Drake vs. Jyin

Old training grounds, a place that Drake hadn’t personally visited in a long time. Then again these specific ones had never even been graced with his presence before until now that is. A while ago he had been challenged by a Hyuuga to a fight, however; he had never had the time to do so, until now that is. Arriving early, the Kage Iki waited for the challenger to arrive at the old training grounds as well, not exchanging a word with him much ether. As the sun rose over the sky, revealing the ground littered with old broken shinobi tools, pieces that had been wrecked with time and age, the chuunin stood observing his opponent a few yards away in a lax manner while standing a few yards away.

For some reason he didn’t think this would be a hard fight, but being a rusty as he was he didn’t know exactly how the fight would go down. ~Never underestimate your opponents Drake, no telling if he’s gonna be more trouble then you think.~ The dragon commented as Drake’s left hand went to the sword by his left side and thumbed the hand-guard under his coat. I know… Yet, something told him that if he did act quick enough he could end the battle faster then any he had undergone. Not wishing to savoir the moment though, he didn’t want to unload more chakra then need be to realize it was a mistake in the first place.

“Are you ready?” the kage iki asked his advisory as the initial challenge time was about to catch up to them. Jyin acknowledged and upon doing so the Kage Iki drew the power from the Anchuu Aitemu to increase his agility even more for the small price of chakra. Anchuu Chouonsoku He thought to himself as he then took off in a rush of motion approaching Jyin from a head on approach. Directly attacking in a frontal assault wasn’t the his usual favorite thing to do, but since he had no idea about his opponents potential he figured he go with it for once. As he approached the Hyuuga he came to a stop before reaching the shinobi and started to turn to draw his sword.

However as he pulled the black sword from it’s sheath with the pommel stabbing out towards the Hyuuga, the Kage Iki channeled chakra into the left hand that was holding the sword, turning his fist at the last second and unleashing the Tsuuten Kyaku no jutsu. The chakra in his arm amplified to unruly levels for the small moment of time, as he hammered it into the torso of his fellow leaf ninja. In a normally fatal blow he sent he shinobi flying away with the massive force as the Kage Iki began to move once more using his speed to the backside of the Hyuuga.

Facing one in the past, I know what the eye can do, and the chakra sealing powers. With that in mind he quickly stopped upon getting to the rear of Jyin as he was recovering from the initial attack. Still not in range for close combat, Drake swung his left arm across his body, with the sword still in reverse position in his hand; he unleashed a burst of Kage Hanrin from the black blade towards the shinobi’s backside. As the black moon crescents pummeled into the back of Jyin with there shot gun effect, Drake quickly took the moment for actual close combat as he closed the remaining ground between them, landing to the left of Jyin, rotating the sword around in his hand to it’s normal position, and slashing into the left side of the Hyuuga.

Not caring to see if he made contact or not, the shadow ninja used the dust that was slowly beginning to kick up in the air around him to move into his shunshin no jutsu, appearing on the opposite side of the Hyuuga as he brought Anchuu Aitemu down again in another stroke across the right collarbone of Jyin. As he finished with the final stroke Drake, jumped back giving himself some moving ground between the two of them as he looked up at his opponent to see if any of his attacks had caused any real damage. ~Meh, just keep attacking.~ Dagen suggested as Drake already took aim at Jyin’s body once more. As his foot touched the ground, he quickly let his chakra ignite in a huge burst through his body as he launched himself forward in a blur like motion. Kokuei Tsubame The shadow ninja thought to himself as his black like mass appeared ripping past Jyin’s body before landing on the ground in behind the Hyuuga, hunched over on one knee with the black katana pointed away at the sky.

Jyin’s challenge had finally been accepted after all of this time by the notorious Kage Iki known as Drake. He has only met the guy twice once during Boshun’s meet and greet party at his apartment and during a free for all skirmish they had in the Rokushou estate grounds. He didn’t have the opportunity to test his skill against the talented shinobi but today would be his opportunity to shine. The old training ground was very dusty as a breeze came through and threw up a cloud of dust around the two combatants. The Hyuuga prodigy stared down his opponent before he was asked by his opponent if he was ready. He acknowledged the Iki’s request and the fray started as the combatant before him seemed to pause for a moment to compose himself then instantly charged directly towards him.

