yup...the deck should be bigger..not too big..enough space for the F-14 and the crew...

Meanwhile, while the deck is just starting to get busy, another package arrive in the mailbox. It's Flightpath 1/72 USN Carrier Deck Diorama Deck set. This set provides:
2 Tow-Bars,
4 Wheel Chock units,
14 Tie-Down Chain assemblies,
44 Deck Tie-Down Points [each with two styles of grating],
Carrier Deck Edging Panels
a painting template is included for applying the characteristic yellow & red broken lines.

This is in cast metal and photo-etched nickel silver.

Sorry for my ignorance, that's a 1/72 scale diorama? And I assume those figures are from fujimi, right?

wuichong - August 6, 2006 10:49 PM (GMT)
your WIP looks good. may I know how many crew in the Fujimi box? Hope to see your latest WIP. By the way how is ur CV-65?

Silantra - August 7, 2006 12:31 AM (GMT)
judge dredd, yup it's 1/72 ..the crew is fujimi....

wuichong there are 11 figures in the set...

i didnt use the 2 pilots in this case...

Silantra,

What paint are you using? They look quite thinned in the pic? I tend to use the water based Citadel nowadays. I usually folow the painting format used in painting Citadel miniatures. Undercoats, base paint, wash, highlights, etc. Did you use any primers? For my 1/72 soft plastics I use Gunze metal primers.

JD,

i primed the figures with vallejo foundation white..
the paints used were all vallejo..there are thinned with ration 1:6
i build up the paint slowly by layer by layer..in the photos, the figures are still in 2-3 layers.....
