It was an average day in the village of Konoha, the birds are chirping, pedestrians walk the streets, shinobi carrying out various tasks, and Kito yelled at Hisoka to get his ass off the couch and help out around the house.

“Why do I have to do work around the house? I mean isn’t it enough that I risk my life for our village everyday?” Whined the abrasive Hyuuga chuunin as he opened a can of soda and took a drink. “No it’s not enough! I work my ass off cleaning up your messes, doing your laundry, cooking your food, and on top of that taking care of myself and finding me time!”

Scolded Kito as she smacked the soda out of Hisoka’s hands, Hisoka just laughed as the pop fizzed up on the ground. Hisoka just tuned out the yelling and grabbed his cassette player, he popped in his mix tape and just listened to that. Hmm, I should pay my family a visit today. Perhaps even my friend Nakumaru.

Thought Hisoka as he drifted deeper into his own thoughts, Hisoka snapped back into reality once he seen that Kito had stormed off into the other room which allowed for the cunning Hyuuga to subtly sneak out of the house. He began head to his parents’ house to brag about being a chuunin, which he had yet to do.

He arrived at the house of his parents and walked in, his mother was very pleased to see him. His father as well and his little brothers Shiro and Nori, they graciously welcomed Hisoka into their home. “Hisoka! It has been far too long since we last seen each other! I am impressed with your progression as a ninja.”

Said Hisoka’s father as he pulled out a chair for the Hyuuga chuunin, they all sat at the table for lunch. He was somewhat shocked at the kind gesture of his father but shrugged it off. “So do you have plans for Shiro to enter the academy this year? He is eight years old and is suited to join, or do you have plans for him to go through a normal education?”

Hisoka asked his father as he picked at the meal that was placed in front of him, Hisoka looked over at his mother who seemed to feel uncomfortable at the idea of yet another one of her sons going off to become a ninja and fight in the war. “I’d like him to become a ninja and fight for our village, but then again it is up to him. I’m not going to force anything on him; I’m not going to make that mistake again.”

Hisoka’s father said as he took a bite of his sandwich, Hisoka got up and went into his old room. It was like a time capsule, everything from his youth still perfectly preserved. Hisoka’s mother walked into the room and said “You don’t mind if Shiro takes your old room do you? I would give him Ken’ichi’s old room but it’s sealed off, and I mean you don’t use yours so can I?”

“No problem at all, just let me gather all my old things.” Said Hisoka as he started to gather up all of his old things, it was quite nostalgic for the Hyuuga chuunin. Hisoka didn’t mind in this case though, he missed out on allot of his youth. So even this fragment made him feel good inside, Hisoka reminisced for awhile but was interrupted by Shiro.

“Hisoka! Can I really be a ninja just like you and dad? That would just be so cool! Fighting in the war, going on missions, traveling the world! Ah man! I really want to be a ninja but I don’t know if I can or if I’m strong enough.” Hisoka just smiled and said “You can do anything that you put your mind too. If you do decide to become a ninja, always fight for truth, justice and honor. Never fight in anger or for revenge, a path to the dark side that is.”

“Hey! You stole that line from that one show!” Shouted the aspiring young ninja with a laugh, Hisoka just laughed and nodded his head. Moments later Hisoka finished up gathering all of his old possessions with the exception of a few things and packed them all up. Hisoka headed out of his old room and into the living room.

When he set his bag down he was called into his parents room by his father, he walked in and the lights where off with they exception of a wax candle. The door shut behind him and his father began to speak. “So Hisoka, did you hear what happened?”

Asked Kisho in a disturbed tone, Hisoka thought about what he may have been talking about. When he couldn’t figure it out he said “No I didn’t what happened?”

“A chuunin by the name if Ten defected from the village recently and I was asked to bring the chuunin back but I have other responsibilities that do not allow me to go, so I am asking you as your father and superior to go and stop Ten. I don’t want to make it an order, so please I ask you to do this for me.”

