Title: Kayori vs Kisei
Description: Judge: Jyin
Uchiha Kayori - August 19, 2007 05:12 AM (GMT)
Prologue
-----------
The little boat slowly drifted closer and closer towards the desert island as it ripped through the mist. A cold fog enveloped the boat, giving out only as much as a silhouette of the shape of the boat. For the rower, the fog forced him to go slowly, since he couldn’t see more than 3 feet in front of him. The sea water was calm and there were only little waves that broke as it made contact with the side of the boat.
Another figure stood on the boat, his face gazing out towards the sea. There was a thin and long wrapped package in his hands that he held upright with the tip touching the boat’s floor. Another larger package, wrapped in white bandages was strapped to his back. The second package was obviously larger than the one the figure held in his hands. It was the length of the sampan, and half of the boat’s width.
The figure, on the other hand, was dressed in a white chest plate, his arms equipped with gauntlets. The rest of his body was partially covered by the fog, making it hard for anyone to make out. The boat began to slow down, and when it bumped lightly against something, the figure stepped out of the boat, and his boots made the sand crunch as he stepped down. Looking back at the rower of the boat, the figure bade for him to return to where he had come from.
-----
Kayori walked along the desert island, his eyes taking in every single thing that lay before him; the number and location of the palm trees, the size of the island, the density of the sand all over the island, and some random rocks that the waves crashed onto. Walking all around the island in half an hour, Kayori had estimated that the island was no bigger than the arena where the third stage of the Chuunin exams was held.
He walked back to the two packages that he had stuck on the ground. The first package paled in comparison to the size of the second package which was huge. Kayori smiled a little as he looked at the two items, standing upright in the sand. Pulling out a scroll from his scroll pouch on his left leg, Kayori unrolled the scroll open. The scroll was empty, save for a few sentences written in Kanji.
There was an empty spot in between the words and after looking at it, Kayori laid it on the ground beside him. Unwrapping the package with ease, the package was revealed to be a katana. Placing it beside the scroll, Kayori formed a string of seals with his two hands and muttered something under his breath. Upon completion, the sword began to fade and with a puff of smoke disappeared. In the scroll, where there was the empty spot was the katana.
Kayori had sealed it into the weapons scroll, so that he wouldn’t have to run around with two weapons on him. Rolling it up, Kayori inserted the weapons scroll carefully into where he had withdrawn it from. His attention was then diverted to the huge package still standing in the sand. Wrenching it up from the sand, Kayori tore off the bandages without consideration, revealing with each piece of bandage torn of, silver steel.
Soon the blade was free of the bandage and in Kayori’s hands were a silver zanbatou. The hilt was about two feet long, more than enough for Kayori to hold it with both hands. The length of the blade from the base of the blade to the tip was about 6 feet and a half. It was a silver color, and Kayori tried it out by swinging left and right. The weight suited his strength perfectly, and the Uchiha attempted a series of sword moves, getting used to the blade. His moves were flawless, the blade of the zanbatou slashing through the sand like hot knife through butter.
Ending his exercise with a huge leaping swipe with the zanbatou, Kayori landed on the sand, his face covered with beads of sweat. His eyes gazed towards the beach, locking onto something. He had someone approaching and he was correct. The battleground had been set and both warriors had arrived.
Kayori looked into the cold eyes of the Yukina, his opponent.
Battle start
-------------
Kayori looked into his opponent’s eyes as his grip on his zanbatou tightened. The Uchiha had just been back from a three-month long excursion and it had been a while since he had actually met Kisei. He now had no idea of how strong the Yukina was; except that he had heard Kisei was quite talented in the art of fighting. Wiping off the sweat on his forehead with the back of his left hand, Kayori took a deep breath.
The battle was beginning as the wind blew and the fog began to disperse. Both opponents stood still, sizing each other up. Not a word was exchanged between the two of them, only glares and stares. The two of them were waiting for something and it came in the form of a falling feather. A seagull had flown above them and a feather had slowly fluttered down. Kayori’s grip on his zanbatou’s hilt tightened as the feather dropped ever so slowly to the sands.