Jyin assumed the Jyuuken stance in a defensive posture quickly and activated his Byakugan to scope out his opponent’s strength. The Iki would be a serious contender as his skills were impressive as he closed the gap between the two as he saw the Iki draw his sword and prepare to lash out at him at his torso but thanks to his trusty Byakugan he saw it coming and manage to avoid the blow by disappearing then reappearing behind his opponent to surprise his opponent with his own attack as he struck the Kage Iki from behind in his posterior with the Sennen Goroshi technique.

This was sure to give the Hyuuga the edge he needed to continue with his attack when his opponent was able to get the drop on him and hit him in the back with the energy sickle attack from behind which immediately elicited a yell out of the Hyuuga prodigy. Before he could react his opponent was on him again as he prepared another strike out against him with his sword, but Jyin saw it coming and was quick to counter with his nunchaku as he swung it fiercely to deflect the blade and hopefully catch his opponent off guard with the recoil of his weapon.

This battle was starting to heat up as the Kage Iki disappeared after the incident and tried another surprise with his weapon as the Hyuuga was ready yet again with another deflection of the blow from his sword with his nunchaku yet again.

“Heh, the same trick won’t work on me twice better luck next time!” Jyin retorts proudly while preparing his next move.

These failed efforts were sure to anger the Iki in an effort to get him to come at the Hyuuga all out with one of his strongest techniques and that was exactly what the Hyuuga was waiting for as he channeled a large amount of chakra to his palms just as his opponent was about to strike he broke out with his latest technique that he has yet to make use of. He began swing his arms in a rotational pattern as the Kage Iki closed the gap between them in a blinding pace as he attempted to strike his blow with lightning speed yet the Hyuuga was too crafty as he had put his barrier in place as his opponent was blown away in his efforts to touch him as the huge amount of chakra repelled the Iki’s attack from landing as a huge cloud of dust sprang up between them.

Jyin realized that this was going to be a very interesting battle and hopefully he would manage to pull something out.

Jyin: Better, deffentily better then our fight. However, you need to remember you can not counter everything. Add in a dodge or two next time. They are easier to do.

Did he have a plan? Not even Dagen could answer that as Drake let the events he had set in motion; transpire into the events before him now. Seeing his own attack turn into failure as Jyin began creating a barrier of chakra, the kage iki concluded on what he was going to do. Let’s finish this quickly. He had given the hyuuga a chance to prove his ability, and he had gone easy. Yet, in real life even war you could not go easy as your life is constantly on the line.

As his Kokuei Tsubame met the barrier of the Hakke Garandou Ranmyaku, the black sword coming to a halt before the barrier of chakra, it hung in suspense though as Drake had shifted it to be in a vertical position, something the attack was not meant to have, rendering it practically useless at this point as the momentum died shortly as well. He quickly swung his feet forward, and amidst the chaos of the two jutsu’s colliding, Drake fed the spirit inside of him his chakra. The two became closer to one as he received power beyond the norm, placing his feet forward with more agility then before, almost touching the barrier with them; before executing the Kidan Haiku. A black platform appeared separating the two. Using the black platforms beneath his feet, he launched himself backwards, preventing himself from getting smacked by Jyin’s counter attack like jutsu.

Yet in return the hyuuga had a new enemy to face, as Drake stood with his attire changed in terms of color with a blue coat on. His eyes golden and burning like the very dragon inside of him. Dagen’s Reiniku Kamakaze. He thought to himself as he stood up firmly, his agility further enhanced then before as he could see every single movement of Jyin’s. The boy was slower then him, even the dust around him seemed to move faster as the particles danced and weaved amongst the chaos the two were erupting. Soon though Drake’s own presence would cause an uproar amongst the dust. One that could summon all but the strongest of hurricanes, as its entire focus was placed upon the hyuuga.

