Aburame Icaru - April 4, 2007 12:16 AM (GMT)
The Calm Before the Storm

Konohagakure: a village of peace and prosperity with intervals of powerful ninjas and incredible battles. Among these activities, there are smaller Shinobi battles that pertain to lower level Ninjas. Ninjas who take place during this battle are usually Genin who are just starting out. Those battles take place in the village of hidden leaves with very few spectators and there usually isn’t very much running on these type of battles. No one ever expects very much during these Genin brawls since the display of power and velocity during these battles were limited. It is important to understand that these battles are portrayed as practice for these Genin to become stronger, to ready themselves for more important battles like the Shinobi War or the Chuunin Exams. They take part in these brawls mostly because they have been told to by their Sensei to fight or want to better themselves during battles. To them, it’s an incredible achievement to win a battle such as this; it helps them gain confidence and can be used as a motivator to become stronger. Genin are never cocky about their winnings since they understand that this is only the beginning battles of their Shinobi lives.

Icaru understood this as he walked casually through the Konoha village and towards what was going to be used as the battlefields. It was a beautiful morning; spring warmth provided the perfect scenario for what was anticipated to be an incredible battle. With his hands in his pocket, the boy moved wordlessly as he reached the abandoned rice field, a most unique arena for the two participants. The rice field consisted of several patches of grass and dirt. Tools such as large wooden posts and broken shovel handles lied around ground. There are is also a small series of shacks lined around the field, encompassing both Shinobi in a rusted junk pile of rice. The ground is soggy on some spots, displaying mud piles that Icaru had quickly moved around while advancing towards the center of the rice field. The wind blew mildly towards the east, flowing through the Aburame’s hair and compact clothing.

Icaru hesitated slowly during his advance and decided to stop once he noticed an abandoned peace of metal. He knelt next to the adjacent rubble and pulled a small amount of Ninja String from his equipment pouch. The boy also brought fourth small bells from the pouch; these small pieces of metal were known as Genjutsu Bells, and enabled the Aburame have a slight advantage during this battle, if not for a split second. Though they resemble normal bells, this weapon possesses unique qualities. They’d give Icaru the advantage during battle sending off vibrations that throw their opponent off. These bells do this by emitting a special frequency that causes the inner ear of the target to vibrate, resulting in hallucinations. ‘Heh, let’s get this started.’ Icaru thought as he fidgeted his fingers in order to quietly tie the string to the bells and then to rusted metal. Icaru knew that every second of this battle would count and he could win this battle if he used each moment decisively and strategically. The challenge was identifying when the right time would be, and how to use that time as best he could.

Icaru stood back up, a sheltered smile strewn about his face. His opponent was now visible in the brush of rice, standing a few paces in front of him and seemingly ready for anything. Akadou Otenshi and Aburame Icaru were considered prodigies in the eyes of the Konoha Village. They were rivals with very promising attributes and abilities; this indicated that their display during battle would be very remarkable (Hopefully it would be). They had both partaken in important missions that helped the Konoha village in different ways. Both of them had learned a generous amount of new Jutsus. They were teammates, but they had not seen each other since their very first mission and they had changed in power since then. Icaru had considered the Akadou Shinobi a strong rival and knew that they would have to fight one another sooner or later. Butterflies moved about the Aburame’s stomach (or some other form of bug) in anticipation. No words would necessary as the battle began.

Absolute Thunder and Lightning!

The wind became furious thanks to his opponent’s elemental affinity, which rose Icaru’s sleeves to reveal his Aburame Risuto-Hasaki. This blade is the Aburame Clan’s specialty weapon and can be combined with certain Jutsus if used properly. Unfortunately, Icaru did not possess any Jutsus that worked with the weapon, but that did not diminish its fierceness. Starting at the top of the wrist blade is a large, shield like the surface that protects the user’s hand and most of their arm. The plate resembles that of a bug and possesses large, red, menacing eyes. The rest of the weapon is comprised of three bladed parts; two side curved blades and a devastatingly powerful blade in the middle. The blades resemble the pincers of a powerful beetle type summon. ‘Alright let’s dance.’ Now that weapon was visible, Icaru wasted no time in bolting forward to attack his opponent. The Shinobi smiled as he sliced the weapon towards his opponent’s chest, awaiting the sound of metal mixing with blood. He felt empowered with the weapon and new that it would be able to make its mark.

