Hi Everyone ...
I am now going for the next build in this very interesting hobby of mine. As I mention earlier, after I finish my model 101 on the tiger tank. My Financial Controller have done QA/QC and gave permission to procure another model, the SD KFZ 222. ![]() I still choose a 1/48 scale due to the following reason: - To pratice small detail handbrushing - I would like to learn additional skill .. like washing and hopefully can do weathering as well ( with all the sifus guidance of course) - A 1/48 is sooo cute After much referance ... I would like the model to look like this ![]() The washing of parts has been done ![]() Progress build will be done on the next post ... as I need to send my son to school .... |

Progress 1 : Main Assembly
I just follow the instruction on the manual, step by step .... I glue the main parts first, and the smaller parts and parts that needs to be painted with different color than the base color of the model, I put it aside for now .... Part 1 - The plastic is a bit different la from AFV Club ... I think I like AFV club better ![]() Part 2 - I already spray primer on the spare tire's compartment this one need to be in khakis color Part 3 - The tires I put it aside for now for paint ![]() Part 4 - if you notice the hook at the lower end not aligned perfectly .... aiyaaa too excited nak buat cepat ..... ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok will continue with the progress on the next post ... wifey nak ajak pegi bank la pulak hmmmmm |

This unit in the photo belongs to Schwere Panzer-Abteilung 501 (Means: Heavy Tank Battalion 501st). You can notice by the tiger insignia. Schwere Panzer-Abteilung 501 is first heavy tank battalion to reach Africa during late 1942. The main force consist of Tiger 1s (early version) and Panzer IIIs. This sdkfz222 I believe is a recon vehicle for that battalion. That means, it can go with your Tiger in a diorama. Perhaps your next project can get the "Erwin Rommel's Grief command vehicle". |

HI everyone .. I am now back to Malaysia ..... so will continue on the progress build
Progress 2 : Paint Job - Due to my wife morning sickness ( my laziness as well I guess) .. i have unfortunately spray the main body and the hull of the build with Tamiya Dark Yellow spray. ![]() So i took only about 3 minutes to paint both part .... as compare to a couple of days with hand paint on my Tiger Anyway after the paint job .. I started to attached the main body and the hull and the tires as well Test fitting first before gluing the part: ![]() ![]() Done the attachment ![]() ![]() A few more minor detail now: ![]() I feel the current build is not clean like my previous build ... need to be more focus and detail after this .... I should not rush this ... anyway ... my wife gave me a personal work space for my build ... yessss thanks dear ... |
