This is WWII Russian fighter plane. Decided a winter camou, and use the salt technique. Result not that encouraging though .... here are some pics... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() next is to complete the paint job for the lower fuselage, and attach the landing gears .... comments and feedback welcome ... cheers and happy modelling. |

Looks okay to me. Can you tell me what kind of salt did you use? Perhaps the concentration of salt accumulation maybe the issue. Sometime a clump of water on the surface does that evil thing.
Most of the chipping on actual planes might comes from section with High Alpha section (high G) and slightly over stress areas like leading edge, warmer engine section and front cowlings, elevators leading edge, walkways (most of planes have this), and few (rarely) beneath. Its not easy to replicate actual paint chip but you did a great job. Take a look at google image. They have plenty of good reference. Try to do to few on old models especially fuselage area and get the hang of it. You are not that far. Uncle'S |

But it looks good to me, nice streaking n the winter camo is nice and dirty. The chipping looks ok . |
