed that in fact there was nothing but trees with a few snack machines as the exceptions. Raising one eyebrow, the Genin wondered why he was even out here, but his questions would soon be answer…..
“Okay, you know about chakra right?”
Kado didn’t even answer. He was still stuck on the fact that the sun hadn’t even risen over the horizon and that it was cold as hell. The leaf, after a slight staring match with his Sensei, eventually shrugged thinking that it was a decent answer to give as he started getting over himself and finally waking up from the cold.
“Hmm… So you’re not as calm as you think you are, huh?” commented Sumire in a sarcastic mannerism.
Snorting, Kado cut his eyes at his Sensei. The leaf was mad and realized it, but just the fact that he was wakened that early was making him madder for some odd reason. Looking away from Sumire, the Genin tried to bring himself back under control, but, for some reason, he just couldn’t do it.
“Well, let me explain this to you. Controlling your chakra can be difficult and being angry adds to the stress of using it,” stated the slightly unhappy Jounin. “Unlucky for you, a little birdie told me you don’t like waking up in the weee hours of the morning. Double Unlucky for you, I don’t either. Well, not until my morning caffeine booster; however, thrice unlucky for you, that’s two hours away.”
DamnKado then listened as Sumire went into the basic spill about chakra. After hearing her outline the basic information, the Genin fell into a hypnosis state. Fading in and out of sleepy state of hypnosis, the leaf then began to fight it trying to grasp every word that his Sensei was preaching. After she finally ended on the basic summary of chakra, Sumire put her hands together and molded chakra to her legs. She then walked over to a near by tree and placed one foot on it. With his eyes popping out of his head, Kado watched as his sensei walked up the tree with using her hands. Raising an eyebrow, the young Genin stared in awe as his sensei walked upside down on a limb.
Wow…this is so cool… thought the young Genin as he watched his Jounin teacher make a graceful landing in front of him. If there was any anger left in his body, it was now gone as fascination had taken over.
“Now, here’s a Kunai that you are to use to mark how high you achieved. Now, if you excuse me, I’m going. I’ll be back in a while,” stated Sumire before she disappeared in a fluff of smoke.
Okay…this can’t be too hard to learn, thought Kado as he looked way up the tree. Shaking his head he tightened his grip around the Kunai and went at a dead heat towards the tree. Focusing his chakra to his legs, the Genin took one step onto the tree, slipped, and busted his lip against the tree.
Okay, Maybe it is…After wiping the blood off his lip, the young Genin took some paces away from the tree, and clasped his hands together. Once he felt the chakra hit his feet, he threw everything he had to run towards the tree. The Genin started to run up the tree.
One Step! Two Steps! Three Steps!Feeling himself actually caving into the tree, the Genin quickly slashed at the tree with his Kunai and performed a back flip to the ground.
Looking at his almighty four foot mark, the Genin tilted his head as he began to wonder about how he was suppose to handle the chakra in his body. Wondering, the leaf placed his left foot on the tree. Closing his eyes, the young ninja began to tunnel his chakra to his left foot. Opening his eyes, Kado began to manipulate the chakra first concentrating loads of chakra to the heels of his foot which cause the tree bark to crack and break inward.
Like a light bulb, a smile formed on the Shinobi’s face. Putting his concentration back into his left foot, Kado began to concentrate on creating a funnel similar to a suction cup on a wall. Imagining a tornado in his leg, the Genin felt the chakra with in his foot begin to swirl, which in effect still made the tree cave in ward.
Damn. Frowning yet still confident, the young leaf quickly manipulated his chakra to where his foot just stayed attached to the tree rather than slipping or breaking it.
With his left foot finally sticking, the Genin took a quick breath and, trusting in his ability, stood horizontally on his left foot. Sighing in relief after not falling, Kado quickly formed the same chakra flow in his right leg and began walking up the tree. Beginning to get a little relaxed and over confident from his easy adaptation, Kado placed his hands inside of his hoodie warming them up from the morning cold as he continued his stroll up the large tree.
After reaching the top of the tree, Kado looked down at the ground and began to wonder if he should walk down or just jump down. Deciding to go ahead and end his training, the Genin let go off his chakra hold and jumped from tree limb to tree limb until finally cutting a back flip and landing on his feet. Stumbling a little, the ninja looked up to notice his Sensei with a bottle in her hand. Yawning, Kado through his Kunai at her feat and started to walk back to his apartment.