Standing with Anchuu down by his left side as he watched the Hyuuga for a moment, calculating his approach of attack, forming a plot in which he’ll destroy the Hyuuga, especially after what he had learned and gained moments prior. He can defend himself with a jutsu, but he probably could try to keep up with my chakra as much as he wants, and I am overall faster then him and stronger in a handful of areas. So let’s see if he can keep up at full throttle. The shadow ninja was off in a burst of speed, his movements practically near untraceable within the clouds of dust as he zipped across the field in random directions with Dagen’s power flowing through him.

He was everywhere at once, the dust being the paint on the battle field, and like a child scribbling the organized colors with there fingers it broke apart as the area cleared for a moment in time around Jyin. Like a second attempt at it, Drake attacked once more with the Kokuei Tsubame, mixing it in with his bursts of speed and agility. It wasn’t like he even performed the jutsu, as the blue arrow like mass that represented his location broke away from its random movements, flying by the hyuuga’s torso as Jyin was dealt a blow across the back of boys waist, appearing as though he was trying to cut him in half. Yet, before his attack could settle or even reach Jyin’s mind Drake reappeared on his left side, driving the sword trough Jyin’s abdomen, forcing the Anchuu Aitemu out the other side of his body.

The air was nothing but clouds surrounding them at this point, the air whipped and swirled with a new pace, the one fight was moving at. Drake’s pace, his pace, the one he wanted it to flow at. Bolting away before he could be attacked the Kage iki vanished as his movements cloaked his own presence within the dust storm, however; it was the purpose to run away for a moment. Or to give the feeling that Jyin was getting a moment of grace, when reality was he was given nothing more then another sword driving into the other side of abdomen. Pushing with his arm, he forced the chuunin off his sword as he flung it to the side cleansing the black blade off his blood. A traditional method to cleanse the sword, granted it usually meant the attacker was done fighting his target at this point, or placing the blade within his hide.

All of which Drake done doing at this point, as driving the sword into his opponents hide, and getting in close was proving to take longer then he wanted. Never getting to truly experiment with his own agility due to the limitations Dagen’s power brought when it was activated, he zipped backwards once again, but this time staying within his opponent’s sight range. He wanted Jyin to see this, so someone could bear witnessed to his next attack, even if it was the person taking it.

Drake was a illusion again, as he moved in a expanding arc back and forth, as he began to slowly circle Jyin. The ground began to part where the Kage iki continued to backtrack and move, keeping himself practically impossible to hit as the hyuuga was not only half his speed, but just one third. As it was half way in-circling the chuunin, Drake finally acted. His illusions stopped the images of where anyone could guess where he was going or where he was. The dust held in the air by itself, like someone had tossed a flag into the air, and no longer had it under their control. Leaving gravity itself to manipulate it as the awkward peace and silence sounded for all but half a second before the blue coated demon appeared standing not even six yards away from Jyin’s right.

Drake swung his black katana down, firing a Kage Izayoi. His body demanded to move, it demanded to be free, it had more freedom then anything else as he vanished once more with the help of the Shunshin giving him a distraction from the chaos in the air, and the black jutsu that flew across the ever so slow Jyin. He wasn’t going to escape, he wasn’t going to stop both, and he was going to fall. Appearing from the jutsu the shadow ninja stood opposite from where he had fired the first beam, which it to had yet to even reach Jyin, it hadn’t even moved more then a foot since he fired it.

Normally he would have liked to do this without the aid of a D rank, but it was needed as he couldn’t move fast enough unless he activated the last jutsu he had that could temporarily amplify his strength. The black sword over his head, he brought it down a second time unleashing a second wave. The black chakra flew towards its target, closing the gap of escape as the first Izayoi hammered in, with the second one eclipsing it completely with its own power. A two shot attack, spread out in time just enough to prevent the escape of his foe.

Yet, Drake wasn’t going to let his guard down. Granted he stood still sheathing his black katana back into its sheath while watching to see if Jyin was still capable of continuing this battle.