Wasting no time, the young Aburame turned his torso slightly and balanced on the balls of his feet. Icaru used this momentum to jump his in the air. “Fukumi Hari.” Icaru said simply after executing the specific hand signals that enabled such a Jutsu. Fukumi Hari allowed Icaru forth a needle into his mouth and then spit it towards his opponent with great accuracy. After readying the Jutsu, the boy reached into his equipment pouch before letting the Senbon fly from his mouth. The Aburame pulled out some more string, his movements blurred as he created a loop in the string. He spat towards his opponent with the loop in front of his mouth. The Senbon went through the loop and Icaru yank, letting the string wrap around the secondary weapon while is continued to fly. The strategy had been executed very subtly, so it did not hinder the needles momentum as it whistled through the air and towards Icaru’s opponent. He let go of the string once it had made contact with material, whether it had been his opponent or the ground.

Either way it didn’t matter, this part of the battle was the preliminaries for what Icaru planned to muster next. However, it seemed his opponent had also quickly taken to attacking. Icaru’s instincts kicked in; he hadn’t realized exactly what type of attack his opponent was executing, all he knew was that the move was offensive and told the Aburame to dodge whatever was coming at him. Icaru bounded backwards and flipped, performing a quick flip, missing the attack. The Aburame smirked easily under the shelter of his turtle neck as he realized that his senses were ready for this battle, whether Icaru was or not. He would be able to hold his own in this battle, regardless of how much stronger his opponent had become. He remembered how well Otenshi had done during their last mission, but neither Icaru, nor Otenshi were simple bandits and this battle would probably be mush harder then a C-Rank Mission.

Akadou Otenshi - April 4, 2007 03:02 AM (GMT)
The sky was of a splitting image for one view of the sky would lead one into believing the day was a normal peaceful day of brilliance. However, when one looked at the other half, it resembled the fear and strength of an incoming battle. There were two minds to the sky that day; it was almost as if it was a fight between the light and the dark. The simple beauty of the striking differences in the sky made Otenshi smile as he walked down the impending path. A while back after his first mission, Otenshi had been presented with a battle invitation against his first team mate, Aburame Icaru. It had been quite a while since these two had met and the day of battle was finally here. Otenshi began to exit the main part of Konoha and as he did he could begin to feel a difference in the wind moving about. It was expected of him to easily feel such movements in the winds speed as he was a fuuton user, and the extra wind today would be very helpful.

The battle was not to start till later in the day, but for Otenshi, he wanted to get their plenty early. It was not so much that he wanted to scout out the battle field, but more so he wanted to concentrate on the battle and that alone for the day. It was a test of skill and wits. Both Icaru and Otenshi were still young genin, therefore it would rely largely on their anticipation of incoming attacks and each other’s counter. For a second, Otenshi stopped to look back up at the sky ahead of him. It was still dark and cloudy as any storm before and this was promising. In Otenshi’s mind it was the perfect weather for a battle and it only meant excitement.

Before long Otenshi looked up and noticed he was at the designated field. There was no sign of the Aburame so Otenshi decided to take a look around. It was of course still early, and why would he have thought his opponent might be there early anyway. The field looked amazing, as the brushes of rice swayed barely in the wind. Lying around everywhere were posts and broken tools. An abandoned sight was one of comfort to Otenshi. He was glad the location was chosen as such. In the middle of the field there was nothing but a little bit of brush of rice and some dirt patches. “I will wait there for him,” Otenshi spoke to him self.

