"The Abandoned Land" Arena: A strange area on the border of the Fire village and the River country, temperature status is unlike anything near it. Instead of being a cool, humid area, it is quite literally the polar opposite. The whole area is frozen, along with the river itself. Dating back to it's history, there are a few run-down Nomadic huts around the area. Given the conditions, this is an extremely hostile place for two Genin to combat. Effects: The ice over the Riverbed itself is fragile, and could be broken with applied force(jutsu, melee, weapon attack, anything offensive that consists of a turn.) It may become mandatory to use the water walking jutsu. Also, blizzard storms are random in this area, and could even occur in the battle(Possible speed reductions, Vitality drops for both players) Effect 1: Breakable ice(Breaks with any intentional offensive action) Effect 2: Possible snow storms(as made by judge), effects my vary from speed stat being lowered for rest of battle, vitality drops, etc. |
Note: Unique Trait:
One with the Blade
You treat your weapon as though it were an extension of your body, feeling its every movement with ease; letting your charka flow through it as though it were just another appendage. This allows you to use less charka in your strikes during combat.
Reduces the cost of all weapon attacks by 2 chakra, to a minimum of 0.

The Preface
In a seemingly endless slumber, Yo couldn't have a trouble in the world. It was a Saturday, and as far as he could remember, he had nothing on his agenda. But, he was always the one to forget things, and this was not a different situation. Just like most young boys, his mother had to remind him of everything.
Walking into Yo's room, she entered without knocking. The look on her face was anything but calming. Vigorously shaking her child's covers, he was rustled from his sleep. Nervous for her son, she began to speak quickly. Noting on the confused look on Yo's face, she would eventually slow down her speech. Regaining his composure, he could finally understand her.
"Yo! Honey, you have a match today. Didn't you remember?"
Oh hell... Jumping out of bed, he quickly gathered the materials he would need in his battle. Taking a quick glance at his clock, it read 12:30. He only had half an hour to make it to the battlefield, which was a twenty minute walk away. Without even bidding farewell to his mother, he opened the door. Speeding his way down the street, he was headed for the East Gate.
Without even looking back, he was soon long gone. He was only worried of getting to the battle on time, and did not notice his surroundings. Shortly behind him, his mother was chasing after him. Hearing a distant thud, Yo slowed his pace. Looking behind him, he saw his mother, gasping for air. Going up next to her, she was barely audible.
”Wait....I got you a...car...a..van.”
Sighing to himself, Yo knew there was no longer a possibility of him being late. Looking off into the distance, a familiar red caravan. Stepping inside the caravan he greeted the long time family friend, Paro. Off Yo headed, to the battleground. He had chosen his opponent, Itamae Masaru; as well as where they would combat. The caravan was going in the direction of the bordering water lands of the Fire Nation.
Getting any last rest in, Yo wanted to preserve his energy. But after fifteen minutes, he was stirred from his sleep. Shivering inside of the small wooden caravan, he knew he had reached the destination. Tales have been told of the Forbidden Land, and Yo found it the perfect place for his spar. It was isolated, so there was no need to worry of bystanders. On top of that, from pictures Yo had seen, it was beautiful.
Any prior notions of the Forbidden Land were now dispelled. It was friggin' cold, which could be expected. But he was really cold. Being a native of two warm countries, he had never experienced anything like this. This was no time to cry about it, though. Stepping out of the caravan, he thanked Paro for the ride.
Making last second preparations, Yo progressed forward. To his right, could be seen a sign that read “The Forbidden Land”, the nickname dubbed to this place, so long ago. It seemed Misaru had not arrived yet, and Yo was standing alone; in the cold. After a few long minutes, Misaru had shown up. It seemed as though he came from nothingness, walking in after a snow storm, as though it had spawned him.
Giving a friendly hello to his new teammate, Yo didn't want to be rude. That would be the last polite thing he did, before the battle started. Masaru took his stance, acknowledging the fight had started.
Battle:
Standing in the grassy area, Yo grabbed into his bag. Pulling out his most prized possession, Silver Justice. Immediately as the hilt made any contact with his fingers, the chakra began flowing out of it. The image of the chakra swirling around in the snow-inhabited air was beautiful. Taking the sword in his left hand, Yo began to form chakra in his other hand. Charging at Masaru, Yo made a quick slash, with his sword.
Going for close combat again, Yo took his sword into both hands. Jumping in the air, he performed a downward slash on his opponent. He applied sufficient force to the attack, not going easy on his opponent.
Immediately after the sword slash, Yo jumped backwards. Aiming his chakra-filled right arm at Masaru, he had formed two Snow Storm Swallows in his hand, with the aid of his icy surroundings. Flinging both Swallows at Masaru, they were going lightning speed.
For one final attack, he kept his sword equipped. Hell, it was effective enough, so why stop a good thing? Rushing Itamae yet again, Yo ran straight by his enemy. Right behind him came the sword, attempting to make contact with Masaru. I wont be a pushover.