Replied Kisho, Hisoka thought about it for a moment and agreed to what he said. Kisho briefed Hisoka more on Ten, the last seen location, jutsu, and clan. Anything he could tell him, Hisoka nodded and headed back to his house to gear up. He got everything he could muster, ranging from nunchaku, kunai and armor to plastic cups, duct tape and drinking straws.

He then told his beloved fiancé of his assignment and good bye and headed out to the location outside of Konoha. He left Konoha and headed east to the area where Ten was supposedly at, hours passed before he got close to the area where the missing-nin was at. He saw that it was a mostly open area, with a lake and some boulders.

Not the most secluded area in the world but it’s not by any villages, he wanted to take care of it quickly and be subtle about it. He seen the boy and observed his behaviors and actions, he seemed almost schizophrenic. He now took the opportunity to strike. He preformed several hand seals and said “Kirigakure no Jutsu, Fubuki no Jutsu, Chakra Reibo no Jutsu!”

A thick mist rolled in and turned into a flurry of snow, rolled out onto the plain. Lucky for me I learnt Chakra Reibo or the snow that I just made would melt eventually. Not now though, now it can withstand temperatures up to one hundred degrees. This average summer day wont effect it now.

Hisoka thought to himself as he reached into his bag and pulled out his nunchaku and grasped it tightly, for it wouldn’t take long for Ten to find him.

{Hah. x3 Village doesn't know jack about Ten. But for this battle, sure. =P}

It was just another casual day for Ten. Without the stress of the village binding him, he could relax whenever he wanted. Of course if he wanted something he had to earn it. Food was easiest to come by, however. If he didn't have the money, he had no problem with stealing from those who had over abundances.

He was taking a break in a small field just outside of Konoha today. He was planning on visiting his old village. Maybe he'd cause up a bit of trouble or something. Of course, he wouldn't get the chance to do so. Somehow the leaf seemed to have caught onto him. Or perhaps one of them was simply visiting the field for training.

The first thing Ten noticed about the shinobi in the distance was the hand seals. He couldn't say for certain which they were, but it didn't truly matter. The storm cloud that appeared out of nowhere definitely interested Ten. He guessed the shinobi wanted to fight. Well Ten could play that game as well.

His own hand seals were struck and his own clouds were created. The deep smoke built up within him as he twitched oddly. His mouth opened and the darkness swept from his lungs. Just as the rain would fall, his smoke would hover through the air, seeping across the plain. Ten almost had to rejoice in the odd scene that had commenced. The rain felt good in the darkness.

"Burakkugan," he whispered to no one in particular. The darkness crept over his eyes, spreading from his pupils. They became just as dark as the smoke that continued to filter from his body. Suddenly he would be met with a wonderful sight. The drops of water rained in a brilliant shade of red. It reminded Ten of blood...that which he was about to spill.

His enemy was a pillar of white and grey. He was shuffling with his bag, which Ten couldn't say he really appreciated. He snorted lightly, spilling yet more smoke as he did. His hands once more formed a number of seals and his chakra flowed. The wind within the smoke rustled slightly and began to work around his feet. He felt as if a weight had been lifted from his body.

A small smile drifted over his face as once more his hands moved. He began to mumble quietly, his voice slowly rising in volume. It seemed to be incoherent, even when his voice washed over from his spot to his opponent. The chakra in his body would flow through him to his voice. It rode on his words, working its way into his opponent's mind and filling him with doubt.

His hands began to glow in a dark black color. Even so it was still nullified by the smoke. The chakra spread out from his hands and linked to the package on his back. The dark strings were signature to his clan. They hadn't been seen in many years, nor were they likely to be seen again. Not if Ten had anything to say about it. He worked well in the darkness, where the mysteries of his techniques could not be seen.

As a last thought Ten snickered and made his finger twitch. A single kunai flew from the package on his back and flew through the smoke to his opponent. He waited to see just how well the shinobi could do in total darkness. Ten was completely at home, but his opponent...he wasn't so sure.