The moment it hit the sand, the Uchiha sped across the dunes, sand kicked up behind him as he prepared to launch his assault on the Yukina. Before he reached Kisei, Kayori leapt up into the air, his zanbatou trailing below him. When he had reached the peak of his jump, he adjusted his sword, holding it high above his head with both his hands.
Blotted out by the sun, Kayori crashed down on Kisei with his zanbatou in the form of a vertical drop slash. The sand was parted and splashed to either sides of the sword as it made contact with the ground. Amidst the confusion, Kayori’s left hand instinctively reached into his equipment pouch and pulled out a sharp kunai, throwing it at Kisei hoping that the sand would conceal his move.
Immediately withdrawing after his initial assault, Kayori leapt back to maintain a distance between Kisei and him. Keeping a close lookout on the battlefield and more importantly on his opponent, Kayori’s mind raced as fast as a race horse, trying to come up with a few moves that would allow him to unleash some devastating damage on his opponent. No doubt his skills were honed a little when he had been on the three-month long hunt for missing-nins, but this was different.
He was fighting one of the strongest of the Yukina clan, a clan that had quite an amount of dominance in Konoha. One wrong move and he could have his head handed on a silver platter to him. Shaking his head, Kayori focused on his opponent again and gripped his zanbatou tighter than ever. Taking another gamble, Kayori again went for the first strike, zigzagging across the sand, in order to throw off the Yukina.
Using his superior speed and sword skills to his advantage, Kayori turned his sword in his hands, forming a spinning blade like a fan turned on as he ran towards the Yukina. Stopping the sword in mid-spin with as much ease as he could, Kayori made a wild thrust attack at Kisei with the huge tip of his zanbatou, followed by another throw with his kunai straight into the Yukina’s chest…

Yukina Kisei - August 19, 2007 10:21 AM (GMT)
Prologue
--------------------------------------------
Kisei looked at the out over the sea, it was calm. Calm as before a storm, however the storm that was approaching this area wasn’t that of wind and rain, no it was the storm that occurred when two high level shinobis gave it everything they had to improve themselves. The sailor steering the small boat could without doubt feel the tense vibrations in the air around Kisei, he was looking forward to this battle. This would be the second time he faced an Uchiha, but the first time it was in an arranged battle.
Letting his hand glide down the sheath of his katana, it looked more or less like he was caressing it, as if it was a woman. But the fact was that the Yukina was trying to calm himself before the battle, from what he had heard his opponent should be quite a powerful shinobi, and that alone made Kisei wanting to fight him.
Through the thick mist Kisei could just faintly see the outline of what was to become the battlefield. From what he had been told by the sailor, it was a small deserted island, or well one couldn’t really call it an island, it was more like a pile of sand with a few trees and rocks on it. As the boat scratched against the shore Kisei jumped out of the boat, landing with his feet in the water.
---
Kisei reached down in the boat and took up his cloak and facemask, before starting to walk the last bit towards the dry sand. As the Yukina set his feet upon the sandy coast, he took a better look around. From the looks of things the place was about the same size as the chuunin exam fighting arena. No wonder they say that this place is hardly worth calling an island, Kisei thought to himself as he continued to looked around, making sure to remember the locations of the rocks and palm trees.
A short while after his eyes fell on another person; there was no doubt that this person was his opponent. And in the unlikely case that it wasn’t, well too bad… Quietly Kisei took on his facemask and put on the cloak, hiding his weapons underneath it.
------Battle Starts------
With silent steps Kisei started to move towards the Uchiha, it was a small test of the Uchiha’s skills, if he wasn’t able to detect him, the battle would already be won. A small smile appeared underneath the Yukina’s mask as the Uchiha turned towards him, he had been noticed and now the battle was about to begin. Kisei could already feel how the air around the two of them started to get heavy, they were attacking each other with their intent to fight, it was natural for them, after all both of them were jounin class shinobis.
