You is missing a quote somewhere.
To watch an entire SEASON to be hooked? WTF?!

Whoa youngin'. Check the B-days I'm three years older than you. I think I'll lay claim to the old guy remarks here. And I bet I could give you a run for your money when it comes to anime series; as shown above.
You passed the 100 completed series mark yet? >_>

Fate/Stay Night. Look it up. Read it\Watch it\Play it. You'll find your action woman in there (SaberxRin are hawt)
It's not like those horrid Bee-train things, is it?

Oh Spike changed. In the beginning he wouldn't have given his life for anyone and what does he do in the end? Dies for Julia. He didn't gain strength or more gun skill but he gained\reclaimed his heart.
Julia died first. O_o; He died for revenge. He would have done it the whole time, because he was living to get her back. When she died... he had no reason to go on.

A season sounds longer than it is. A weakness of the series is that it seems to just fly right by. I dunno, the right episode might hook you instantly. The wrong episode could turn you off of it for good. It all depends on specific tastes and what you're looking for from the series. I say a season because it'll encompass every aspect of the the series' virtues and vices.

I did not post this thread for it to turn into a debate, Doc I don't care what you say but I'm going to ask once and only once, if you can kindly please stop posting something negative (Which I've read you done for awhile now, yeah voiced your opinion but you kept it up and you are agigtating others now. Don't quote me asking how.) Please do not post in here anymore on my thread my topic, at this time. I respect you and don't close your stuff when I have the power to do so and sometimes the want, you can do the same and not post in my thread over a series that I enjoy, this is for those who like it and wish to talk about it, not an arguement of, "This show sucks I can't believe you guys watch this."
Alright? Let's be mature here now and stop... arguing over a show in attempting to 'convert' people per say. If you watch it and like it then go ahead and let's talk about this (This isn't just to doc anymore at this point.), if you don't like it, then don't waste your time.

It's not a series I'd call violent. It has fighting and people getting pummeled but nothing staining the ground with blood. The last season finale to season 3 Book 2:Earth is probably the most action based sequence we've seen so far.

I dunno what you mean by a Bee-train thing. It's a 24 episode long series based off of a visual novel game that I hear was pretty much hentai. The series is pretty shoujou-ish in story despite all of the obvious male influence so don't get your hopes to far up there for blood and gore.

Drake, I'm completely ignoring you. I want people to tell me why I should watch this show. Trent is obliging. There is no arguing, no bickering, or anything of the sort. We're all having fun here.

MADLAX. (it's in caps like that; that's not just me) Noir. Bee-train material. XD
Give me an episode to find, say, your favorite episode or something. I'll give it a shot, but I'm skeptical.

If you call having fun making fun of other people in your first post, and pissing a few off a bit then so be it, and thank you for going against my wishes.

I'm not making fun of other people, thank you, and I'm not the one who went and called anyone names either. If you must be condemning of things that even SEEM rude, then go talk to Kyon.

Yes you kinda were if you want a reason to go watch the show then go watch the show and find a reason for yourself. I asked you nicely to stop posting in my topic, you completely chose to ignore me which was rude in itself as well.

...I can't believe a fight is occurring to the point where people have to be warned. And I will say that I actually LIKE this series. I've been looking forward to the third book (season) of Avatar for so long...
Favorite battle scenes... # Zuko vs Zhao # Siege of the North Pole # Fall of Ba Sing Se

Convert: The american anime movement in of its self is reason enough to watch the show. As an anime follower you should be pleased that the culture is begining to accept the japanese spin-off of our own earlier creations.
As far as comparing it to Xaiolin Showdown, that's just horrible. Don't do that. We don't compare Astro Boy to Akira do we?
What really really defines Avatar as its own show to me is the actual coriography of martial arts played into it. We're not looking at some moves that someone decided to throw together. These are actual martial arts drawn very well on paper and applied to the theories of chi and elemental which is inherent in all the fundamentals of old world martial arts. The addition of the spirit world and its unique quality pertaining to the Avatar give it more meaning and show us more about chi not just being "some power" like in DBZ, Naruto, or Bleach, but actually being the life force behind every creature and being.
We've also got to appreciate the compilment of all east asian cultures and not just Japan. We can see everything from the 7 chakra and high rise temples of India to the Great Wall of China. It's a well built collage of each culture blended together.
Despite the "elemental scene" being over flooded with dreaded n00b, beginners, and stereotypical losers that harbor and breed in forums like Gaia and LJ we can see a real unique quality in Avatar with a well built story and complication of weaknesses and strengths towards each Element vs. each other. It breaks free of those stereotypes that are assossiated with element based plots and lets us see that the even something as old as that can still breath new life.
THIS! is why I love anime. Philosophical discussions and views. Love 'em. :3 So...sure, guess what.

fshwuu *wipes the sweat from his brow* I was worried that they were going to change the series into some crappy post apacolyptic event but it seems like we'll still have the good old Avatar show we know and love. It will be nice to see how Aang handles Fire bending this time around.
