Whoa!!! Cast in resin? What is the master made of? Plaster or the expensive foam-type thingy (don't know what it is called smile.gif) )?. What is the mold made of? RTV or cast metal? Looks great...

That sure use a hell lot of resin there... biggrin.gif and for only three months, that is a very quick job.

Glad you all like it! biggrin.gif

This project is a miniature master for the video game company. The large pieces (base, chest, legs) are roto-casted and small parts are (head, weapons) soild resin cast. The master is made from 3D animation program later printed out with 3D printer and refine by sculpting tool. We spent the first month building the model on computer and rest of the 2 monthes correcting the output. The mold is by RTV back up with fiberglass (too expensive to use soild mold). Final assembly was done with steel tubing and automotive resin and putty.

We did this about 2 years ago before the video game came out as a pormotional piece for E3 (video game convention in Los Angeles). Later this model was scanned with 3D scanner and produced 1/1 scale piece.

The only thing we did not get to do is to paint the statue. The statue later was produce in China as fiberglass piece. We also did a 1/1 scale Halo gun. I will have to dig up the progress photos to show you guys. It was pretty cool.

Here's the final product in 1/1 scale. Unfortunately, I never got to have a copy nor get to paint the piece.
