Title: Armor Junkyard Depot Dio

tiking - December 23, 2010 03:14 PM (GMT)
Been working on this dio on & off. Adding and removing things as well as replacing certain objects. Still working on it but can say it's 99% done. This dio that somewhat depicts vehicles fallen to IED's or heavy attacks which left them totally destroyed and unusable. I had seen quite a few pics of badly damaged vehicles, beyond repairs, just put into a heap or collected together and placed into a 'Junkyard' type for damaged vehicles. So this is my loose representation of such yards during the Iraqi War...

Thank you kindly. Great to know I am not alone. I will eventually buy an airbrush but will have to prospone until the time is right. I do not have much space, so until then, it's spray cans. ;)

Tiking:

Long time not see your works, Impresive + Surprise!! Well done.

I always love our creation, this is a good diorama idea for us. Personally i think I can use my extra spures/parts to build something like this.

May I know there are any web related with your builts, maybe blogs or face book, keep in touch dude!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011!!

Thanks. I do not have a personal website show casing my work, unfortunately. I had before but not any more.

Had a change of heart and decided to end the Gun truck, I was working on seprately, life and add it to the Fallen Armor dio. Even added a dog as this was also common in these yards.

Charles,

It's a real fascinating dio...

What will you call it? "Junkyard Dog"?

I have a suggestion though:

I think there would be a tendency for the maintenance troops to strip and salvage anything which is still useable.

Maybe removing equipment which have not been destroyed like spare tires and flattening or shredding any still attached to a vehicle may help make the dio even more realistic?

Best wishes for the New Year, and a Happy Birthday!.

Thanks. I'm way ahead ahead of you on that concept. Trying to find figures of maintenance crew is not easy.
