I want to build aircraft kits with gears up. But how to display them?

What/how can I use as a stand? Do I melt sprue then shove it in the body or the tailpipe? Saw a suggestion to use acrylic panels they use for signs. But do what with that? Make a pyramid to put the aircraft on?

Can anyone help?

I just use this product.

It has rubber nubs at the tip of the stand so it won't damage your paint job. It's 'posable' too.

A bit pricey but I can swap models that I want to display.

Doubles as my decal station too!

If you want permanent, embedded to fuselage stand, I think our sifu Naza (dremel) did post a step by step tutorial here. He uses plywood + iron rod for his stand.

it says 1/400. but of what?

and anyway the stub into the body looks a bit small. wonder how big it is in real life. the site doesnt give the stands' dimensions.

I think those are for airline models.
