Hey folks,
Been a while since I built anything...hence the long silence. actually lost interst in model kits for some time, until Capt Kirks big clearance sale, then for some reason, I picked up some Macross kits. That was the start of a big hole in my pocket. Anyways, here my first completed build in almost a year. an almost 20 year old kit from Bandai (original molds from Arii I believe). Surprisingly, the proportions are really nice and solid. No hasegawa but still acceptable quality. Nothing fancy, mainly out of the box build, quite untidy, even in my eyes. Still, its done, putty, paint and all, which is more than I can say for a lot of my other kits.... I added some weight in the feet to give it a slightly heavier feel cos I like to play with my models after I am done Next up...my first vinyl kit |

The Vf-1J is nice oldie but goldie.I remember staring at my friend's Bandai VF-1 in awe and envy, I think I was 7years old.
Nice finishes on both kits enough to make them alive but not overcooked. |

Thanks for the kind words fellas.
Vince, This one just suddenly happened. I mean I woke up one night feeling restless and before I knew it there was a plastic sprue in one hand and a cutter in another... enghui, Appreciate the comment about the weathering. It was actually far darker with more shadows but I thought the burnt look was excessive. next time I will use a grey base coat instead of black....too much time spraying trying to bring out the white otherwise |

With your touch, this definitely doesnt look like a 20year-old kit!
Despite ur comment on the shading, i think it's pretty well done n suits the kit very much! |