“Retiring so early? Where is this notorious trainer that I was told about?” stated Sumire after taking a sip of what looked like tea.
Yawning widely noticing the sun coming up over the Hokage Monument, the Genin shook his head while stating, “I train a lot, but I also take loads of cat naps. It’s a little skill that I learned at a young age. I barely actually sleep compared to most. Hell, I hardly actually sleep. That’s why I was so pissed when you woke me up because I had just gone to bed not thirty minutes before.”
Looking at his Sensei, he noticed a mild eyebrow rise at was he said to her; however, as far as he was concerned, his training was over for forty minutes. Though, the look the Genin was receiving from Sumire spelt out more training for him. Shrugging, the leaf uncaringly started to walk back to his apartment. As he walked back towards his apartment, a Kunai flew past him sticking a tree.
Kunai? thought the young Genin turning around only to see an open palm attack coming towards him. Regardless of the fact that he tried to dodge the incoming attack, Kado took a direct hit to the face sending him flying several feet before skimming across the ground to a halt bumping into a tree. With the imprint of a hand buried into his face, the Genin looked dazed as he laid against the tree.
Looking towards Sumire and her twin, the young Genin crawled back of to the one he guessed was his Sensei and begged for an apology; however, that Sumire disappeared as his vision came back. Blinking, the young ninja stumbled to his feet and looked at the real Jounin and bowed wondering if she might hit him again. Rising back up, he noticed that she had a smile on her face and was scratching the back of her head. Kado watched her intently hoping that she wouldn’t do that again and flinched when she barely moved her hands. Watching intently, the Genin, making sure to stay out of the way, viewed his Sensei walking over to the Kunai she has placed in the tree.
“Dynamic Entry,” said Sumire as Kado watched her pull the Kunai out of the tree. “You simply throw a Kunai to distract your opponent. Then you manipulate your chakra to you legs and rush your opponent from their blind side. This is a simple Jutsu which you can perform even at your level of chakra control.”
“Hey! I walked up the tree within a half an hour!” shrieked Kado as he began to think that he was being underestimated
“I know kids your age in ANUBU,” stated Sumire handing him the kunai.
“Do you know a kid in ANUBU that can only perform Taijutsu and is only my age?” stated the Genin in a rhetorically knowing that no-one else in the near vicinity was even close to his special ability.—Though, he did know someone else in similar shoes was hovering around somewhere; however, Kado could care less about who that person was.—Watching as his Sensei, who seemed like she was grasping as straws to answer the question, Kado simply shook his head and took the kunai that had been extended out to him.
“You are not the first one, Kado; however, you are quite different from your predecessors,” stated Sumire in a matter-off-fact way. “First, you’re strength is severely low and from what I’m told you specifically trained in three areas. You trained your long muscle and only your long muscle, basic maneuvers, and a little bit of chakra control. From my view point, I think you’re a little weird because I do not get the point of not training your short muscle as basic attacks depend on your actual strength. You mind telling me why?”
“Easy, Long muscle or white muscle goes along with endurance and long distance running. Developing it leads to easy maneuverability and higher endurance during battle. Short muscle or black muscle goes along with sprinting and spontaneous actions. Developing it leads to low stamina and horrible maneuverability. Not to mention, when short muscle is over built, it leads to those freakishly muscled bodies,” stated Kado giving a slight hand movements expressing his distaste for over enlarged muscles. “I trained basic maneuvers as I knew they would help me gain background knowledge for more advanced Taijutsu maneuvers. I tried molding chakra once or twice, but gave up on it and just started kicking, punching, and throwing stuff.”
“Eh? Kicking, punching, and throwing stuff?” restated Sumire. “That is more or less the basic concepts of Taijutsu. I do grant you that much; however, tomorrow, after you master this technique, I will start teaching you actual forms and what not. Now, take that kunai find someone you don’t like and smack him as hard as you can.”
After hearing her last statement, Kado watched as his Sensei was replaced with a wisp of smoke. The young ninja then started scratching his head with his kunai wondering who he would use this technique on and then, an idea came to him. –At this point all living things should have disappeared from the area as his ideas are usually devious and harmful.—As an evil smile developed on his face, the young ninja picture the person he was going to target in his mind.