The two of them stood still, looking at each other, trying to read what the other would do. As a small feather fell down between the two shinobis, the Uchiha made his first move. Kisei followed Kayori with his eyes as he prepared himself for what was to come. Zanbatou, a massive sword that can deal a lot of damage, if I remember correctly it was created to cut down horsemen as well as their horses… It’s a heavy blade, which means that it requires a lot of strength to wield, also because of its size it isn’t nearly a flexible as a katana… His movement are limited with a sword like that… Kisei thought to himself as he observed.
Kayori leaped into the air, the zanbatou was lifted above his head to give the slash maximum destructive power, however the line of the attack wasn’t really hard to figure out, as the blade came cleaving through the air Kisei jumped to the side. Because of the power behind the attack changing its general direction would be close to impossible, especially if one wanted to keep destructive powers intact.
The zanbatou blew sand up into the air as it hit the ground, through the dust sky Kisei could see something moving, however he wasn’t fast enough to guard himself totally. The kunai cut through his hand as he tried to use the metal arm guard to cover himself. He could feel the metal slice through his skin and flesh, though the pain wasn’t really something worth mentioning.
Kisei started to leap around Kayori, while he in all secret underneath his cloak coated two senbons in poisons. He knew that even though the instant damage of the poisons wasn’t that great, the effect could prove itself useful in the long run, especially if Kayori didn’t have any antidotes to nullify it.
Before the dust cloud caused by Kayori’s vertical strike had a chance of clearing, Kisei leaped through it. His hand was resting on the hilt of his katana and as soon as he was within range of Kayori. Kisei drew the katana, his made sure to make his movements short and precise, aiming to make a horizontal slash across Kayori’s torso. The best thing about the katana is that I can use it with only a single hand… Kisei thought to himself as he with his free hand tied some ninja wire to the two poisoned senbons.
As Kisei was about to pull back he lunched the two senbons towards Kayori’s chest area, hoping that he could bring the poison closer to Kayori’s vital organs, and perhaps, just perhaps the senbons would damage Kayori’s muscles, reducing some of his speed, giving Kisei a better chance to keep up with him. As soon as the senbons had left the needle launched Kisei directed them with the help of the ninja wire towards their target. As soon as he was sure that the senbons had connected, he jumped backwards trying to put some distance between the two of them.

Good opening strategy, let's just hope your opponent doesn't make you regret it later. Your opponent is a very crafty individual. You each get 6 actions for the remainder of this match so step it up in your next post because you manage to put a decent amount of hurt on your opponent this time.

Notes on Kisei’s Actions/Roleplaying:
Nice counter strategy you setup there, but you left yourself kind of open since you didn't do anything about those last two attacks so he was able to take advantage of the situation and get a head's up on you for the time being. Yet if your tactics work he might find himself in a serious bind!
Overall Notes:
Nice way to get things started you two, I'm looking forward to how events will turn out in this match.
Uchiha Kayori - August 21, 2007 02:11 AM (GMT)
The dust cloud wasn’t even gave the time to settle, and the battle was already raging on like no one could care. Kayori had taken a few steps back to avoid fighting in the dust cloud after he had thrown the kunai and it was here where he made his mistake. Kisei had taken only a fraction of damage from the kunai and the Anbu was dashing in on Kayori with every bit of liquid smoothness.
The moment Kayori was within range of the Yukina’s katana’s range, Kisei swept out his katana in a swift motion, attempting for a strike at Kayori. Like how all sword attacks were, Kayori managed to keep his eyes locked on the motion and direction of the strike. There was no way for Kayori to block this blow with his massive zanbatou, not unless he was three times as fast as Kisei. Which he wasn’t.
Releasing his grip on the hilt of the zanbatou and dropping it, the Uchiha almost instinctively drew out two kunai, one in each hand. Hoping and for once, praying for it was worth, Kayori attempted to block the katana blow with the kunai in his right hand. Sparks flew and Kayori’s right hand trembled as he blocked the blow. Almost instantly Kisei lurched backwards, Kayori caught two glittering objects flying straight at him.
Eyes wide open; Kayori recognized them for what they were and without hesitation, swipe the air twice with both kunai. There was a faint clink of metal against metal and the two senbons were hit off target, one of it dropping into the sand while the other one veered off to the left, away from Kayori.