You'd better hope it was worth all the trouble.

“Hey! You know smoking isn’t good for you?” Hisoka cleverly said as he ran from the smoke that seemed to ooze from Tenyua’s lungs. He couldn’t keep running forever and the smoke seemed to keep coming. The boy would have to stop eventually but Hisoka didn’t know how long eventually would be. Oh god, it’s gaining! I can’t get caught in that smoke!

Damn it! I can’t keep running! I’m going to hit that small lake if I do! Wait a minute! That’s it! The lake! He ran up to the edge of the lake and jumped into the air and took a diving pose and he took a large breath of air. God I hope this isn’t shallow water!

Was the only thought going through his mind as he dove into the lake, the lake was roughly fifteen foot deep. Hisoka had lucked out when he took the dive, but luck was cruel. In the dive he lost his nunchaku, the water was too dark to see in with his normal eyes. He quickly activated his Byakugan; he could see it at the bottom of the sea bed.

He swam down; he really wanted to take a breath at this point. He swam down further, the Hyuuga’s ears ‘popped’ from the pressure. The unexpected pain caused Hisoka to let out some of his oh so precious air. He was now even more out of breath, he began to doubt if he could make it to the bottom.

Out of luck he managed to grab them and put them back in his equipment pouch, he rushed back up to the surface and out of pure luck and breathed heavily for a few moments. The smoke had stopped just as the water began. Hisoka turned his back to his opponent as he swam to the other side of the small lake, normally this would be a perfect time for the opponent to strike.

But the power of the Byakugan allowed the clever Hyuuga to see all three hundred and sixty degrees around him for a span of one hundred meters it seemed. So luck has graced the Hyuuga once more as he made it to the other side of the lake. He then put his chakra training to good use and walked out onto the lake.

Outside of the blackened field of smoke, ice and snow he attempted to devise a strategy. He had a feeling his efforts would be in vain but he tried to think positive for the time being, not knowing when the boys’ next attack would be.

He could see a blur of chakra in the smoke, so he at least knew where the boy was. As he was looking at the boy in the smoke, a kunai shot out at him. Hisoka dodged it with ease by cutting off the chakra to his feet making him fall into the lake. He got back out of the lake and headed up on shore again, he decided not to go back on the water.

Hisoka thought for a moment, he had a feeling his attacks would be inaccurate going into the field of smoke. None the less Hisoka had to try and attack the boy inside the thick plume of smoke, ice and snow. Taijutsu was out of the question, unless he came out. Hisoka didn’t know any genjutsu so that was out, but as luck would have it Hisoka did have ninjutsu.

He also had projectiles; Hisoka decided that it would be best if he used them instead of ninjutsu. So the clever Hyuuga tied ninja wire to three of his kunai and threw two of them into the smoke. He guided the kunai with the wires using his chakra, not knowing if they worked and blinded the boy he stood there. Soaked in water, he went into Mu and stood there waiting.

Still not much happening with this, but I guess it should get interesting sooner or later. Also Ten stop editing my post with the penis tag or I'm going to fry you personally. You don't want to mess with Jyin right about now especially after the anguish he is going through with his fiancee disappearing on him so abruptly.

{Sorry Jyin. x3 It was a one time thing. I had to do it.}

"Useless, useless, useless..." Ten began to chant the single word as he walked along in the cloud of smoke. His opponent was retreating already, but that wasn't good enough for him. This battle was going to happen whether the other like it or not. There was no escaping from what had been initiated.

He watched as the other disappeared from sight, going below the ground. The light gray that constantly shifted could only have been water. So his opponent was using it to get away from the smoke...well that wouldn't last for too long. He began to chuckle, smoke still emenating from his nose and mouth. Water may have stopped the smoke from going into it...but not over it.

