There's been some debate as to whether it will help the strike or not to boycott online streaming episodes of shows. Basically, the idea is that if we deprive the networks of this advertising revenue, they will use that to support their argument that they aren't making any money from it. So if you do boycott online programming, you must accompany that with a letter to the AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers - aka, the bad guys) letting them know WHY you are boycotting.

Print out some postcards (warning, PDF file, may take a while to load and needs Adobe Reader to open):
http://www.fans4writers.com/images/wga-postcards-2.pdfAnd send them to the AMPTP.
Print out some flyers:
http://www.fans4writers.com/images/f4w-fanflyer.jpgAnd put them up or give them out to people. I'll be putting them up at RIT once classes start up again (I think it would be a fool's errand to put them up during finals week), assuming the strike is still on by then (most likely). Anyone who wants to help me is more than welcome - I will also accept donations to offset the printing cost.
Buy bracelets or shirts:
http://www.strikeswag.com/If there is enough interest by you guys, and you can give me a little money (because I'm sooooo broke it ain't even funny), I'll order a set or two of the bracelets for us.
Heroes fans: 1000 cranes for Heroes:
http://boards.9thwonders.com/index.php?showtopic=61061Fold paper cranes to send to NBC to show your support for the Heroes writers that are on strike.
There's lots more we can do as well - these ideas are just the beginning. As some of you probably know, I put my own blog on strike to show my solidarity and support. How far you want to go with it is, of course, your own choice, but I hope that you guys join me in doing all I can to help the writer that has brought us all together.
