its so sleek, please post and tell me how sweet it is
Pimpity Poo Poo - August 4, 2005 03:51 AM (GMT)
Well... I love it. I only wish mine, oops, i mean my brothers weren't scratched.
outrider - August 4, 2005 03:52 AM (GMT)
If you ever get a good game on it, I might think about it. As for now, you get a dumbass award for pretty much wasting 250 bucks...I almost guarantee that there will be a price drop before a worthwhile original game comes out on it.

by the way you can store music, pictures, movies, I soon will have a full episode of family guy on it, and many songs. Also you are able to emulators on it.
Pimpity Poo Poo - August 4, 2005 04:09 AM (GMT)
Not to mention the next update (August 12) will allow you to browse the internet, send pictures, and set backgrounds. Plus several other things i forgot. Its not just a gaming/video playing device, it's "growing."

http://hardware.gamespot.com/Story-ST-11721-2339-x-x-xaugust 12, poo poo i told you the wrong date.
outrider - August 4, 2005 04:25 AM (GMT)
Very good? What games? and are they original? If not, I don't care. The features mean nothing because it's overpriced for what it can do if it doesn't have any good games worth a crap.
-Zack
Pimpity Poo Poo - August 4, 2005 04:32 AM (GMT)
Now wait, can you browse the internet on ANYTHING cheaper than $250?

have you tried lumines, mercury, or any other titles... wait you've probably never played one....
outrider - August 4, 2005 04:39 AM (GMT)
No I haven't....but I have read up on them, I always do on everything, and, they simply aren't the sort of thing worth spending the money on. Really, I don't see much promise when it comes to the games out or coming out on the psp...at least the DS has FFIII.

Hi there... New here, first post. I thought that I should let you know that I am a friend of Titans and Meres. ANYWAY!
I beg to differ on your view of the PSP. It not all bout the games, which is what the DS is all about. The PSP offers quite a few Multimedia functions including: Photos, Videos/MP4, UMD Movies, MP3, Internet Browser (Coming Aug. 12th) and of Course GAMES!! You say that it lacks "Original Games"? Well you better look around cause there are quite a few to choose from. There are also a lot of big name games due for the PSP buy years end.
Lumines - Best Puzzle game since Tetris itself without a doubt.
GTA: Liberty City Stories - Fully 3D GTA Just like the consoles, what POWER!
Gran Turismo Mobile - Who dosn’t love this series, come on.
Burnout Legends - Just like Burnout 3 but with TONS more Tracks/cars etc.
SOCOM Fire Team Bravo - The popular Online shooter now in handheld from!
FF VII: Crisis Core - There is the FF game you asked for.
Infected - ORIGINAL gameplay, Wins my award for bloodiest handheld game.
Death Jr. - Original Platformer
Pursuit Force -
Madden NFL 2006 - Yea we all hate EA but who cares... It a portable Madden taht plays liek the consoles!!!
Lemmings - They RETURN!!!
Sonic - Will this be the return of its 3D age from Dreamcast???
and I cant name anymore cause there is just too many!!
Most of these titles are set for launch before Xmas, leaving my bank account funds lower than usual.
Another bonus with the PSP is it Online Community (PC to PSP Content). The most noticeable is its Hacker Community. V1.5 Firmware has the ability to do so many things if you research them. The most popular is games through Emulation. You can play you favorite games from back in the day from Nintendo to SNES, even earlier systems. Also user created Homebrew Games and Applications. Some sites no offer PSP Magazines that you can download and view on your PSP, much like a real Magazine but without all the Clutter. There is my rant.. I LEAVE YOU NOW!! Here is a pic of my PSP!! Its all pimped out.

