Stayed up late to watch my netflix movie "Magic Mike".......should have gone to bed. Most boring movie ever. Not even the dancing of good looking guys can save this movie. That was even boring.

They describe this movie as a comedy but there is absolutely nothing funny in it. The acting is not terrible but they are in a badly written and directed movie. You could care less about any of the characters.

I kept checking the time, I just wanted this movie over with. Then I thought to myself why am I still watching this movie.......just to get to the end. Do I really care how it ends, no. So half way through the movie I turned it off. I felt relieved it was over with.

This is the worst movie ever.

Be warned this movie is on the raunchy side......it deserves it's R rating.

Oh dear, that sounds awful, but understand what you mean. Sure I have felt that way about some movie or other at some point.

Saw Breaking Dawn 2 and you were right I absolutely loved it. Best of the lot i think.

Will say the very beginning of the movie of Magic Mike is worth seeing.......Channing Tatum butt. It was really cute. Drool.gif

We watched Rock of Ages tonight. I was surprised how much I liked it. The music is great in this movie. The story line is simple but works. I liked Tom Cruise.... Tomato.gif no Eileen KGiggle.gif I was surprised how good he can sing. Steve and I really had fun watching this movie.

Funny part is our son Alex told us to turn it down. He said Mom & Dad do you know it is midnight. KGiggle.gif

Watched Batman...The Dark Knight Rises last night. Of all the Christian Bale Batman movies this was the worst. Where the Dark Knight with Heath Ledger as the Joker was pure genius.....this last one was a big let down. The only thing that even makes this newest Batman watchable is Anne Hathaway as catwoman. She is great and best catwoman ever. It was really very clever how she wears these special night time vision glasses and when she pulls them up on the top of her head they look like cat ears.

The Bane villain was a big let down. Sometimes you couldn't understand him. When you could his voice sounded like it was recorded in a studio. With that mask on you never saw his face. So there was no emotion from him.

The movie dragged on. Was slow at times. Not enough Batman with cool gadgets in it.

Even with saying all of this, would still recommend this movie just to see Anne Hathaway as catwoman. I wouldn't buy it but just rent it. I think if you watch this movie with low expectations it makes the movie more enjoyable. Kyelbiggrin.gif

Watched Ted and liked it. It's silly and predictable but I thought it was cute. They did a really good job on the bear. You felt like he was real. Yes.gif

It's basically about a guy who refuses to grow up but when he realizes he could lose the girl he loves if he doesn't....he tries to be an adult. The girl realizes that the guy being adult doesn't mean he changes everything about himself. Than they all ride off in the sunset......guy, girl, teddy bear.........and Flash Gordon. KGiggle.gif

I watched Joyful Noise last night. Off the radar movie with Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton, Keke Palmer and Jeremy Jordan. Church choir, lots of great singing, just enjoyable to me.

A little too much 'Sister Act' at the end, but dang can those kids sing.

I started watching Joyful Noise but wasn't able to get into the movie. They are showing it on HBO now. Will check it out for the singing.....which is the part I always like. Which was the best part of Sister Act II. Still trying to figure out at the end of Sister Act II where the kids sing the choir competition how they got all those colorful clothes. When Whoopi tells them to take off their choir robes they have all these new clothes on that they were not wearing earlier on the bus. KGiggle.gif

This weekend we had free Showtime and Cinmax. Watched one of my favorite movies The Help 3 times. It should of won best picture Oscar over The Artist. The Descendants was way better than The Artist. Shame.gif

My brother saw Life of Pi and said it was amazing. I'm not able to see 3D movies. They make me sick. When I do see it will be regular Blu-ray. My brother couldn't believe it when I told him the tiger is not real. So looking forward to seeing it when it comes out on DVD. Wish I could see it 3D. Shame.gif

I recently watched Moonrise Kingdom. A very quirky movie. Made by Wes Anderson who also made The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. I love his movies because they are so different.

