Well, since everybody's been so out of control and we just cant get enough of this place, i figured we should find something to slow it down,.......

all sarcasm aside, we need something. yeah, yeah, we've all had this same damn discussion thousands of times (no exaggeration in that statement either) and we can never pull anything out of the hat to fix it for more than a week or so. Here lies the question: What the hell is wrong here? what are we missing? what ties it all together?

we need to find some sort of system to keep things running and staying active. Sure, the small board community is great and everything, but we've had plans for branching out for forever and nothing happens, probably because there's hardly any effort out of it. the bottom line is SOMETHING NEEDS TO HAPPEN.

We've had the same dull topics day after day after day, and sure, it works for a while but it gets old after the 15th page of Brawl update posts. That's all that's keeping us here really at the moment. i've tried posting about my recent splurge of games, and the only one that recieved any attention was mp3, and that's already been ignored. Nothing is keeping anyone's attention here anymore and it just freaking sucks.

I could go on and reminisce about the old days of tnr/nfu, but we've all heard the sob stories before. Doesnt cut it. We've tried making ANOTHER board to start things fresh. zilch. something is seriously wrong. we are boring as freaking hell. I feel like i'm watching paint dry when i come here some days.

As for my proposition, i think each member should be in charge of some sort of annual update kinda thing. DM's editorials (not to mention the fanfics) already have shown signs of ass kick/name takery, and i'm apparenly getting games faster than anyone here, so i figure i could do reviews (although it'd be better if there were several people doing them to cover more ground), Dsd or Art could keep track of updates in the general gaming world or whatever else could help out around here, like grabbing more members (sorry, just not sure what your special contributions would be yet ) and if KDH is ever around, PC articles could work.

All in all, we just need a system to keep the board well-rounded, instead of just looking at brawl topics and the occasional RI fix. I think things could work out, but we need help from everyone. not just one change, everywhere.

I don't really want to rain you out but it ain't gonna happen, dude. The only thing that keeps us here is that we all know each other, and we all care enough to still hang here. It's just one of hundreds of Nintendo fan message boards that's long past its prime. It was like a big bang... Suddenly everyone was together in one place... then people started spiraling out... and few of us have spiraled out together, and this is where we are now. The only way to get us back to our prime is to cause it to happen all over again, which is not going to start here, nor is it going to happen here.

All we can really do is enjoy what we have here. Certainly things could be a little better... To be quite honest, due to lack of comment and criticism of the SSBI, I don't feel motivated and encouraged to continue working on it. I feel like I'm wasting my time. I know I shouldn't, feedback from a couple people is better than no feedback at all, but I'm not working on it at the pace I feel that I should be.

Personally I'm getting annoyed with all the name changing and the dumb inside jokes that go with it, as well. Maybe I'm being a prude, but I want to talk about games and gaming with my fellow gamers, not count the number of times Slayer has changed his name before he now calls himself .

I'm not leaving here anytime soon, but I certainly don't feel as compelled to post here as I would like to. Instead I drop on to the boards for about 20 seconds, see new posts in the SSBB topic and a bunch of stupid shit in RI then go on to the next website. I even tried to share my interest in something I thought was really cool in the General Gaming board and as far as I can tell, nobody bothered to check it out since nobody bothered to say anything about it. This place really makes me sad.

yeah, i suppose i get where you're coming from. we just dont have enough incentive to get things moving at a better pace anymore. this place is basically a member based chatroom more than a message board really. it just sucks for us to be this sluggish for almost a year now. nothing exciting. i guess i didnt really expect anything to come out of this anyway,... just a shot in the dark.

i dont even look in RI anymore, there's nothing worth looking at in there. I'd just like a tightknit group of gamers talking about games. it hardly feels like that anymore. I know quality's more important than quantity, but our numbers and activity have both drastically slipped. I'll just have to be happy with what we've got here, it's not all bad really. :/

What pisses me off most is the complaining about how we're not active, yet every couple of months I come up with crazy ideas for the place and make a huge topic about it, and no one seems to care.
