I would like suggestions on any brand of decal manufacturers that I can use for the kit. Suggestions on the pilot and wizzo office aftermarket are welcomed as well... biggrin.gif

Perhaps try Hobby HQ for the decals.Sorry that's the best I can do.

Musang,

You should be able to get the Hi-Decal Line F-4E/RF-4E decal sheet from Hobby HQ if this is suitable for you?

Druid,

F-4C/D decal sheets seem to be pretty hard to come by these days.

Here is one for the F-4D that is available at Hobby HQ:

Jason, that HDL sheet only provide an option to do a grey RF-4E. :]

Musang,

You're right of course.

However, Israeli RF-4E's were allocated in such a way that every F-4E squadron had one (or two) RF-4E's on strength.

The HDL sheet has the various squadron markings, so it is technically feasible to mix and match the tail numbers according to photographic references, or according to the ones provided in the Hasegawa kit.

Thanks Jason. I did came across the decal last few weeks but that was before I got the Phantom. Hope it's still there when I visit HHQ sometime this week. smile.gif

Unfortunately, there are no SEA camo schemes in this sheet.

The sheet only includes:

- the Iranian scheme (2 jets),
- the Euro 1 scheme (2 jets),
- the non-standard 'Cloud' scheme used by a Texas-based AFRES unit which later transferred their jets to the Koreans, and
- another non-standard 3-tone grey scheme used by a Florida-based AFRES unit.

Kuman,

The sheet shown only covers the F-4D model.

Hi-Decal did another sheet which covers the F-4E, and includes markings for Iranian jets, Korean jets and a solitary US AFRES jet.

That's probably what you are looking for, and it is available at Hobby HQ.

I've left the Seamless Suckers resin F-4E/F radome for you with Mr. Low.

Sorry I couldn't get there earlier - heard from Pooh & Agrillion that you were there earlier.

The cake was an ad hoc occurrence - Mr Low decided on it at short notice, and Eng Hui volunteered to run over to the nearby Secret Recipe to get it.

Can I bring both of my Phantom to HHQ and leave them there this saturday? (19th May)

Just a mere 11 days before the F-4 Phantom II Group Build on 16 May 2012, at Hobby HQ which will be held in conjunction with the Aneh Group AFV Group Build.

I have some details of the events to pass on:

1. Participation Gift

We will be giving away coffee mugs to each participant for this year's F-4 event.

user posted image

user posted image

The coffee mugs are from the 2008 50th Anniv event, and are an exclusive item of sorts, seeing as it is something that is not for sale.

The coffee mugs will be given at registration while stocks last. We also have to say that only participants entering 1/72, 1/48 & 1/32 models will be eligible for the coffee mugs.

2. Categories

The participating models will be divided into 3 groups - 1/72, 1/48 & 1/32.

There will be a small competition to select the best model(s) from each scale.

I should add that the minimum requirement for each group is 3 entries, and each participant will only be allowed one prize per category.

3. Refreshments

Some light refreshments will be served!

With this, perhaps now is a good time to see who will be present to give us an indication of the head count (and mouths to feed) for the day (to help us get things organised on the day):

1/72
1.
2.
3.
4.

1/48
1. musang pulut - RF-4E IRIAF
2. musang pulut - F-4D 'Steve Ritchie'

Yes, Landy.

A meeting would be good - sure won't want any F-4's being inadvertently run over by an AFV... happy.gif

Well a Group Build is essentially a number of modellers agreeing to build models according to a common theme or subject which is decided upon by the organisers / sponsors.

It has a 'launch' or start date and a completion date, which is normally a finale event where everybody brings their builds to a venue (usually the local hobby shop), where there are some competitions and other fun stuff.