WakiLooking from left to right, the Genin spun the kunai before placing it into his pouch. After securing the pouch, Kado started to run towards one of the training yards that he knew was used more frequently by Team 16. Once he was up to speed, the young leaf took to the trees and started to jump from one to another. Each time he jumped he would clear a large gap before needing to land on another limb to jump off of.
Coming to a stop, Kado came down on both feet and his arm steadying himself on the small branch that he landed on. Skimming over the training area quickly, the Genin noticed some movements across the field near some dummies. Then he saw a marionette jump from some bushes and start hacking away at one of the dummies. Kicking, punching, and stabbing the dummies in rapid succession, the marionette began to bother Kado a little bit; however, the young Genin quickly saw an opening when one of the spikes it possessed got caught in the wood. It was actually a little funny as the marionette stood with both feet on the dummy and tried to pull out its dagger, but its tries were to no avail sending the wielder of the puppet device into a fury of curses.
Then like a dream, Waki came out from hiding and started to pull out the dagger himself, but Kado had other plans as he reached back to his pouch. Pulling the Kunai out of his pouch, the young leaf had only one thing on his mind and that was getting Waki back for embarrassing him. Spinning the kunai on his finger, the young Genin waited for the right time as he watch his rival finally pull his marionette out of the dummy cursing every step of the way. After seeing his opponent take his fingers off the string as he was going to repair the limb that was stuck, only one word ran through the Genin’s mind.
NOW!Stopping the spin of the dagger, Kado quickly focused all of his thought on the marionette next to Waki. Once he knew that he was focused on one spot, the young Genin hurled the Kunai towards the puppet, and at almost the same instant as throwing the dagger, the Genin flew out of the tree and approached Waki from his blind side. As Waki began to freak out as a kunai had stabbed into the head off the puppet, Kado was already behind him halfway though a fast round house kick to the head. Joy vibrated though Kado as he popped his rival in the head sending him into a fury of cursing and raising ever living hell.
Knowing that he actually stood no chance in hell against the now severely pissed puppeteer, Kado ripped the kunai out of the marionette’s head and made a legitimate full speed retreat back to his apartment.
*DAY 3 (Day of Pain)*
“Okay basically, I’ve heard only good things about your gymnastic skills, but I want to see them for myself before I teach you anything complicated,” stated Sumire to Kado, who was sitting crossed legged in front of her. “Now, kick this points,” commanded Sumire pointing at the top portion of the kicking dummy.
Standing there with a raised eyebrow, the young genin looked at his sensie then back at the dummy then back to his sense. Scratching his head, the leaf wondered how he was going to get his leg way up there with the male limitation hanging over him. Shrugging, Kado walked up to the dummy placing one of his hands on one of the support pieces and kicked up; however, he was unable to kick to the position his sensei wanted his to kick to. Hearing his Sumire give a sigh, the leaf once again tried, but was only able to get a little closer.
“Okay, you can stop now,” said Sumire finally speaking after his twentieth try. “I feared that this might be a problem and hinder the training by one day, but this will be a good day to get you into a kind of schedule that you need to abide by.”
“Schedule?” restated the Genin a bit skeptical of the idea.
“Yes, a schedule. Now, can you actually do a split?”
“No, I can’t do a full split, but I can get close”
After his last statement, Kado watched his Sensei as she stared off into another world. Then watching a smile appear on her face, the Genin was given the commanding look of “show me”. Shrugging and thinking nothing of it, the leaf performed a sort of split that left his rear-end hover six inches over the ground. Watching as his Sensei walked around him looking, like she was inspecting him, the leaf ninja began to wonder what she was up to. He soon found out what she was doing when she placed her hands on his shoulders.
Aw Damn was the last thoughts that the went through his mind when Sumire pushed down and then, he blacked out.
--Now, during this slight time gap. Let me explain to you the reader what happened to our poor little hero named Kado. One, he experienced a trauma that overwhelmed him enough to make him actually black out. Two, after Sumire kicked and prodded enough, she realized that what she did wasn’t exactly the smartest thing in the world to do to a male student; however, Sumire could careless as time was of the essence. She then picked him up and brought him to the local hospital. Must note: When she walked though the hospital door Kado’s head was bang against many object, which will lead to his killer headache and bumps on his head, not to mention, really bad attitude….adding to the severity of the over extended groin area.—
What the? Where am I?These were the first thoughts running through Kado’s head when he first woke up in a hospital room. Looking from left to right, the Genin figured out where he was and after moving one leg remembered why he was there. The leaf developed a low grumble in the back of his throat as he struggle to get up of the hospital bed phasing out the pain. After getting out of the hospital bed, he limped over to his clothes that were placed on the chair next to the bed.
