1/48 scale, from ICM.
This is WWII Russian fighter plane.

Decided a winter camou, and use the salt technique. Result not that encouraging though .... here are some pics...

Nice camo work kwongyan.. it looks damn good to me. always a bit intimidated with winter camo, tend to avoid anything with winter camo.

Looks okay to me. Can you tell me what kind of salt did you use? Perhaps the concentration of salt accumulation maybe the issue. Sometime a clump of water on the surface does that evil thing.

Most of the chipping on actual planes might comes from section with High Alpha section (high G) and slightly over stress areas like leading edge, warmer engine section and front cowlings, elevators leading edge, walkways (most of planes have this), and few (rarely) beneath.

Its not easy to replicate actual paint chip but you did a great job. Take a look at google image. They have plenty of good reference. Try to do to few on old models especially fuselage area and get the hang of it. You are not that far.

Without the actual pictures to compare its hard to say wheater it looks right.

But it looks good to me, nice streaking n the winter camo is nice and dirty.
The chipping looks ok .

reference is pretty sketchy, so i jz simply taruk saja. wanna practise the salt technique before i start on my Zero and Hayate fighter plane.