Moonrise Kingdom is about 2 young teens who run away together. How everyone is trying to find them. These 2 teens feel like no one understands them because everyone sees them as weird. After seeing all the crazy adults you wonder who is really the weird ones. KGiggle.gif Even though the fishhook earrings made with beetles.....does make the teens more nuts. Yes.gif

It's nice sometimes to just watch something really different and quirky.

I have been watching Sherlock, a British.gif show on netflix. I like the actor Benedict Cumberbatch who plays Sherlock. You feel bad for Watson. Sherlock puts him through a lot. Show has it's problems but the actors make it work.

I was very sad that the other British.gif show Merlin ended. It was really different type of story on King Arthur. I liked it.

Saw Pitch Perfect......I liked it but it could have been so much better. It has some good scenes and some stupid ones. The singing in it is really good.

Watched Argo and it is a really really good movie based on a true story. Even though you know how the movie ends, it is still very tense. The movie is not totally accurate because they are making a movie and want it to be a little more exciting. It gets the basics right. They just hyped up the ending some. Yes.gif

Caroline saw your favorite Denzel Washington Swoon.gif

I watched Flight. Very good movie. Denzel is awesome in it. It is a predictable movie but the acting is wonderful. What I like about DW is that he comes off as someone you feel you can trust but he is an alcoholic and a drug user. He is lying to everyone and to himself.

I think I'm going to keep Denzel.....you can keep the little asia dude, Caroline. KGiggle.gif

Beautiful Creatures....like the book but the movie is a bad adaptation of the book. The acting is good but it bugged me while watching that the movie was so different from the book. I know that can't do everything in the book but this is like a whole other story from the book. My daughter Sarah liked the movie but she has never read the book. So I'm guess you will like the movie better if you never read the book.

The Master.........no, no, no, no and no. Acting is great. In fact Joaquin Phoenix is so good at being such an unlikeable character that you just don't care what happens to him. I didn't even want to ever see his Freddie character again. I wished the movie has been more about Lancaster Dodd and his wife Peggy.
While watching the movie was interrupted and couldn't finish seeing the movie. Was going to watch it latter. Than decided why watch anymore of this movie that I could care less what happens to any of them. Sent it back to Netflix. The movie also feels too long, it drags and gets very boring. Sleeping.gif

No way. I am having them both. I usually believe in share and share alike, but not with Denzel. NO WAY. Hug2.gif

I saw flight and also liked it. I enjoyed Joyful Noise even though it was sister Act like. I enjoy musical films like that.

Last weekend, I both sons eldest sons (Micaiah and Myles) and I put on the Last Dragon for them to watch (I forgot to say I really like Taimak as well) and it was like watching my boys when they were little. I got the same response from my grandsons. When the film finished they wanted to watch it again. This film was made in the 80s but I still enjoyed it now. It brought back such good memories.

I guess we will have to be fighting over Denzil Box.gif KGiggle.gif

Watched Skyfall.....excellent James Bond movie. One of the best. I love this movie. I love Danial Craig. He is just very sexy...especially without his shirt. Hubba.gif The thing I like best about Daniel Craig is he gives a realism to James Bond which is hard since we all expect Bond movies to not be very realistic. Skyfall is a beautifully shot movie. Adele singing the opening song is perfect. It so deserved the Oscar.

Another favorite show of mine is on Netflix. I'm loving the British.gif show...really movies on Sherlock Holmes. It's just called Sherlock. Playing the title character is Benedict Cumberbatch. When I see his name I think of our very old sims lady Mrs. Crumplebottom. KGiggle.gif He is what makes Sherlock work. He is quirky, brilliant and crazy all at the same time. When I first watched Sherlock, wasn't sure I liked it. Watched it again, ok its getting better. Watched it a 3rd time and loved it. Poor Watson. KGiggle.gif I'm really excited with the new Star Trek movie coming out with Benedict cumplebottom playing the bad guy. He is a great actor. heart.gif

Watched Zero Dark Thirty..........well half of the movie. Steve wanted to see it, so I watched it with him. I didn't want to see the torture scenes, so I didn't watch that part. Once the torture scenes were over, the movie was good. It was interesting to watch. The part where they go in and get Bin Laden was the best part of the movie. Steve thought some of the movie before the raid were a little slow. Not really my type of movie but I'm glad I saw it. Probably never watch it again. Caroline the ending is at night, so it is very dark. Don't think you will like that part.