The young Akadou stood there waiting for his opponent to enter the battle field and for the battle to ensue. He did not stand there for long when he noticed a figure coming from beyond the field just a bit walking towards him. It could be no one else other than Icaru. He watched as the Aburame knelt down and tied something to a small piece of metal. When his opponent stood back up he noticed Otenshi standing there in the middle of the field next to a post. For a split second the two glared at each other in order to bring the battle to its true start. The wind picked up and the sleeve of the Aburame rose slightly to show a weapon of some kind attached to his wrist. It was an interesting piece, which Otenshi could care little of at the moment. As soon as the weapon was revealed, Icaru began to sprint towards Otenshi. It was odd that the genin would move in with such an action, as he knew Otenshi had the ability to drain his opponent’s chakra when they were in close range. The Aburame leapt into the air pulling his arm back to slash with the weapon. Otenshi stood there watching as the incoming attack approached. Icaru swung the arm forward for an attack and made contact with Otenshi, however, upon contact a puff of smoke appeared and the clone disappeared.

---Before Icaru’s Arrival---

As Otenshi stood there in the middle of the field, he began to devise a plan of how to prepare for this battle. He looked back on what he had available to him and remembered his training of the clones. He was able to perform the Bunshin no Jutsu up to five times creating five clones at his disposal. This would most definitely be beneficial and Otenshi began to look around for a brief moment. Surveying the land again he noticed broken posts both laying about the field and some still inserted into the ground. With this notion Otenshi decided to move forth with his plan. He formed the hand signals for the Bunshin no Jutsu and created one clone of himself. Quickly and just as swiftly he formed the signs for the Henge no Jutsu and transformed into a broken post next to the clone. Now all he had to do was wait for the battle to begin.

---Present---

The puff of smoke created a chance of surprise for Otenshi as he removed himself from his transformation. He noticed his speed was reduced dramatically; however this would not matter as he was already right next to his opponent. Within Otenshi’s hands was his Ninja Wire which he quickly wrapped around the Aburame and tangled him within it while the genin was still in his attack. Pulling the momentarily captured Aburame toward himself, Otenshi formed the hand seals for his Chakra Kyuuin no Jutsu (Chakra Absorption) technique. As the opponent had already put himself within close range and the wire bounded him, he had not worry of the Aburame escaping any time within the next split second. Otenshi quickly finished the seal and grabbed a hold of the enemy’s shoulder quickly drawing out a bit of chakra. The technique only lasts a second, but allowed Otenshi to regain some of his chakra that he had used earlier, and put a minor dampen on his opponents chakra as well.

The Aburame however, wasted no time in freeing himself from the binding of the wire and turned on the balls of his feet leaping into the air. Otenshi looked up and watched his opponent quickly form the seals shouting, “Fukumi Hari.” Otenshi’s eyes widened noticing a senbon appear within the Aburame’s mouth and shoot out in his direction, attached to the senbon was ninja wire which help control the accuracy even more. It was only for a brief moment though, as Otenshi quickly formed his own seal and shouted, “Kansei Fuuton.” It was a technique which only those who controlled the element of fuuton could use. By performing the technique Otenshi was able to control the wind around the vicinity of his opponent and take charge of the incoming projectile. With a simple jutsu, Otenshi managed to turn the tables once again on his opponent leaving him hopeless as the senbon quickly turned around at a high accuracy. The senbon flew directly back at Icaru to strike its new found prey.

Otenshi smiled as even with his reduced speed for the current time, he had planned ahead and was able to hopefully counter successfully against his opponent. He stood there watching after the senbon had been turned around on Icaru. When the counter attack had been completed, whether successful or not, was no longer of importance, it served its purpose and nothing more. Otenshi notice his opponent take a rather pointless backwards aerial flip in the air. Otenshi did not see the point of such an action as he had not been attacking, but perhaps the impact of the senbon had sent him off balance forcing him to regain balance by flipping backwards. Otenshi was glad to see the true battle was about to begin. He began to prepare himself for the Aburame’s next move.