ISNT THE SCREEN THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!
outrider - August 4, 2005 05:00 PM (GMT)
FF spinoff from the worst FF game...yeah....and, only lumines is original, and, at that, tetris itself is still probably better. It is still just about the games because they pack so many features into it that buying seperate things to do all that is more cost effective and the other things are superior. You can buy a 30 gig Ipod for a little more than a psp, that stores your pictures and music, and any cell phone basically will have the web browsing. Buy a 75 dollar GBA and you have better games. Thats roughly 500 dollars, and you can do everythingthe PSP can exponentially better. And, at that, to get a PSP up to 30 gigs, you have to buy 30 1 gig SD cards at 150 bucks a pop.

outrider - August 4, 2005 05:05 PM (GMT)
Don't get me wrong....I'll by a PSP someday, totally for crisis core. But, the games in general don't make it worth 250 dollars, and I'm not spending that much for crappy versions of features I can get with other things better. It, in the end is about the games, because if it weren't, you wouldn't buy one, you'd just get a pda and an ipod. And because the games are still lacking, the price is TOO high.

outrider - August 4, 2005 05:42 PM (GMT)
And, if crisis core ever comes to America(which I would never bet on), it will be quite amazing if it's here by christmas 06.

as long as it gets here im happy :D
outrider - August 4, 2005 08:01 PM (GMT)
If you care that much about Final Fantasy, you should be orgasming over the DS, because, the only true FF to never come out in America is being brought over after nearly 20 years on that. Seriously...I don't know if it's a sign that FF can't live without Sakaguchi(which I'm not willing to admit yet), or if it's just the nature of the game, but, FFX-2 proved that spinoff FF's simply are nothing to the real thing. Great fun, but not the epically great things of the other 10(can't really count 11, the best MMORPG perhaps, but not useful for real purposes).

trust me im not a huge FF fan but the only one I really enjoyed was VII.
outrider - August 4, 2005 08:43 PM (GMT)
So, you're barely a video game fan at all? or at least, you're not a hardcore gamer. lol. I probably shouldn't have wasted my time arguing anything...if thats how it is, you'll never see things my way.

Come again with how I'm not a hardcore gamer
Dibs Master Flex of PACVILLE - August 4, 2005 09:04 PM (GMT)
im done with this thread, would a MOD please LOCK this, i'd rather argue with someone I don't like.
and outrider I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore gamer. Though I spend alot of time on videogame forums, gamespot.com, and of course playing videogames. Am I huge into RPG's...no.
outrider - August 4, 2005 09:04 PM (GMT)
The textbook definition of a hardcore gamer is one who's favorite games are RPGs, old-school style shooting games(rtype, ikaruga), and fighting games. If you only like the public-friendly final fantasy, you're not a hardcore gamer, because you don't like RPGs.

 and yes your right im not a hardcore gamer though I would not consider myself a casual gamer, not at all. Good for yourself if you consider yourself a hardcore gamer. Yes I said above I was a hardcore gamer but I must be wrong since I don't like RPG's. Man was that my mistake for I didn't know the textbook defintion...
no really though I think that is the worst definition ever. Let's say my friend Felipe Steven Ramirez buys games like crazy. Easily spending over $200 on them monthly. He reads up on everything about the industry. He also would rather play Counter Strike Source, or BF2, or Forza Motorsports, Physconauts, Lumines, or tetris for gods sake instead of go out with friends. Yet he out of all the money he spends he did not buy 1, no not even 1 single RPG he is not a hardcore gamer.
But now to my definition of hardcore gamers
"Hardcore gamers are gamers who play every game ever published, even the Barbie Adventure games. Yes you must play even them to be crowned as a hardcore gamer."
now since neither of us are hardcore games please, go away and play ur beloved RPG's and leave me in peace with my love for everything else. PEACE

Lol, whatever...I shouldn't even answer you, but it gets my post count higher. I'm going to quote chet from Game Informer the month Ikaruga came out on gamecube...."Wouldn't it be hardcore if we made Ikaruga game of the month?" You know what was game of the month that month? I believe it was Red Faction II, but I don't really remember..anyways, the point is, Ikaruga is the hardcore gamers pick, and a first person shooter isn't.

Admiral Maxtreme - August 5, 2005 12:52 AM (GMT)
i wish they had made it able to play regular dvd's. because if it did, it would rock so much more.
Admiral Maxtreme - August 5, 2005 01:05 AM (GMT)
i made that post without reading the second page, which is why it is so out of place.

No, I've had four because the first three broke. The games are that worth it. I've never played it online at all. And, only the first one cost more than 18 bucks, so, don't think I'm totally loaded.