Straining, the leaf quickly took off the hospital gown and with some pain, placed his regular clothing on and limped towards the hospital door. Breathing hard from the pain, Kado eased himself out of the hospital room and leaned against the wall in the hallway. He then began to inch down the hallway using the way to keep his balance and not fall down.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
Turning his head, the Genin looked at a leaf shinobi holding a clipboard. At first glance, Kado knew that the shinobi was most likely a Mednin. Straining to smile, the leaf pointed his head towards the doorway down the hall and began to inch down the hall again. After getting about four inches, he heard some laughter behind him. Shaking his head, the Genin slowly made his way towards the door way as the laughter increases.
“Okay, funs over…now stop this insanity. I mean. All I’ve got to do is a simple jutsu and heal your wounds.”
Stopping, Kado watched as the medical ninja approached him. Watching as the Medical Ninja’s hand lit up, the leaf tensed up causing him some pain; however, the pain soon disappeared when the healers hand neared the injured area. Almost instantly, the pain was gone, and almost instantly, so was the realization that a man’s hand was so near his groin area. Jumping back without any hesitation, Kado quickly bowed to the medical ninja, who had a raised eyebrow at his patient’s spontaneous actions, and quickly left the hospital with all do speed.
Jumping up onto and running up a wall of a building, the young ninja began to appreciate the Mednin’s handy work as he flipped over the approaching edge and landed on the roof top. Quickly scanning the area of the city that he was in, Kado figured that his day was pretty much over and began to go to his apartment. However, as soon as he turned around Sumire was once again just there. Kado back up to the edge of the roof and shook his head making his Sensei’s face fall to a frown.
“Aw, you don’t want to play anymore?”
“You’re Insane, and that’s something coming from me because I honestly believe that I can become a great ninja just by using Taijutsu alone.”
“Great Ninja?” repeated Sumire. “Do even know all the forms of Taijutsu? Do you actually understand what makes a maneuver a Taijutsu maneuver?”
“I understand enough to get by,” said the young Genin as thoughts about his abilities went through his mind.
“What do you understand?”
“I understand that any maneuver in which the chakra of the user cannot separate from the user or posses any hand seals is Taijutsu,” stated Kado, like always, with full confidence and unwavering trust in his abilities.
“Okay, that works in a broad kind of way. Do you actually know the different forms of Taijutsu?”
“Forms?” repeated the young leaf. He had heard about different maneuvers, but realizing that there were different categories of Taijutsu had never crossed his mind before.
“You’re hopeless,” stated the Jounin as she took a deep breath and stated, “Taijutsu comes in two main forms: one, which will be the main one that I will teach you, is Gouken. The other one is Jyuuken. Gouken deals with breaking bones and causing trauma. Jyuuken deals with damaging chakra flow and in essence damaging internal organs.”
Ouch, this may actually be hard., thought Kado as he absorbed the information that his sensei was giving him. “Okay, I’m hopeless, but I’m still here so what do you want?”
“Just to tell you that training resumes tomorrow. Also, stay out of to much trouble today,”
stated the jounin before she one again poofed away in a fluff of smoke.
A grin a mile wide formed on his face once she left. It was now time for his most favorite activity. Slyly pulling out his binoculars out of his hidden pocket, the leaf started to jump from building to building as fast as he could towards the Hot Springs District. Flipping from one building to another, the young Genin enjoyed the fact that he was finally given some time to do his own little hobbies before he started kicking and punching rocks and stumps again.
Pulling up to a ledge over looking the female’s bath area, Kado hid behind a bush and stuck his binoculars through them. With the touch a small red bottom, the Genin was now in for a show as he watched through his binoculars; however, his enjoyment was ruined as he heard another. Twisting his head, the young leaf looked around, but once again could not notice what or made the noise. Almost like a someone had hit the replay button, a finger appeared out of no-where hitting him right on the forehead protector blasting him straight off the edge and into the women’s bath area splashing into the water.
Once he resurfaced, he noticed the multiple leaf forehead protectors that were lying across the wooden bench about six feet from the spring that he was now in. He then realized that all of the hot women that were around him were in fact shinobi. He then realized that he was a dead man….
“KADO!!”