Looking straight at his opponent in the eyes, Kayori saw a pair of steely and cold eyes returning the gaze. Inserting back both kunai where they belonged, Kayori kicked up his zanbatou by the hilt and grabbed it. He swung it in his hands and dashed at Kisei, the swinging sword in his hands gaining speed and momentum. Kayori zigzagged, throwing off all recognitions of his fighting pattern, and when he was before the Yukina, he stopped the spinning blade with all he had and thrust it straight at Kisei.
The sword tip managed to penetrate the chest armor and even injure the Yukina, but before Kayori could completely jam the whole thing into him, Kisei pressed both his palms on the blade and pushed it out before leaping off further away from Kayori. A kunai was send flying at Kisei directly after the thrust with the zanbatou had been launched, with the kunai hitting Kisei in the chest, right beside the thrust wound.
I guess it’s time I use speed instead of my strength… With Kisei still looking at him, Kayori pulled out the weapons scroll. Unrolling it, Kayori muttered something and formed a string of seals, sending a cloud of smoke in the air and where the smoke had been, there was a black sheathed katana. The Uchiha snatched it out of the air with as much as speed as a striking snake.
With his new weapon summoned, Kayori sealed back the zanbatou into the weapons scroll, since it would be a pain to be lugging it all the time and leaving it out in the open might cause him more harm than good. The procedure was quickly done and Kayori stood before the Yukina calmly as he tied the sheath of the sword to his waist.
Now, let’s see who’s better at wielding a katana… Like what Kisei had been doing, the Uchiha put on his face mask as well, the porcelain mask covering his face to mask his expression.
Again seeking to take the first strike after the long pause, Kayori dashed forward. As he ran, Kayori’s left hand went into his equipment pouch and drew out a vial of green liquid. Under his hooded robe, Kayori drew out his katana a little so that there was a gap and poured the immobility poison into the sheath, crudely coating the entire blade with a layer of venom.
The vial was quickly capped and returned to its space within a matter of seconds. As he neared the Yukina, Kayori tilted his entire katana so that the hilt was facing downwards and in one rapid move whipped out his katana and executed what Kisei had planned to do to him: a horizontal slash across Kisei’s chest. As he pulled back, Kayori used the same tactic that had served him well and launched another kunai. This time, however, it was thrown straight at Kisei’s thigh (with hopes of slowing him down) at a distance of about 30 centimeters.
The moment he had let fly the kunai, Kayori was leaping away from the Yukina to put a distance between the two of them.

Yukina Kisei - August 21, 2007 03:32 PM (GMT)
Damn it! Well at least one of them hit… I’ll have to be trickier to beat this guy… He is faster than me, if only by a bit and also he is physically stronger than me… I have to make him fall into a trap where I can get the advantage! Kisei thought to himself as he saw Kayori deflect one of the poison coated senbon. Perhaps it had been too much to hope for that both of them would have hit, but never the less, the effect of the first one quickly showed itself.
Kayori’s sudden offensive move with the zanbatou had thrown him totally off, he hadn’t been prepared for it at all, and for that he had paid a bitter price! The large sword had ripped through his flack jacket as if it had been nothing! Causing rather large wound in Kisei’s chest, as he had tried to retreat from the massive sword, Kayori had also managed to get a pretty good hit at him with a kunai.
Coughing a bit of blood up Kisei looked up at Kayori, for the first time in a long time Kisei had actually let his guard down, That’s not going to happen again! he yelled inside his head, knowing that if it did it could probably mean the end of him! Kisei was interrupted in his thinking when Kayori took out a scroll, this is a non-jutsu battle! Which means that, that scroll have some weapon inside it… what will he go for now? From the start he was using a weapon that was using the maximum potential of his strength… What could he possibly be planning to use now?
Kisei slightly raised an eyebrow as he saw the katana appear from the scroll, betting on his superior speed this time? Well I guess it isn’t a bad bet really, well at least not for now… Kisei thought to himself as he watched the zanbatou getting sealed into the scroll. Kisei watched with interest as Kayori put on his ANBU mask, it seemed as if he was serious now, Kisei couldn’t help but smiling a bit underneath his mask, things finally getting to start for real! Which meant that he wouldn’t give Kayori any corner and Kayori probably wouldn’t let Kisei have any either!
