Guys,
Here my Revell ship "Calypso" .... This ship is on my workbench for about 2 years... on and off building. This is a more then 10 years old kit I've keep in my stash forgotten. Till my late mom found it while spring cleaning the house and brought it over KL to me. So I've now completed the ship with respect and tribute to my late beloved mom. Although this kit comes with a lot of parts and flsh and seam line to clean up. I must say that some of the part are very crude and don't fit too. I cut off all the ship railing (as Revell plastic railling are thick) and replace them with wires. Manage to salvage the life ring and glue in place on the new railling. Discard the kit incline ladder and replaced with plastic card scratch built version. Thin the Look-out structure and the aerial cut off replaced with wire. ![]() The hecopter resting on the platform.... and that's not a burger. It's a flying saucer look-a-like submarine The look-out structure with scratch bult railing ![]() The decal since they are more than 10 years old it brittle... I hand painted the french and calypso flags, For the US flag I manage to stold from other ship kit ![]() Feedback and critiques are wilcome. CPTan |

Calypso is the Oceanides sea nymphs in Greek mythology, she was the daughter of the Titan god Atlas and her mother was Tethys. Her name is related to the Greek word καλύπτω, which means “to conceal” and she symbolized the forces that divert men from their goals. The Greek myth of Calypso and Odysseus (Ulysses) is full of intrigue and moments of seduction. Calypso, in Greek mythology, seduced Odysseus and kept him for years away from his wife, Penelope. The real ship is name against her. CPTan |

But she still managed to seduce you anyway I have that kit too but haven't really got around to her. Had wanted to do her up like something like this ![]() But I haven't even tried creating water effects, let alone something like that. Maybe one day ........ sigh |

The real Calypso sank while docked in Singapore, but I think they refloated her... |