Notes on Icaru’s Actions/Roleplaying:

Don't ever Dodge in advance again. As for your RPing, it was a decent post, you had a lot of synonyms in there that should have been the other word. Such as Fourth and Forth. And some spelling and grammar errors along with missing swords. Definately room for improvment, just proof-read your work before you post it. Otherwise, you did good.

Otenshi's Stats:

Ninjutsu: 85/85
Taijutsu: 25/25
Genjutsu: 10/10
Strength: 35/35
Speed: 36/53 (-17)

Outcome: Pending... This is going to count as a Counter. Icaru can dodge this.

Action 4: Countered senbon with Kansei Fuuton (Wind Control) and sent senbon back towards Icaru.
Outcome: Pending...

Notes on Otenshi’s Actions/Roleplaying:

You... kinda God-modded Icaru. Don't do that again. As for your RPing, you had some spelling errors and such, nothing a good proof-read wouldn't fix. And you tended to repeat yourself a lot, so try and work on that. Otherwise you did well in your use of jutsu and such.

Overall Notes:

Proof-read, proof-read, proof-read.

Aburame Icaru - April 18, 2007 03:05 AM (GMT)
It was nearly impossible to realize that nightfall was slowly moving over the horizon in the midst of brutal attacks and blurring motions. Amazingly enough, Icaru’s first tactic had barely hindered his opponent, making Icaru wonder how long this battle would take. The Aburame took into account how overly prepared his opponent was since it displayed how serious this battle could become. The puff of smoke surprised the young Aburame during his attack. ‘A Bunshin…How typical.’ Such a primitive Jutsu made it easy for the young Shinobi to recover. Surprisingly enough, Otenshi had been in a transformation, some piece of wood that Icaru had mistaken as another, simple addition to the arena. However, Otenshi’s speed had been reduced dramatically and would make his next few attacks easy to dodge, if not impossible to execute. However, these seemed to hinder the Akadou’s surefooted attack very little, for he had planned ahead and seemed ready for anything.

Icaru noticed Otenshi pulling something from his equipment pouch and pull out Ninja Wire. In seconds, the young Aburame reacted quickly as his opponent attempted to wrap the string around his body. Otenshi moved like a blur, the sudden outburst of speed surprised the Shinobi, but his eyes had adapted to the Chakra absorber’s movements from seeing him during battle so many times. Poof! In a small puff of smoke, Icaru was gone and Otenshi’s string wrapped around a large piece of rusted metal. The metal fell to the ground and planted itself into the cold dirt, falling harmlessly on its side. All was quite for some time, and Icaru quickly came to the realization that his opponent had just tried to absorb his Chakra. Icaru had never had his Chakra absorbed. Ever. He wondered what it could feel like, if it was the same feeling as having blood extracted through a needle or something along those lines.

‘Trying to absorb my Chakra will not be so easy Otenshi.’ It didn’t matter in the end; Icaru had never had his Chakra absorbed and he didn’t plan to learn of the feeling anytime soon. The young Shinobi appeared from behind, using his Senbon Jutsu. “Kansei Fuuton.” Otenshi was now able to control the wind around the vicinity of his opponent and take charge of the incoming projectile. With the simple Jutsu, Otenshi managed to turn the Senbon’s angle and velocity to fly towards Icaru. The senbon flew directly back at Icaru to strike its new found prey. ‘Yeah right.’ The Aburame laughed at the boy’s pitiful attempt to redirect Icaru’s own attack. ‘I thought he already saw my main weapon. [i]‘Idiot…Perhaps he didn’t see all that it is capable of.’ Icaru remembered that he did not have this specific main weapon when he met his rival. However, he should’ve known that the Aburame was no fool and would never let such a counter fly so easily. It should always takes a lot of effort to even touch your opponent; no one should ever get anything out of doing nothing and Icaru classified using an opponent’s own attack against them as being lazy. ‘What’s wrong? Don’t have your own attacks?’