Kayori dashed towards Kisei, as soon as Kisei noticed that the ANBU had started to move, he prepared himself. As Kayori moved towards Kisei, the medic noticed something. Kayori was doing something underneath his cloak, but he couldn’t tell what it was. Knowing that he couldn’t afford to let Kayori get the better of him, Kisei started to dig his left foot into the lose sand, so as soon as Kayori was close enough he kicked the sand up to partly blind the charging ANBU!
Kisei could see how Kayori’s blade started to cut through the small dust cloud that he had kicked up into the air. With a quick move of his hand Kisei pulled in the wire from the two senbons he had fired at Kayori before, he was quick to make the wires warp around the ANBU’s blade. As soon as he had made sure that the wire was well attached to the blade of his opponent, Kisei leaped underneath the attack and pulled the sword backwards with the help of the ninja wire, hoping to make Kayori injure himself with the sudden change of swords direction!
Though Kisei had been able to get behind his opponent, he hadn’t totally avoided damage. A Kunai that he hadn’t noticed before it was nearly too late had cut him on the upper arm as he had dodged underneath Kayori’s sword. Using same things again? That wasn’t expected!
Kisei held the ninja wire tight, so that Kayori couldn’t suddenly turn around without him knowing it. Even though he had to make dissections fast it was as if time had slowed down, just as it had so many other times when he had been in a battle where he felt he was learning something from it. Lifting up his katana Kisei stabbed Kayori in the back, just around the area where his lungs should be. He could hear how the metal sliced through the flesh of his opponent, he could even feel the Uchiha’s warm blood running down the blade and down on the hilt and his hand.
Quickly thinking of his next move, Kisei let go of the ninja wire and took a hold of the katana with both hands, with all of his strength he turned the katana around inside Kayori’s body, only to force it out of his body by making a horizontal cut through the young man’s body! As the sword exited the wound blood was spraying out on the battlefield, to a normal human being this would have been a fatal wound, however as a shinobi, Kayori was probably used to the pain and knew how to control his body well enough to last the entire battle and still have enough energy to bandage the wound.
Acting as fast as possible Kisei used the power from the horizontal cut to spin around, placing another strike at Kayori’s undefended back! However as he was spinning around to slash Kayori, Kisei was only using one hand! The other hand was quickly searching his equipment pouch! The second the blade of the katana connected with Kayori’s side again Kisei pulled out and explosive note and quickly pushed it into the wound he had made in Kayori’s back and side!
As soon as Kisei had pushed the explosive note into the wound he turned his tail, not wanting to get caught in the blast, however he made sure to only keep the distance needed! Too much would mean that he had to waist energy getting back to finish off the Uchiha!

That last round was mad crazy, I have to give Kisei props for the turn around strategy like that.
Uchiha Kayori - August 23, 2007 03:15 AM (GMT)
Kayori had actually underestimated his opponent, thinking that he could injure him by actually doing something as simple as dashing in head long. Before he could swing his sword across Kisei’s chest, Kayori was suddenly bombarded with sand and dust particles, kicked up by Kisei. Damn! I should have watched his movements!! His slash had already been launched though, missing the target that had actually got under the attack and behind him.
Despite being an amateur at swordplay, Kayori knew it when something had interfered with the balance of his sword. He could feel something tugging on his sword, although it was invisible to him, a result of the sand getting in his eyes. The sand cloud had not settled, but by looking at the shadows on the ground, Kayori could make out where his opponent was. Just as suddenly as the sand had been kicked up, Kayori felt a jerk and was only seconds away from slashing into himself with his poisoned blade when he drew out his current favorite.
Just as he had done with the blow from Kisei, Kayori locked his sword in position by clashing his kunai against it, stopping the blade from moving any closer to his chest. By then, the cloud had settled and Kayori could barely make out the strands of ninja wire on his sword. I may have been trapped, but I’m not stupid enough to be hassled by this trap! No matter how tough something is, when you stretch it to its maximum, it breaks almost as easily as a thread!