To me the torture showed the CIA's obsession to get Bin Laden. Which didn't really work and from watching the movie it caused them to follow the wrong lead for 9 years.

Watched Lincoln. Great movie and I know I will be watching this one over and over again. Daniel Day Lewis who played Lincoln was amazing. The movie focused on the 13th amendment, end of slavery. So the movie is mostly all talk. You have to pay attention to what is going on. It was a really interesting movie to watch. I actually learned some new things about what was going on during this time of trying to pass the 13th amendment. Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones were great too. Yes.gif

Because I am a disabled person KLove.gif I am sitting a lot at home now .
So I am watching lots of movies and read lot of books .

A good series I am watching is Copper , real good !!!

http://www.bbcamerica.com/copper/
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6esb4Nf-B34

It plays in New York in 1864 ( Abe is president ) and it is interesting to see how New York looks like then and how the people looks like .
The story is also interesting but it is not for the weakhearted , maybe Eileen should not look .

Watched Life of Pi......it's different and I liked it. I liked how they showed his story with his family before the ship went down. You felt connected to Pi. It was a beautifully shot movie and I watched it in 2D. It's meant to be watched in 3D. Suraj Sharma who played Pi was great. He had to act with CGI animals. Speaking of the animals, they look so real. KOMG.gif

The survival story of a boy and a tiger which showed that they needed each other to survive.

I like to see how this movie was made now. Will google it and check it out. Yes.gif

Lots of movies to catch up on........

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
I liked this movie. It's not as good as Lord of the Rings but its close. I think there are some scenes which could of been shorten or deleted. I didn't realize that Bilbo was played by Martin Freeman who plays Watson on the British.gif Sherlock. He is very good as Bilbo. I just found it nice to go back to the world of Middle Earth with Hobbits, Elves, Wizards, Fairy.gif Dwarfs and the rest. I missed them.

Les Miserables
Great movie and the singing in real time, not in a studio made the movie even better. Hugh Jackman was amazing at times didn't even look like him. I think I keep picture him as Wolverine, that may be my problem. Drool.gif Kyelbiggrin.gif I do wish a few of the singers had been better. Russell Crowe is great in this movie but his singing is not the best. I thought there was too much singing from Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter. No.gif They were kind of annoying. Overall it is a good movie and a different kind of musical. Some dark scenes in it that you may not like Caroline. Anne Hathaway deserved the Oscar for best supporting actress in this movie. She was amazing.

The Impossible
Is the story of family on vacation in Thailand when the tsunami hit in 2004. This is a hard movie to watch at times, but it is so good. Have a box of tissue with you. Some graphic scenes but they move quickly which helps. Naomi Watts deserved her Oscar nomination. The kid actors are really good. They don't annoy you like some kid actors do. You feel like your really there with a real family.

Now my favorite luv.gif ......Silver Linings Playbook
I love this movie. I knew it was about mental health issues, which I usually don't watch. This is different and it is so good. This is an actors movie. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence have real chemistry between them. Jennifer Lawrence really deserved to win the Oscar for her acting. She was amazing. One of Robert De Niro best movie roles. Out of all the movies this one is the one to watch. We all know how this movie is going to end but what makes this movie so good is the journey it took to get there. I have to buy this movie. What surprised me is that Steve liked it. Of course he thinks Jennifer Lawrence is super sexy. KGiggle.gif Bradley Cooper is pleasing to the eye to. Drool.gif

Watched Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter on HBO. Even though it was a little on the silly side, I liked it. It was campy fun to watch. It was funny seeing him as President fighting vampires. Drac_smiley.gif