Ruling: Speed Increases in battle do not grant extra actions. Action six fails, and chakra is wasted. This ruling, however, should be brought up after this match in the staff room.

Drake: Better. Even if your not up to speed, do watch for basic grammar errors (such as capitalization). Even with that, this still looks like you have this one in hand. Also, watch out for running out of Chakra. Next turn it just might bite you back.

Wrong on arena. Hints: Shinkigen Side Quest + One really tough ninja + that ninja's cousin = all hell breaks loose (and the right answer). That pair of weapons might help out. (and I've never played God of War. Hell, I just got a console from the last generation [Gamecube], and that wasn't even the right one for War!)

Jyin: Your screwed over if your RPing doesn't improve rapidly. Get to it!

Jyin smirked in amusement as his opponent was blown away temporarily by his impressive defensive technique. Yet this was only the beginning of the end as his Kage Iki opponent regained his composure and resumed the attack as he seemed to become even faster than before as a strange blue light flashed through the dusty training grounds as it neared him. Jyin couldn’t keep track of his opponent’s movements as clearly as before even though they were fast then, not to mention that the dust is making it even harder yet he can still make out the chakra outline of his opponent through this mess even though he may not see his actual attacks as clearly. It was at that moment that the Iki took advantage of this flaw and made his move to strike down the Hyuuga in a lightning fast blitzkrieg attack. The Hyuuga prodigy has been studious to learn from great tales of his ancestors and of legendary shinobi. The major flaw with lightning blitzkrieg attacks are that you don’t have a chance to avoid any last minute defenses the enemy placed in your path to hurt you just as bad as you can dish out, which was exactly what the Hyuuga had in mind. As he began the same movements, he did earlier to ignite his specialized barrier that saved him from the Iki’s earlier assault. The strong surge of chakra manifested in a whirling vortex yet again with enough force hopefully to repel another strike of the elusive shadow shinobi.

“I’ve got to admit that you’re more than a match for me Drake, but don’t count me out just yet!” Jyin replied as he began a set of hand signs and focused his chakra as he spotted the shimmering sword on the ground wrapped in a chain of sorts.

The Hyuuga focuses on that spot in particular, as it instantly appears to take on the form of himself in a defensive stance as the dust cloud around them was in full force as Drake’s movements had hindered himself into walking into the Hyuuga’s trap. His incredible speed and rapid sporadic movements had thrown up enough dust to make it hazy for both combatants to see each other but Drake had a good head start of heading in the last known location of the Hyuuga. Jyin decided to rectify that problem as he quickly dashed across the area towards the mysterious looking sword away from his last location under the cover of the dust in preparation for his surprise. When all was said and done he barely managed to avoid the tip of Drake’s blade as it connected with his illusion’s backside about a foot away from his shoulder as he was crouched holding his newfound toy and he sprang into action himself as he appeared behind him using the Shunshin no Jutsu just in time to fling the chain attached to the sword around his Kage Iki foe and close the deal with a swift stroke to the spine then immediately drops the weapon.

This clever bait and trap tactic had to thrown the Iki off his strategy of a quick kill as he managed to recover somehow as he sped through the Hyuuga’s illusion other side with his other stroke in preparation for a double whammy maneuver to trap the real Hyuuga now that the plot was foiled by his devious action. Jyin was just about out of ideas to pull off a miracle when it came to him as he waits for nearly the last second for the two blasts to hit their mark with him and disappears in a blur as he switches places using the Kawarimi technique with the mysterious sword he used earlier and dropped off a few feet away to his right.

3) Used Shunshin no Jutsu thanks to distraction of his illusion in conjunction with the mysterious sword to wrap up Drake and strike him in the spine from behind (Acc: +5/-3 + ? Weapon acc (+4/-3 + ? due to field effect), ??? DP, possible critical since bound somewhat) chakra 9+?

4) Evaded Drake’s double whammy assault of Kage Izayoi no Jutsu (Shadow Moon) by Kawarimi no Jutsu at the last minute with the mysterious sword weapon that was dropped nearby to avoid the double collision attack 8 chakra -10 ACC to the oncoming attack