Itamae Masaru - December 30, 2006 08:17 PM (GMT)
Hajime
Masaru sat in the branches of a tree, somewhere in that twilight time between being asleep and being awake. He had been forced out of the house by his father who was home from a long trip. The first time and a month and a half he was able to see his father he was shooing him away to a sparring match. Yo was going to pay.
Yo and Masaru had been on a mission before and Masaru had recently been accpeted into Team Kooru Hogosh which Yo was also in. The two shinobi had been friendly towards each other from the moment they had met.
Masaru stretched out and jumped off the branch. He landed with his knees bent and his head down. Completey open to any attacks Yo might make if he was there. Luckily however Yo was not in the vicinity. So Masaru slowly got to his feet and orientated himself before walking towards the designated fighting area.
Masaru had got there earlier as he was kicked out of his house. So he had taken refuge in the foilage where it wasn't about ten below zero. Masaru had been dumbstruck when he first saw it but the cold soon destroyed the awe.
When the young shinobi reached the frozen area again he saw Yo waiting on the other side of it waving at him. Masaru couldn't lift his hand to wave back as he had hidden them under his arms but he smiled at Yo and took hsi ready stance.
Battle
Masaru watched as Yo pulled out his prize sword. The visible chakra mingled with the snow and made the sword seem to be made of pure chakra itself. The young shinobi stared at his team-mate as he charged towards him leading the offensive. Yo swung his sword down at Masaru but it just cut deep into a plank of wood. Yo tried to pull his sword out but it was in too deep, and then he saw the pouch. It exploded sending Yo flying back and the splinters dug into his torso. Masaru had placed a pouch on the plank he had replaced himself with at the last minute.
Yo lay on the floor still reeling from the imapct so Masaru used the few seconds he had to make a string of handseals. The air was moist so it didn't take much effort for the boy to activate kirigakure no jutsu. A mist descended on the abandoned land and Masaru could see his opponent getting up. It was time to act.
Masaru took his weapon off his back. The Kaku Hoko, a halberd imbued with his own chakra. He had spent over a month trying to perfect his use of it and he almost had. The shinobi had even found a fighting style for using it. He stood on the balls of his feet, back hunched, knees bent and the halberds' stabbing blade pointing at the floor. In this stance he could move with amazing reflexes. He readied himself and dashed at Yo. A syphon started to appear between Masaru and his weapon. The Kaku Hoko used small amounts of his chakra and so needed to draw more with every strike. With the knowledge that his weapon was working he drove his weapon into Yo; he made sure it hit no organs. After all he didn't want to kill his team-mate.
Masaru held Yo on the end of his weapon, the blood started to run down the blade that he was suspended on. Yo was helpless and Masaru was free to attack again. He lifted his opponent up into the air still impaled on the end of the Kaku Hoko. Then without warning the boy with brown hair slammed his halberd into the ice cutting into Yo even more and sending him through into the icy water below.

ugg... forgot about this one, see problem about judging battles is that... the posts never show up in the "New posts" Option so I can see what's up and what not, which I still don't get why they don't. Because of that I tend to forget about battles I'm judging and what not.
So.... >_> I'll grade this today.

Alright both of you need a lot of work on your posts. Techincally none of what Yo did should have even happened if Ita had rped attempting to avoid it. Hell a full counter round which SHOULD NOT EVER succeed against Yo's post would've succeeded. Why? Yo you rped better in the parts before the battle. Ita,you didn't even rp some of Yo's actions.
Yo posts next, followed by me.

OOC: I'll post soon, (I also slipped this from my mind..)
StatsJust wondering if my vitality shown should have the equips added as well, it would be 62 vit in total, in that case.

Followed from his first slash, Yo was surprised to be face to face with a wooden plank. But, that was not all. On it was a burning note. There would not be much time to escape. Diving backwards, all of the blast could not be avoided. But in the attempt, he had caught sight of Masaru. His opponent was rushing him, and appeared to be angry from the beating he had just received.
Walking backwards, Yo noted on the fog surrounding him. It was terribly thick, and he would have to do something about that. While pondering what to do, Masaru was inching closer and closer. Though he could not see him, the footsteps stomping through the snow were becoming closer and closer. Performing the necessary handseals, Yo initiated a Kirikagure no Jutsu of his own, to cancel out his opponent's small advantage. Using the protection of his new fog, Yo could now see his opponent perfectly. Jumping to the left, Yo dodged the attack from his enemy's weapon. He was headed for the ice.
At this point, Masaru was in total disarray. He had absolutely no clue what Yo had in store for him.Let's see how he handles this. Attempting to show that he was in control, Masaru swung his weapon one more time. Not even trying to dodge, Yo closed his eyes. Revenge for earlier.. Masaru struck perfectly, down on the ice. But his weapon was missing one thing, the body of Yo. Instead, connected to it was a small frozen log. Now off-balance from his swing, Yo was right behind him. Masaru was close enough to hear the chuckling in his ears.
Now with his opponent behind him, he would be the one off-guard. The reliable Shippou Kougi could be found in Yo's hand. Applying all of his force to the swing, he knocked his off-balance opponent down into the water. The ice already broken by Masaru's swing, it would not be hard for him to fall in. The deep blue abyss would find itself a friend today, even if it would become unwillingly.
Catching his breath, Yo could not help but seize the opportunity. Clapping his hands over his mouth, he shouted down into the water.
"How's it feel? Just a little cold?"
Walking away from the whole in the ice, Yo walked onto the grassed area. If there were any chance that Masaru would come back, there would be a little surprise for him. Flinging an object from his pocket, it was two small golden bells. The objects rang when tugged on, and if Masaru surfaced he would definitely hear the noise. Just one more hole for Masaru to get himself out of.