Flipping his sword, Kayori smashed the kunai against the blade of the sword, severing the ninja wire with ease. Shaking free the excess, Kayori spun around, only to find Kisei in the midst of trying to stabbing him. For a second, uncertainty flashed in Kayori’s eyes, for a moment revealing his vulnerability. As the proverb goes, sacrifice something small to gain something big… Without waiting further, Kayori brought up his left hand, and grabbed Kisei’s katana, his gloved hand bleeding as he held on tightly to the sword, stopping the stabbing attack.
Not wasting any time, Kayori retaliated to the blow by swiftly thrusting his katana straight into Kisei’s left shoulder, feeling the metal bite into flesh and bone. Kayori twisted his blade in the wound, widening it and making it worse, and when the blade of the katana was pulled out, blood streamed down the Yukina’s arm. Kayori wasn’t sure if the poison that he had applied earlier was still working, but poison or no poison, he sure hoped that the wound was enough to buy him some time to think.
His left hand still grabbing on to Kisei’s katana, Kayori made a crazy attempt as he tried to break the katana by smashing his own into Kisei’s. No matter how strong, a blade is still vulnerable once hit at the correct point!! Kayori’s blade smashed into the base of the katana, where the blade and swordguard met. A splash of sparks and before he could confirm whether the blade was broken or not, Kayori leapt away from the Yukina in order to keep a distance between them.
When Kayori’s eyes swept down to inspect his sword, he found that the sword was a little chipped off at the sharp edge.
“Couldn’t you have used something else to break the sword?” a raspy voice in Kayori’s mind reverberated.
Shut up! Like I had a choice! Didn’t you see how dangerous the Yukina was with his sword?

Notes on Kisei’s Actions/Roleplaying:
You seriously put the thrashing on him with that last assault and if he's not quick on the uptake it looks like you're about to take out your opponent. You nearly crushed your opponent with an crazy 76 damage not including that your poison is still in effect taking an additional 9 toll on him. He's going to be the most deadliest prey of all in this next turn so you best keep your eyes sharp and your wits about you.
Overall Notes:
This is the kind of battle that keeps me coming back for more. Keep up the great work you two and Kayori this may be your last chance to claim victory with that poison putting you closer to the grave by the minute.
Yukina Kisei - August 23, 2007 03:02 PM (GMT)
Kisei could feel how the resistance in the ninja wire suddenly stopped, and by then it was obvious that his attempt to use Kayori’s weapon against himself had failed, but it had still allowed Kisei to escape the attack and the poison, that he however still didn’t knew anything about. Kayori was quick, however he wasn’t quick enough to avoid Kisei’s attacks, and not to mention that he hadn’t noticed the explosive note that Kisei had put into his wound. As it exploded blood and small pieces of flesh was blasted out of Kayori’s body, it was obvious that the attack had been of a great effect.
Even though he was badly wounded and at the brink of where a normal soldier probably would consider just giving up, it seemed that Kayori was too disciplined to do something like that! As soon as he saw a chance, he was attacking once again. Trying to stab Kisei in the shoulder with the poisoned blade! Knowing that an attack to the shoulder so close to the throat would be extremely dangerous, Kisei simply followed his instinct. He got as close to Kayori as he possibly could, so close that their blood soaked bodies even touched each other.
As Kayori lifted up his arm to stab downwards towards Kisei’s shoulder, Kisei ducked underneath his arm, lifting his katana so that it made a deep cut across Kayori’s armpit. The armpit, both on the right and left side a large artery is located rather close to the skin, making it very vulnerable to attacks. If not treated quickly it can cause one to bleed to death within a minute or two. Even though Kayori was a member of the ANBU, it seemed as if Kisei was more aware of the vital spots around a person’s body.
As Kisei moved underneath Kayori’s arm, he was quick to get his hand into Kayori’s equipment pouch, taking out the small weapon scroll in which Kayori just seconds ago had sealed his zanbatou! In his current condition he won’t last long, so if I use the zanbatou against him, I can inflict even more damage at him with each blow! Kisei thought to himself as he prepared to parry another one of Kayori’s sword attacks, as Kayori’s sword traveled towards Kisei, the Yukina medic pressed his sword up against the approaching blade making it miss him with barely an inch!