"Useless...useless...useless..." His hands reached into the small pouch on his side. A pair of bells were brought forth and held up before his face. They were given a small jingle, the noise going forth towards the lake. The opponent was likely to hear the noise, even though he was down. The high pitched noise would only be carried by the water, rather than drowned.

"Useless...useless...you are useless....Useless...useless...you are useless..." The chant would eventually reach Hisoka as he surfaced. Along with it would wait something else to disturb him. Ten's hands moved in time with his chant, forming the seals necessary. Chakra flowed through Ten's voice, carried on with the chant. Hisoka would find himself soon being shaken by a horrific vision...something...evil.

"Useless...useless....use...less..." Finally his chant would come to an end. There was no reason to give his position away any longer. He could not be seen in the darkness, and he knew this. It was his technique, meant to confuse those who used their eyes. All except his own clan, to be certain.

Those dark tendrils of pure energy wrapped from ten's fingers to his back. He watched the smokey lines drawn from his opponent that came to him. Then at the last second, when it seemed he would be hit, he calmly slid out of the way, firing a shot back. Again, he would slip out of the way and shoot another kunai in response to Hisoka's attacks.

Now it was his turn to begin a barrage of strikes. His fingers twitched and the bandages around his puppet fell away. A small dance was its entry, bringing it before its master. It twitched oddly as Ten's fingers slowly moved in a delicate pattern. There was no warning of the attack that was coming. Natoro's stomach opened, and out shot a bunch of cables, aimed directly at the surfaced Hisoka.

This would be a simple sort of invitation. Ten wanted everyone to be allowed into the smoke. It was such a wonderful place after all. Everyone should experience it first hand and see what it's like. Well....perhaps not 'see' what it's like.

Let's get the real action going because this seriously is a slow paced match here. You also both better watch yourselves because both of your dodges are running low so trouble is bound to be on the horizon.

“Everything is a science you know? Even your smoke, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out how it works either. Your chakra is creating smoke in your lungs, sure you concentrate it. But there is more to it than just that; chakra is the combination of spiritual and physical energy. So that gives the combustion a source of energy, the chakra combusts in your lungs and smoke is produced.

I know what you’re thinking too. ‘But Hisoka this isn’t chemistry, chakra doesn’t apply to those rules!’ You’re oh so wrong; science has an explanation for everything and an answer for everything. All you have to do is focus your chakra and you think that’s the end of it. But how does focusing chakra make smoke?

The focused chakra would create pressure, and since chakra is energy not so different from the electricity that powers a common stove it will combust once it creates enough heat for ignition. Creating a fire and that would create smoke. Since it is a special fire with its fuel being chakra the smoke if significantly different, they are still nothing but basic matter and elements in my eyes; liquids, solids, and gasses.

And my jutsu can take out the liquids and solids, leaving nothing but gasses. Oh and gasses expand, not only that but without the liquids and solids they have no color. You won’t even be able to see it any longer. It will be as simple as an imbalance of matter. All I have to do is use the hidden mist jutsu to get the solids wet and then freeze them.

The liquids found naturally in your smoke will freeze and fall to earth; the solids will be coated with water and be to heavy to stay afloat in mid air and the gasses will expand. And since they will have no color left in them, you won’t even be able to hide behind your little smoke screen. And by the way, none of the following attacks that I mentioned have anything to do with offense.

So there is no way to avoid them, unless you deactivate your own jutsu. And regardless of how good I am with my ninjutsu they will still work, they are quite simple really. Creating mist by condensing the water vapor found naturally in the air, change the way chakra is churned in the body to create a much cooler chakra that will freeze over liquids, and then the snow and ice will be brought down to earth by its own mass and the force of gravity.

Leaving nothing but the gasses in the air, and like I said gasses expand. And the snow and ice, which will be blackened by the liquids and solids, will melt and the water will evaporate into the atmosphere leaving nothing but soot. This will be broken down into nitrogen and other chemicals that plants use for nutrients. And then the same evaporated water will be condensed in the clouds and come down as rainfall. Giving even more back to the environment, all of this is fifth grade science.

