Dear Daniel,
There is a friend of mine who likes to root against the teams I like to root for, and it can get kinda annoying. I don't want to hurt his highly delicate feelings, but I'm going to go crazy if he keeps it up. What should I do?
Sincerely,
Long Live the Diehards.

QUOTE (Vinnie @ 10th April 2009 - 14:56)
Dear Daniel,
A friend of mine is running an advise column, and he doesn't get on as much as I do, should I ask him if I should help him with it? Or should I just wait until he makes an enormous blunder and gets in trouble for it?
Please let me know what you think,
Sincerely,
Golden-keyed-typewriter.

Dear Golden-keyed-typewriter,
That is a very thoughtful idea to offer your help to your friend. But be careful, you friend may have very good reasons for not getting on as much as you do. Besides, you have to consider many things about offering your help to your friend. You have to consider the friendship between you and your friend, because you don't want to lose that. Nor your friend I'm sure. You have to also consider the possibility of you wanting to give advice, when your friend wants the advice he gives, to be solely his. Although, if he really was a friend, he would value your advice too. Beside those two things, there are so many pitfalls you have to beware of about this, because the last thing you want is a ruined friendship. Speaking of blunder and trouble, I don't know what you exactly meant there and how it could happen. So I can't help you there. So yes, if I were you, I would consider all the faculties of this offer. Then, if you can't see any real harm in asking, then go right ahead and offer your help. If your friend refuses the help, then be considerate enough to back down and let your friend be, so the friendship between you and your friend is not ruined. After all, it is your friend's advise column.
Good Luck!
Dear Daniel :)

Dear Long Live the Diehards,
I know how that can be annoying when a friend always root against the teams you're a die-hard fan of. I happen to be a die-hard sports fan of many teams from the great state of Wisconsin. Plus a fan of a few teams out of state. I can understand how you do not want to hurt your friend's feelings and go crazy at the same time. So, I would suggest you ask your friend why he always likes to root against your teams. Whether or not he gives you a good reason, you must tell him that you have feelings and it hurts you when your friend can't even root for your team even once. I hope that you do root for your friend's teams sometimes. True he may have highly delicate feelings, but remember, you have feelings too. If you can't resolve this conflict, then you should both try to make an agreement not to bring up this subject of rooting for this team and that team. After all, a friendship is a precious thing. You don't want to lose a friend over a subject that is not really all that important at times, because there are other more important subjects in this world that need attention.
Here hoping for the best!
Dear Daniel :)

Not seriously! I'd just love to have a Flip-Flopper in the Second-In-Command spot!

Dear A challenger,
I'm not in a position to tell you if you should apply for the Lieutenant position. But I will give you my best advice. The position of Lieutenant is a serious job. You must have all the qualifications to be selected by The Tyrant. If you think you are qualified enough to take on the task of being The Tyrant's new Lieutenant, then in all circumstances it would probably be wise for you to apply. But it is really your decision.
Good luck with your decision!
Dear Daniel :)

I must admit my question is kinda hard to answer, because it doesn't really make a lot sense.