Even though he had managed to avoid the attack it seemed that Kayori had finally realized that he couldn’t give Kisei any corner at all! With a quick move of his katana, Kayori managed to break Kisei’s blade near the hilt! WHAT! Kisei yelled inside himself, knowing that getting the sword repaired would cost him a fortune!
Though angered a bit by the loss of his katana Kisei was already prepared for this! quickly jumping back he pulled out the weapon scroll and opened it, making the large zanbatou appear in the air! Quickly Kisei took a hold of the large swords hilt with both of his hands and rushed towards Kayori! Though he didn’t stop as he was just within range of Kayori, he continued so that the range was just around the same as when using a katana. This would make dodging the attack by jumping backwards a lot harder!
The large blade cleaved through the air, and Kisei made sure to get a good foothold so that he wouldn’t be thrown off balance by swinging the massive sword! He felt the sword connect with Kayori’s already injured side, and could then feel how the already large wound in Kayori’s side was ripped even more open! Flesh and bone shattered as the massive sword entered and exited through Kayori’s body, sending out a massive spray of blood all over the sand around the two of them!
As soon as the sword was out of Kayori’s body Kisei jumped backwards, so that he was out of range of Kayori’s katana! Kisei quickly changed his stance, holding the zanbatou so that it would be easier for him to make upwards and downwards cuts with the large blade. He the charged towards the Uchiha once again, Kisei let the tip of the massive sword plow its way through the loose sand beneath their feet.
As soon as Kisei was close enough he flipped the sword upwards, making a deep cut from Kayori’s more private area all the way up his stomach and chest, and even to his neck! Kisei enjoyed the feeling of the massive sword cutting through the Uchiha, even though he hadn’t caused that much damage to Kisei as he had done to him, Kisei still looked upon this opponent as one he would love to have a real serious fight with, where the looser would die!
Once again Kisei waited for the sword to exit his opponent before doing anything else. However, this time Kisei didn’t jump back to prepare for another attack, he rushed directly towards Kayori while the ANBU was still suffering greatly from the attacks before. With a quick move of his hand Kisei got a hold of his last explosive note and slammed it into one of Kayori’s wounds once again. An explosive note inside your body hurts! If he doesn’t get it out it will make him suffer greatly… and perhaps even end this duel!
The moment Kisei had placed the note inside one of Kayori’s wounds he leaped backwards and started to head for the beach! Quickly he jumped out on the water and waited for his opponent to either blow up in peaces or follow him to finish the battle!

This is a ruthless slaughter you got going on here. If you keep going at this rate there won't be anything left of your opponent. You managed to pull off some impressive counters from that turn, but your dodge is now at a critical point so you better keep your wits about you.
Overall Notes:
The stakes just got even higher as Kisei is pushing Kayori further into a corner, will he figure out a way to prevail or succumb to the bitter taste of defeat while awaiting the cold call of death.
Uchiha Kayori - August 30, 2007 03:18 AM (GMT)
As his maneuver was outwitted by the resourceful Yukina, Kayori could feel the pain from the slash of his opponent’s blade as the Anbu had ducked the blow to his shoulder and somehow cut Kayori below his armpit. Damn, I should have watched out for that area!! So much for learning to use the body’s anatomy to my advantage!! Pain however was not as fearful as everyone was afraid of. When there is pain, there’s a higher sensitivity to your surroundings and in a way heighten your senses, at least till you finally bleed your way to unconsciousness.
Kisei’s body brushed against Kayori’s and the Uchiha knew the Yukina was up to something, or else, there was no way he would come so close. He could feel something enter his scrolls pouch!!
Reacting almost immediately before the theft could be successfully pulled off, Kayori swung his right hand downwards and slammed the butt of his hilt down on the Yukina’s head. With the Yukina disoriented, Kayori spun around and slammed his knee straight into Kisei’s stomach before he could make his escape.
