The Next Battle

I walk into the gym and am welcomed by the scorching heat that the people of this city didn't seem to mind. Of course I wouldn't know, since I'd only been in the city a few days.

I take a few steps into the gym and let out Ruby. She immediately felt at home because the amazing heat that was getting hotter by the second. She ran over to one of the fire walls and started playing with the fire.

"Is anyone here?" I said, looking for a minion that I would have to battle before I could battle the gym leader. I waited for a reply when...

you see a shady and long red haired trainer appear from behind a pillar ahead... getting closer and closer, you can see that he has a certin red badge on his t-shirt...

"You must be the next challenger.. welcome to this gym, its newly built, but it contains some of the strongest trainers in this part of the land...."

the trainer moves his hand to show the rest of the area, filled with other trainers battling and being introduced... up ahead, there was what looked like a raised piece of ground that contained a large seat at one side, with a shady character sitting in it... drinking something, with a Pokeball resting on the other chair arm...

"That is the leader" , you start advancing, but the trainer steps infront of you, and extends his arm into you, lightly tapping you back with his index and ring finger... "but not so fast... you must prove me you can handle the heat..."

opening his coat out and taking it off, you could see beads of sweat running down his brow, as he tied back his red hair with a bit of dark wine red ribbon... his coat was thrown onto the ground, to reveal a milky white torso, chizzled from the heat and harshness of the gyms conditions, he had a long tattoo running down his left arm, it looked like it was some sort of dragon and inscription...

"Are you ready to challenge?" he said, reaching down onto his belt, taking off a Pokeball...

"Sure, I'm ready for a challenge." I motioned for Ruby to come over for the battle. She looked at me, then back at the flaming wall, and the trotted over to me.

"Be prepared. Use a Metal Claw attack on whatever comes out." She nodded but you could tell her mind was still on playing with the fire wall.

We waited for the trainer to release his pokemon...

"Hmm? Fire against fire? good call" said the trainer, and smirked at that point.

Removing a Pokeball, they released a Slugma level 28 (Female) into the area

"Get ready SLugma" the trainer whispered into the Pokemons direction...

"You may make the first move... since you are the challenger!" said the trainer, looking confident and staring at your Pokemon, awaiting the move...

"This will be tough, but you can do it Ruby. Use Metal Claw." nodded slightly then ran towards Slugma to attack...

[Paul Markey]

The Slugma looked backtowards Ruby, un-knowing of the other Pokemons looming presence, and was struck in the face with great force from a set of Claws, leaving red scratches down its face... Slugma was delt medium damage

The damage sent the Slugma int a frenzy, and the trainer didn't even have to say anything, he just mouthed the words "Ember attack", and Slugma blew out a thin stream of fire, which landed all around the Charmeleon, being delt medium damage...

"Alright Ruby, nice job. Now attack with another Metal Claw attack!" I watched as Ruby ran towards the Slugma to attack again and...

It was a good idea, but the trainer was fast on his wits at this point, after letting his guard down, and so was Slugma...

"Dodge", shouted the trainer, and almost instantly Slugma shifted to the side and avoided the glistening claws with ease...

"Ember again!", This time, the ember only delt a little bit of damage to Charmeleon, as it moving and some of the flames missed...

"Alright Charmeleon, use another Metal Claw attack on Slugma! Hurry!" Ruby started running towards Slugma after I said "Metal Claw," attempting to hit Slugma before it could do anything...

Slugma was hit, and hit hard, being delt a medium amount of damage, and it started shaking in its stance... it was getting weaker from the battle...

It tried to retalieate with another Ember, but was too slow, and missed Charmeleon by a mile...

"Good job Charmander, now Metal Claw again!" Ruby started running towards Slugma again, thinking about playing with the fire wall again...

Both Pokemon connected, and connected hard, but Slugma had the advantage of hitting with Ember first, slowing Charmeleon even the slightest bit just before the claw hit...

Charmeleon was hit medium damage, and was nearing a weakened state.. The claw connected with Slugma, who was delt medium damage as well, sending the Pokemon down into a Weakened state...

"Another Metal Claw attack Charmeleon!" I yelled. Ruby ran towards Slugma, ready to swipe it with her claw...

The Pokemon nearly connected with Slugma, however, Slugma dodged the movement at the last second, and used a Smog attack... The dirty cloud of air was slowly dropping down towards the Charmeleon....