Hisoka watched as the shroud of blackness disappeared and the blackened snow fell to the ground. Since Hisoka didn’t use his Chakra Reibo the snow immediately began to melt under the heat of the warm summer’s day. Hisoka enjoyed seeing the look of foolishness on the face of the boy. Knowing that his jutsu was defeated by such a simple combo attack, his look of foolishness soon turned to anger. Hisoka knew he was about to attack, so the cunning Hyuuga chuunin readied himself for the attack.

What is this place? Hisoka thought as a large stone gate appeared before him, it seemed to be suspended in an abyss of nothing. The gate had two stone doors, they opened and Hisoka walked through them. The doors shut behind him and the gate seemed to disappear into nothingness, he was in a hall with a roof woven from the spines of serpents.

Poison dripped down onto those who wade in the rivers of blood below. The people who dwell in the halls are given nothing but goat's urine to quench their thirst. The hall is surrounded by a river, which is freezing cold and has knives flowing in it. It seemed the only way across the river is over a bridge guarded by a giantess.

There was something wrong though, it was not his time to die yet. And he was clearly trapped in the realm of Hel, which only those who have died of certain causes dwell. Hisoka then realized he was in a Genjutsu. Science will prevail once more, foolish Tenyua. Genjutsu is nothing more then altering the way chakra flows through the brain, altering ones vision and perspective of reality. It’s as simple as cutting off chakra to the brain.

Hisoka thought as he cut off chakra to his mind, the illusion fell apart and there stood Tenyua. It seemed as if the boy had a puppet of sorts, and that wasn’t all. Cables shot out of it toward Hisoka, he quickly used several hand seals and slammed his palm into the ground. A wall of blackened ice arose and took the hit, the cables retracted and the wall crumbled.

Hisoka didn’t have that many options, all he could do was get another attack in and hope it hit. So Hisoka formed several hand seals and said silently “Hyouton - Tsubame Fubuki.”

Now this battle is starting to hold my interest so let's keep it moving.

Ten was relying on his smoke...to choke...a broken spoke. It was failing to inflict pain...the rain...what was there to gain? His chakra was draining, and he was feeling the wear...the tear...he was not likely to fare.

The rhyming words in his head made him laugh with glee. It was sickening to think that he was going to flee. It seemed like a bleak chance for him to continue the fight. If he went on, he would be dead by night. He wished in the next day he would see the light.

So it was that his puppet returned to his back. Smoke would continue, and his eyes would stay black. He wondered if it was possible that he could retreat. It seemed much more likely the end he would meet. Yet with great haste, he turned on his feet.

"It's been fun," he would say to the foe that he faced. And with that he would disappear, for it was time he raced. His chakra was flowing in every which way. It constantly drained his life force away. Because of this he had chosen not to stay.

"We'll continue this later," he'd whisper to himself. For now his pride would be hung on the shelf. He sped off towards the horizon unknown. His eyes would brighten and the way would be shown. He knew that skills were in need of a hone.

He'd reflect on his loss and think over it much. It seemed to him he was losing his touch. But one day he'd challenge the white-eyed one again. Perhaps it would end much different then. It would truly be known as a battle amongst men.

Mistakes were made, from which they both could learn. For another fight they could easily yearn. For now they'd take what's on the mind. Searching for secrets, something they may find. Both could find their own answers in kind.

One might think that running is bad. The very idea makes some people mad. But in this case it's the smart thing to do. Not only one could learn, but two. Later on another battle is what may ensue.

And so it was that rivals were made. Our view of the battlefield would fade. Thoughts will echo as all goes back. What could have changed if we could rewind it all back? We won't ever know, for the ability to rewind time we do lack.

This could have turned out to be a decent battle if it continued on but, due to Tenyua's strategic withdrawal, it was not to be. So Hisoka gets the win only due to his opponent's decision to withdraw.