If the slam on the back of his head wasn’t enough to make him drop the weapons scroll he was trying to steal, this ought to do the trick. Effective as it was, Kayori managed to get the Yukina to drop it on the sand before he could scamper away. Swiftly swooping down on his scroll, Kayori made sure to keep it somewhere safer. With this thought in mind, Kayori shoved the scroll down the front of his shirt, where it was impossible to be stolen unless he was cut straight across the chest.
Kayori had let go another sword blow at the Yukina who, like always, parried with his katana. Kayori was of course angered by this, only that he knew better than to let his anger get the better of him. Instead of going into a blind rage, the Uchiha sought for a more reliable method, which would put an end to all of his problems. Grabbing the Yukina’s katana, Kayori slammed his black katana straight on the hilt of the blade, shattering it into pieces!!
That ought to give me some edge.. the panting Uchiha thought as his pain wrecked expression was covered up by his white porcelain mask. With his opponent weaponless, Kayori smiled a little. He wasn’t the honorable type to fight without a weapon just because his opponent was, and he sure wasn’t going to let go of this golden opportunity!! Still despite his predicament, the Yukina stood watching the Uchiha without relenting. He was still intent on continuing the fight with or without the weapon.
This worried the Uchiha even more, since he knew that the only alternative to a weapon was to steal his zanbatou. Add that to the fact that he wasn’t going to last any longer, Kayori knew his death would come the moment his opponent got his hands on the massive sword. One that was capable of killing Kayori without the need of a well-placed blow. A simple slash through him would be enough to bring the Uchiha to the ground.
He reached up to his face and took off the mask, and threw it to the ground. He was going to put on an act, and he wasn’t going to need his mask any more. Dashing forward, Kayori reached into his equipment pouch for his trustiest weapon. Concealing the kunai into his gauntlet before drawing out his hand, Kayori faked a shocked expression when his hand came out empty handed. He continued with the act, by cursing softly, his lips moving enough for the Yukina to notice.
Aiming for a simple version of his Kokuei Tsubame attack, Kayori didn’t put on the brakes as he ran straight at the Yukina. His blade was by his side, and pushing himself to his limits, Kayori sped past Kisei with what he hoped was fast enough and slashed him across his side, at his waist. You take out my armpit, I take out your waist!! Knowing that it won’t be enough to fall him, Kayori twisted around and launched his concealed kunai from his left hand. Blood splattered as the kunai drew blood; striking Kisei’s left shoulder from the back.
With Kisei staggering from the blow, Kayori sheathed his blade, and tied his genjutsu bell to the kunai with the small length of thread on the genjutsu bell. Dashing forward to meet Kisei from the back, Kayori leapt high into the air and dropped low, ducking beneath the Yukina as he violently stabbed the kunai with the genjutsu bell straight into the Yukina’s thigh.
As the kunai was stabbed, the bell that was tied to it, began to jingle. Kayori put some distance between them, and retrieved his mask. He would see the bell’s effect take over later and there might be some hope yet for him to win the battle…

Notes on Kayori’s Actions/Roleplaying:
You finally managed to turn things around, but it was too little too late. Kisei still managed to get you with that explosive note and since he implanted it directly into that cut he did with his katana beforehand you're pretty much screwed since you assumed that it would be stopped by his theft since he could have implemented such a tactic earlier as its own threat without the added bonus of the combo setup beforehand.

Notes on Kisei’s Actions/Roleplaying:
He managed to disable most of your combo except for that explosive note which finished him considering the severity of his previous wounds. This was truly an awesome match that I wished would have continued longer. Yet it had to end at some ooint.
Overall Notes:
This is definitely going to be a classic. You both gave a hell of a great match and effort out there but in the end Kisei managed to pull out with that explosive note. Although it was a huge lost to him to lose out on most of his turn I started to think about it and realized that there was still the possibility after him partially recovering from your stunning blow to disrupt his theft when he placed his note in response and set it off since you assumed it would not take place due to the theft was kind of cocky for you and it lead to your premature demise Kayori. Overall this was a great fight and I'd like to see a rematch in the future where you both go all out next time.
Here are your rewards for such an awesome match:
Kayori- 70 LP
Kisei- 60 LP