As he and the Senbon moved towards each other, Icaru pulled his sleeve up to reveal the Risuto-Hasaki’s full length. Turns out that at the base of the main weapon was a large shield like obstruction that was used specifically used to block projectiles. ‘Heh, you’re not going to Absorb my Chakra. You’re not going to beat me with my own attacks. Are you going to do anything to me?’ The Senbon was swiftly moved towards Icaru’s face, and the Aburame casually brought the guard portion of his weapon up to block the counter. Cling. The Senbon collided with the shield; metal hitting stronger metal was the result, and the Senbon, now harmless, fell to the ground. Icaru was still in the air when he realized how dark it had become, and how quickly nightfall had some. He wanted to finish this battle before dinner if at all possible.

‘Oi, Otenshi.’ Icaru thought while landing on the ground. ‘You even thought ahead and still you’ve done little to hinder me. Save for my use of Chakra. It’s a good thing I’ve also planned ahead.’ The young Aburame thought of his soldier pills, knowing he would have to use them soon. ‘You have some pills as well, don’t you reaper?’ Icaru’s hands now flourished with a multitude of Kikai bugs as he brought his hands up. ‘I’ll have to make you use them before I use mine. Imagine, a Chakra absorber using Chakra pills. How quant.’ With a sheltered smirk strewn about the young Abrumae’s face, Icaru only watched as the Kikaichuu no Jutsu was underway. He wordlessly allowed the small bugs to fly towards Icaru’s opponent, knowing that Otenshi would soon be the producer of a Chakra meal.

Kikai voices rang throughout Icaru’s ears: Chakra! Chakra! Absorb! Eat! Their happiness and lust for energy made the youth smile. These creatures flew at less then seven centimeters wide and contained a wingspan of about four centimeters. Such an insect displayed greed and brown lines across its check and neck line; this was a disguise that was set off when an enemy was near by. The Kikai bugs were the main form of weaponry for the Aburame and generally exploded when making contact with an opponent. However, these specific Kikai were going to be used as absorbers and would not explode anytime soon, but instead would absorb the Chakra of the opponent. ‘Imagine, an Akadou having their Charka absorbed.’ Icaru wondered if bugs absorbing Chakra was the same thing as an Akadou absorbing Chakra. Kikaichuu no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu utilized by the Aburame clan. After being born, the clan member serves as the host nest for the Kikai bugs. In return for feeding on the Chakra the hosts' body provides, the insects will do the bidding of the clan member.

As a follow up to the Kikai’s absorption, the young Shinobi casually ran up to his opponent with an average speed. Guessing that his opponent would be occupied with the Kikaichuu no Jutsu, Icaru was able to duck low in order to slice his Risuto-Hasaki once more towards opponent’s right leg. ‘You’re good Otenshi. I’ve always known you were. But I am no thief that are easily defeated in a mission.’ Icaru thought while bringing his weapon of choice forward. ‘I am a loyal Shinobi of Konohakagure. And I will not go down!’ He awaited his weapon to taste blood from his opponent’s leg. ‘Let’s keep going. if this attack doesn’t chop off your leg.’

Seeing as how Icaru is no longer playing here, Otenshi gets the default win. I'll let Jeral/Kuishen sum up the LP rewards.

Janos - May 29, 2007 09:12 PM (GMT)
Uhm, neither is Otenshi. I figure just give the rewards to their current characters?

Akadou Otenshi - May 29, 2007 09:26 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I was about to say. My character Otenshi does not exist anymore. So either to current character or none at all is fine with me.

Shinamari Kuishen - May 30, 2007 06:18 AM (GMT)
I'll be going to bed but I'll try and get this in now.

Didn't see it before.

EDIT: (Apparently I didn't have to do much reading since I already read his one post XD)

Rewards:

Otenshi: A good solid 20 LP.

Little mistakes here and there but nothing too major, just give your work a quick proofread before you post it. ^^

Icaru: Sakoya, PM me if you want rewards for this. I don't know your character situation. ^^
